Ok maybe I'm a softy but I thoroughly enjoyed this romance.
It was such an easy read and the character interaction gave it a nice feel.

I really tried to enjoy this book from the stand point that this author writes engaging stories that are easy to get lost in...but, I could not get past Risa's little rich girl mentality and just how perfect and cute she always thought of herself as, and how her parents treated her, like a small child. Then there was Riq and his never ending references to having been a SEAL and always thinking of how he operated was based on his training. He was constantly thinking about how he was a SEAL and just how he would act like on in any given situation. Not too mention, how he kept his wealth a big secret from his family and acted like a brainless failure, when he was anything but that, especially in front of his brothers, was borderline ridicules. Why he felt the need to do so puzzled me.
How Risa and Riq treated each other early on was confusing, she thought she was too good for him, and he was just plain cruel to her because her parents flaunted their wealth, even though their company was near bankruptcy. I did enjoy that Risa was a strong and intelligent woman in fighting for what she believed in, but her rich girl entitlement was a roadblock for me. When she was depressed or bored, shopping with her mother was the cure all to end all that ailed her. Though the story was well written in itself, the characters were just not likable to me.

Maurisa/Risa’s boyfriend Spencer broke up with her the day after they graduated from college. Risa was waiting for Spencer to come back to her. Risa was also at her first job ever and she worked for herd ad in the family business not as if she really had any work to do. She had been on the job for two months now. Then Risa saw a picture of Spencer with Missy who his mother loved and gushed over and Risa knew for sure Spencer would never coming back to her. Risa worked at Magneault Perfumery. Her dad saw Risa was down after the picture and suggested she and her mother go to Paris. Risa Loved Paris as it was the homeland of her paternal grandparents. Enrique/ Riq had been stupid when he was young and really would have went down the wrong road if not for his YaYA she had saved him and Riq then went into the Marines and became a Seal. Then he got hurt-his leg and that ended his career of being a Seal. Riq had turned his life around.Risa’s father unknown to her needs Riq to invest in the perfumery or he is going to lose it. Risa gives Riq attitude when she sees him in the courtyard at the perfumery without a hardhat on. Then Later Riq sees her at the Beaches which is a very exclusive country club and she thinks he is a janitor. Riq loses his temper and pulls Risa into the Janitor’s closet and kisses her. Risa was angry but responded to Riq. then after Riq left she noticed his flip flop and it was a very expensive brand. Then Risa notices something's not right with her parents. Her mother was very laid back normally and he looked worried as did her dad. Was the company in trouble Risa wondered, did her mother Candace and herself help deplete the company with their lavish spending. No one would tell Risa anything. Even though Risa had a chemistry degree her father didn’t have her use it. Then Risa’s parents were having a dinner party which was usual but there were to be investors also coming. Then Risa hears a motorcycle pull up outside their home. One of the guys was the friend she seen at the Beaches.Charles Woodstone was the heir of the Woodstone fortune. Then Risa’s dad mentions the other man is the investor he needs to talk to. Risa felt horrible as it was the same man she had insulted and ordered around. Riq was dyslexic so his two older brothers didn’t think a lot of Riq, one was a lawyer and the other a doctor. Riq had not told his family how successful he had become and was a billionaire many times over and his company’s name was Knight Trader. The first person Riq had ever made an investment fro was his Chief and it was the chief’s life savings- from the marines. Riq let out a gruff laugh when he seen Risa’s face and she realized who it was. Riq had even come to this dinner party to teach Risa a lesson. Her dad would not tell Risa what was going on so Risa asked Riq to walk on the beach with her and RIq told her that the company was heading for bankruptcy if someone didn’t invest some much needed money into it. Then Riq kissed her and walked away. Then Riq planned to return to the island he bought to put his will against the hurricane headed their way to get away from everybody and everything. Riq And his dog Jiggs. But then Risa fires a boat that drops her off and quickly turns right around to head back to the mainland and Riq' s stuck with her and if he doesn't take her in she will die. Risa went to the island hoping to pitch her new idea to Riq and get him to invest the money to see the idea through.
I really enjoyed this story. I liked how Risa would not back down from Riq and believed in herself and her idea. She went and did what she had to do even following Riq to his island to tell her idea to him. She dealt with his grumpiness as well as she could. I didn’t like how Riq lied about the generator and all and made her suffer so much yes he didn’t want her there but there was nothing that could be done right now til someone made it to the island. I liked how she broke through to the real Riq and helped him heal and do what's right and told him just what she thought when she found out he had lied to her about so much. I also loved how she told his two brothers off I laughed out loud about that one. I loved Jigg's in this story always going in the water even though he would drown. I adored the ending so very cute. I loved the characters and especially Riq’s YaYa and how she just loved him and had faith in him no matter what. I loved the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

Maurisa is fighting for her company and for recognition of her business sense when she runs into Riq who she hopes will invest in her company. Riq has secrets from his family and his past that he must heal from . These two are sequestered on a island due to a hurricane where Riq comes to find that Maurisa is more than just a pretty princess and helps with a business plan. Enjoyed the journey these two traveled to true love. Really liked the dog input to the story. This is the third of the Latinos series. This book can be read alone but is tied to the others in the series.

