Who knew the Russian mob could be so romantic? I probably should add sexy too. I have never met someone from the Russian mob so I can't really compare.

Vlad is looking into his father's murder which leads him to Maddison whose father has her own ties to his family. Vlad is the last of three brothers who still take part in his family's business. His other two brothers got out but Vlad can't let his father's murder and murderer go until he knows the truth. Maddison wants to cut all ties to the Karev family to save her father from making even more mistakes. So both Vlad and Maddie use their desire for one another and their passion to find out answers about each other. They do get a bit distracted with each other but quickly learn that they really are not enemies. It sound cliché and cheesy but I am far too hooked on their relationship to care.

The pacing was great. I mean the book isn't that long so there isn't much time to set everything up but Leslie North did an amazing job keeping my interest. We get to know other characters, lots of passion and still have time for a good mystery. There was danger and romance and one heck of a great HEA. Questions need to be answered still and there are two more brother's stories to read. Can't wait.

This was a good story that manages to be part of a series without a frustrating cliffhanger. I look forward to more in this series.

I am addicted to hard core mafia novels, and when I saw Her Ruthless Russian by Leslie North, I couldn't resist. But this is more of a sweet sexy read than a book that will leave you biting your nails and on the edge of your seat. Felt a bit rushed at the ending, but I enjoyed it.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I enjoy seeing what she comes out with next.

I usually like Leslie North’s books. They are perfect contemporary short novels, to read when you want to escape, and don’t think about the real world. She builds worlds you can get lost in, and her characters have depth and charisma.

Not with Her Ruthless Russian. I am not sure what happened, but this novel felt nothing but rushed, the plot squeezed together as if exploring it in more details was too hard, or too time-consuming. The characters were wooden, and not relatable at all even the family dynamic that Leslie tried to create with the Karev family, fell flat.

I also do not understand how a woman who has ties to the mafia can be friends with a lady from the FBI – mind you, this is not a business relationship, but a true friendship. Would have not any sensible agent talked her out of any relationship, with someone with that caliber, just to keep her safe? I am not going to say more about this because it would spoil the plot completely, but even the conclusion did not make too much sense.

Usually, Leslie ties up every novel within any series, so that it works as a stand-alone book. This book gave me a feel of being unfinished.

A good love story, but nothing ruthless about it. I am a fan of Leslie North but this was not one of my favorite books that she has written.

When Madison meets Vlad she is fired up and sassy and he is passed. What he doesn't know yet but intends to find out is whether or not she has had anything to do with his father's death. What he doesn't realize is just how angry she is about his family being involved with her family's art business.

With a best friend in the FBI and a mob lover, what could possibly go wrong? There are quite a few light hearted moments in this book and I enjoyed reading it, it just didn't go with the title.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

this was my first for this author. I liked the description of the book but the characters to me didn't make much sense. H was head of Russian Mafia but had not security around him. Just being able to leave the Mafia whenever you wanted. not believable at all. h was just boring. I would like to read about his brother who owned book store.
