Loved it!
Alpha Russian mafia boss meets fiery art dealer. Their chemistry is undeniable but Maddie is sure she doesn't want anything to do with the mob anymore.
Even though they're exploring their passion, too many secrets threaten to tear them apart. But Maddie thinks she can find out who killed Vlad's father. When her little secret comes out, Vlad questions what is important in life. Plenty of excitement suspense and steamy love scenes.
5 stars!!

Vlad Karev was born into a Russian Mafia family and is not a stranger to danger. Now that his father is dead he is not afraid to use everything in his power to figure out just who is responsible.

Madison O’Connor has just found out that her family gallery has ties to the Russian Mafia. Understandably unhappy, she is ready to do anything to break those ties even if it means putting Vlad behind bars!

Can Vlad figure out just who is responsible for his fathers murder? Can Madison free her family from the mob? Read and find out!

What this book lacked in the reality of the mafia... it made up for it in the bedroom and the romance between Vlad and Madison. I absolutely loved Madison and her OCD and could not get enough of Vlad and his alpha male attitude.

Overall this book was pretty good and is selling for a very fair price.

I read an ARC of this book. Here is my honest review. I really liked it. Baddie and Glad were going to use each other for different reasons. Neither of them planned to fall in love or have danger at their front steps. I can't wait to read book 2!

In book one of the Karev Brothers, Maddison O'Connor is not happy her family owes money to the Russian mob. After his father's murder, Vlad Karev is investigating all possible leads. Turning up at Maddie's family art gallery, the attraction is immediate. But does Maddie know how Vlad's father was murdered? Was she responsible for his murder? Can Maddie and her family be free of the Russians?

I enjoyed this quick read. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two and the interesting storyline.

I really liked Madison's personality and Vladimir was a great compliment to her. The only part I didn't like was the epilogue. It's a few months after but it doesn't have any progress to the story or a sense of closure either.

This was a very light mafia story. Vlad is investigating the murder of his father. His brothers have abandoned the mafia life and he is the only one still holding onto the lifestyle. There is not much "mafia" in the story. Madison family owns an art gallery that was laundering money for Vlad's father. She is his prime suspect. The story is very short so there is not a lot to it. There were things that were unrealistic. I doubt if you can just "leave" the mafia.

I received this book free from NetGalley for an honest review. I enjoyed the entire premise of the book but the book left me wanting more. It was way too short. The amount of things that happened in the book were great but there was not enough detail or character development. I loved the brothers and the interactions with one another but I don't think the author gave us enough to go on to fall in love with the characters. Who are the Russian brothers and why should we care. The sex scenes were hot but after that the relationship just fizzled. No heart to heart conversations, no more dates..just "we are in love". To me this is unbelievable and didn't make me want more. The potential was there but the I just needed more.

This was just too short! I wanted more character development, a less frenetic pace, and a better understanding of what the two characters saw in each other. I didn't get their chemistry- it was too flat. I read this because I was curious about the Russian mob angle and perhaps this will be further developed in the series but there were too many declarations from characters about the family business and not enough insight or action into what they actually did. It has potential. I just needed more.

If you’ve thought about getting your literary toes wet in the mafia romance genre, you might want to consider reading Her Ruthless Russian by Leslie North. At only 103 pages, it’s a very quick read that is a stand-alone but also book 1 of a three part unfolding mobster murder drama. Each book will feature a HEA for the somewhat estranged Karev brothers, with the final book likely revealing who brutally murdered their father.

As an avid mafioso book enthusiast, for me, it was more of a low key, less in-depth, uncomplicated read than I’m used to. The single biggest element that jumped out at me here was it appears you can simply choose to just walk away from the mob with no consequences, despite previously being part of it. Let’s just say that is not what I’m used to coming across in this genre. But, hey, I’m just shrugging it off, because, honestly, this short novella is more about a resentful of the mob heroine, who just can’t resist the dangerously handsome hero, and a “can’t keep my hands to myself” mob hero who likewise can’t say no to her, as well.

Rating: Mob hero - 5 stars, Heroine - 4 stars, Writing - 3.5 stars

This was fast paced book that had a few twists that I did not see comming. The characters had chemistry together as Vlad and Maddie work together to get her family out from the Russian mob and find out who killed his father. There was some action in the plot but there were also a few surpises making me want to read what happens next with the story line in book two.