Knight in Tattooed Armor is a unique, entertaining and lively version of a Cinderella story just as the blurb states, but it is better than it appears and worth the time to read. Maurisa, Risa, Pooh or Princessa, no matter the name used for our heroine; she is the genuine wealthy party girl. Yet, she, also, has an amazingly genuine heart. Risa has great parents who want to spoil her. She has great grandparents from whom she has learned about the family business and learned how to be a good person. Her father’s parents are deceased. Her mother’s mom is still an amazing strength in her life.
The book basically begins with Risa having a horrible day when she meets Enrique or Riq at the club. She mistakes him for an employee, thinking him arrogant and treats him unkindly which is not like her usual self. He does nothing to change her opinion of him. In fact, he uses strengthens her opinion by acting the caveman that she nicknames him. It turns out he is the ‘money’ her parents need to keep their inherited family business open. Riq decides to exact his revenge by attending her parent’s dinner and surprising her with his attendance.
Riq was a former seal and wealthy in his own right. He had a lot of issues from his childhood causing problems between himself and his family. They did not know of his personal wealth. He planned to keep it that way even as he lived on his private island. One of his endearing qualities that let you know of his good heart was his love for his mother and grandmother.
Risa has a plan to save the family business but still needs Riq’s help. She follows him to his private island right before a hurricane hits. The antics between these two will keep you laughing in their idiocy of how they treat each other. No matter how he treats her, Risa keeps a great attitude about Riq. He continues to try to get her to be the arrogant ‘b’ he first met. She keeps her cool, but doesn’t let him get away with it without comment; frequently telling him he is being mean.
Once she realized how completely cruel he was, she conclusively reaches the final straw and is done with being funny, kind and forgiving. It took Riq a good portion of the book to realize he had been a jerk to her in every way. His life had not been as charmed as her life. Their journey is really endearing and enjoyable. Thank you Net Galley for sharing this book in exchange for an honest review.

Can you show the real you to the world? Risa knows that she can help her father and the company but he won't allow her to get involved and now the company is failing and she knows that she can help save it. Riq knows that he should be honest with his family but he just allows them to think that he is useless with no job. But he is so much more, he is a marine that helps other vets and has so much money but that doesn't mean that he is happy. Can he help Risa with her company or will it just a fun filled hurricane? They have spent time together, learnt so much about each other and hoping that this just won't stop. But he is too stubborn and he believes that she used him to get him to save her father's company but she just fell in love.
Can he ever get her to forgive him and will she let him in?
Another great book. I received a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Fun read, great character development and story. Look forward to reading more from this author

Well, this is a tough one to review. I liked this book. I more than liked it, I loved it. What I loved was Risa and how she evolved from being seen as "Princessa" as Enrique called her, to a young woman who could speak her piece and let him have it. And determined to save the family failing business, is bright enough to formulate a plan and put it into action. Even if her grandmother nudged her forward and she got a little help from Riq. But she refused his money.
I thought Chef Surly was a badly behaved man, he looks saintly compared to this one. Caro can sure write 'em, that's the truth. Sure I'll agree that he has nothing that spurs his interest and all the other things but his behavior on the island during and after the hurricane was appalling. Because he thought he was going to teach her a lesson. Because he misjudged her and not just once but a few times. Concerned about what his yaya would think about what he was doing, rightly so. His yaya would have beaten his backside, old woman or not. His laissez faire attitude may have suited some situations but the poor guy has some genuine discernment problems knowing when that attitude would benefit him. Dumb dicky.
Risa was a champ, she really was. I love the way Caro writes these woman who are persistent and have a brain. (And use it) to their advantage and yes while they might get all tingly in their girlie parts by these men, they still revert back to brain work. And it really makes the story click and pulls it together. As an aside, I felt kind of sorry for her parents and the bubble they lived in. But they wouldn't be the first to have their heads in the sand. It did rangle me her father didn't pay attention to her as far as the business went. I loved her Grandma!! Sage advice from this woman.
Now that I blew off some steam about Riq, yes this is a great book...absolutely. Caro has that ability to suck you right into the story and not let you go until the tale is told. I love the way she writes the characters and the situations they're in. I wait anxiously for the next in the series. You can bet I'll be reading it! 4.9 from me...
**arc from NetGalley and publisher in exchange for a fair review**

Loved this book! I literally couldn't put it down and was sorry when it ended. Riq is a damaged man who hides from the world and doesn't even share the truth with his own family. Risa is a pampered princess who has glided through life without any real challenges (except for getting dumped by her boyfriend).
Suddenly, she learns that things are not how she thought, but not to worry because her role is to be pretty and make people happy. However, Risa earned a chemistry degree with honors and sets to trying to develop a solution. This puts her in Riq's world when she maroos herself on his island just ahead of a hurricane.
What follows is contemporary romance at its best. Fans of the genre will love this book. the author is on my must read authors list. Oh, btw, I LOVE Jiggs and would adopt him in a heartbeat. ...he might just be the best dog ever!
