Easy read with a strong female in a military role. A good start for the beginning of a series.

This is a nice easy read which does not strain the brain.
Ideal for the beach.

This was a great read an a great start to a series and I really enjoyed Avery an Connors story an I can't wait for the next one as I know it will be as great as this one

OUT OF BOUNDS is an engaging military romance. The story centers on Avery and Connor, two friends who who have known each other since childhood. Things change once they both join the Naval Academy and their friendly relationship changes into a competition. Even while they are constantly competing against each other, there is an attraction simmering between them but they try to ignore their feelings. Now that they are both out of the Navy and trying to acclimate to civilian life, they meet again.

I admire Avery’s strength and feistiness. As a woman, she has to work hard to make it through the Naval Academy and to became a pilot. Connor has a lot of confidence and he isn't intimidated by Avery, if anything, he is attracted to her competitive spirit and her spunk. Since getting out of the military, Connor is working hard to restore his family business and he also takes care of his niece. Avery is dealing with a few different issues of her own and she still doesn't trust Connor. These two are constantly dancing around each other throughout the story. While I enjoyed the idea of two navy pilots getting together, at times, I had a difficult time connecting to them.

This is the first book that I have read by Melissa Klein and it wont be the last i really enjoyed it.This is a great start to a great series i really enjoyed Avery and Connor's story and cant wait for the next one a great read

The book summary sounds amazing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go on and decided to give up at 38%. The reason I gave up is because the story failed to capture my attention that I realized I put it aside a lot and read other book instead. I felt the chemistry is lacking between Avery and Conner too. Also, I have a problem with the heroine. I’m annoyed that she felt annoyed when her ex moved on first. I mean, why would she bother about that? The guy cheated on her she could just care less about him. I’m sorry that this book isn’t for me. However, don’t let my negative thoughts change your decision to read this book because you might like it.

Avery and Connor have known each other since they were kids. Both entered the Navel Academy and became die hard competitors.

Avery married and divorced with a son. She has retired from active duty but is still on Reserves. She works for an aviation company. She is confident, smart, and independent.

Connor had to retire from service to go home and take care of his niece and save the family business from ruin. He has sunk everything he has into paying off his brother’s debts and turning the business back into a success. He’s had a thing for Avery since they were kids.

When Avery loses a bid, her butthead boss, looking for any excuse, fires her. She finds out the same day that her ex is filing for full custody of their son and Connor won the bid she lost. She thinks he used her to get the contract and is furious and a bit heart broken. Connor offers her a job in his company. Between a rock and a hard place, she accepts.

Watching these two dance around each other was interesting and frustrating. Connor was so supportive of Avery, encouraging and praising her success. Yet, every time they got close to getting together again, he would jump back.

I liked the supporting characters and look forward to the next book in the series.

I liked the fact that both Avery and Connor had been in the military. Makes it a hands down hot read when both are capable to take care of themselves, but rely on each other anyway.
