Holy hotness I'm surprised my iPad didn't melt after reading chapter 12... That has to be one of the hottest, melt your electronic device this book is steaming hot! At one point I needed to go splash cold water on my face because it was intensely hot. It was a great story line and the characters were so fascinating and there was great character development in this book. Any time I hear the word honey badger I might blush a litter because I will be reminded of this book. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

RUTHLESS is a fun, fast paced, sexy story with great dialogue and lots of chemistry between the characters. This captivating story centers on two bold and independent attorneys who are constantly giving each other lots of snarky attitude and I loved all their verbal bantering.

Roman and Madison hook up and afterwards discover they are going to be working together when Addison is hired to work for Roman’s law firm. Even though they are attracted to one another, Roman and Addison try to hide their feelings. It is entertaining as they spar with each other and try to ignore the sizzling chemistry burning between them. Roman is constantly trying to get himself under control whenever he is around Addison but she pushes all his buttons.

Roman has never met a woman like Addison. She is a great attorney and they have a highly charged sexual relationship. What starts as just sex turns into more as they spend time with each other. I like these two together; they complement each other. Roman tries to keep his distance from Addison because he thinks he is too kinky for her. He enjoys threesomes and he needs to be in control. Addison is sassy, smart and strong willed, yet she likes Romans dominant ways. Addison is ambitious and sexy and pretends she feels nothing for Roman. Roman and Addison both have two personas. One is for work and the other for play. Roman is a bad boy with piercings and tattoos in his free time and a conservative attorney while at work. This story is told from alternating POV’s and has some entertaining secondary characters. RUTHLESS is a smoldering story filled with heat, desire and wickedness.

High powered attorney during the day and hot as hell “Ruthless” the stripper during his playtime. Roman Reeves is straight up sex on a stick. From the minute she lays eyes on him Addison Paige wants Roman, there are very few men who turn her down; but that’s exactly what Roman does. Roman has a strict rule about hooking up. He doesn’t hook up with friends in his circle. Addie is the best friend of his best friend’s girl, if he hooks up with her and things go south, there are too many relationships at stake; so she is strictly off limits. Never one to back down from a challenge, Addie sets out to get Roman to bend to her whim.
After a steamy rendezvous in a dark alley way the two figure, the most they will have to do is deal with each other in a group setting when their “besties” decide to have them all together and that fine until neither can actually get their minds off of that night and Addie ends up being hired as a Junior Attorney in Roman’s Firm where sexual tension mildly describes what they have. Finally succumbing to the passion Roman introduces Addie into his world of “kink” which means sharing her with other men and much to his surprise she’s not turned off by it at all. Now Roman has to decide if he’s really okay with sharing a woman he’s this attracted to and Addie has to decide if she willing to be in a relationship with a man who needs more than just “her” in the bedroom.
These two quite entertaining; Roman wasn’t quite what I expected. I was sure one “personality” would dominate the other but that was’t the case. This guy was just the right amount of both and knew exactly when to unleash the beast or reign him in. As “Ruthless” he’s spiked hair, pierced tongue and eyeliner wearing sex. But as “Roman” he’s suit, tie and wing tipped wearing hotness. I couldn’t quite decide which I liked better. Gina’s descriptions were amazing. There’s nothing like a suit wearing guy that sports hot ass tats under his closed, not to mention a pierced…ummm…package underneath. Addie wasn’t as wild and as confident as she appeared to be in the beginning; which was fine with me because again the balance between bad-ass “honey-badger” and insecure woman were just right for me. The only thing stopping me from giving this book four stars is that at moments I felt like sometime it was a bit rushed and I would like to have gotten a little more background on the two maybe dig a little deeper into their lives but for the most part, this was a pretty good read. I didn’t read book one, Shameless, but it has been added to my TBR list.

I received a NetGalley ARC for an honest review.

And honestly - this was a great little story. The characters and the story line kept me engaged. Yes, there was instalust, yes there was some push/pull, and yes there was miscommunication/assumptions made, but Ruthless was an awesome alpha hero without being over the top and too asshole-ish (with a little oh so sexy kink thrown in), and our heroine was sassy, sexy, confident, smart and independent.

RUTHLESS is a MUST READ…. the SENSUALITY in this book is off the charts. It will leave you SPELL-BOUND.

The book is well written. A little, No a lot on the RISKY side but done exceptionally well. Ruthless is smart, educated, and SEXY as HELL. I like his devotion that he has to his friends and family. The thing that he can do with his body. Sorry can’t going into much detail. You just have to find out for yourself.

I loved Addision!!!! I enjoyed that she wasn’t a weak female. Her character is strong, she doesn’t take no for an answer and anything she wants she is not afraid to go after it. That includes Ruthless.. The chemistry between Addison and Ruthless is FIRE!!! The dialogue and sex scenes (have I mentioned the sex scenes yet HOT!!!! STEAMY HOT!!!) was captivating which made the book a page-turner. It made me anxious to find out what happened next. I also liked that the story line wasn’t predictable.

Ruthless is the second in the series and it's Roman and Addie's turn. Roman high powered lawyer by day, ruthless stripper by night. Addie is fresh from school, knows what she wants, and well she's a lawyer in training. After Addie plays the game right and gets Roman's attention finding out he's her new boss is the last thing either expects.
This book is seriously hot and definitely held me attention. I can't wait to read from this series and this author!

I thought the first book in this series Shameless was hot. Well get ready to crank up the heat level as Roman "Ruthless" Reese brings us his brand of sexy. Both Roman and Addison are great characters. Both have intense personalities and while they work hard all day they both enjoy playing even harder. By day they are upstanding hardworking attorneys, by night their wild sides come out to play and there is no holding back.

This is a fantastic, seriously hot read that you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

the characters were strong, and I really enjoyed Addies attitude. The issue is that there are times I felt the story just dragged on. I've read good and bad books so far this year and this one is right in the middle. I'll encourage people to read it and I wanted to give it more stars...... but...... I just couldn't.

in ruthless, the second book in gina maxwell's playboys in love series, we see roman and addison light up the boardroom and the dance floor with their explosive chemistry and crazy sexual tension.

addie has always been the girl who flouts the rules, she fights for what she wants, and works and plays hard. she wants roman as soon as she sees him, and even though he usually doesn't get tangled up with friends of friends sexually, she's going to make sure that he breaks that silly rule of his. there's a reason for this that addie isn't aware of. roman has certain needs that most girls he meets aren't up for. he enjoys sharing his partners, having another pair of hands on hand in order to increase his partner's pleasure.

addie is taken aback by these needs, but she's open-minded enough to try things. especially given how intense the connection is between roman and her. when she ends up working at roman's newly-launched law firm, at first they try to stay away from each other, but it's too late to stop their relationship, they are already too connected to keep things only professional. their relationship as it develops and grows is really lovely, and sweetly emotional.

but just when roman is ready to admit that he's ready to be intimate with only addison, and doesn't need the added buffer of a third, he's blindsided by a secret that addison has been keeping from him. now as you are reading, you totally know that this is coming, but at the same time, it's one of those things where the whole thing could have been avoided. i think the issue is that what causes the big blow up is such a stupid misunderstanding, and these characters are smarter than this. they should have been able to communicate better, we'd seen their relationship grow into something strong, even given their emotional baggage. so the level of obtuseness was a bit hard to swallow given that they had been behaving like normal human beings otherwise.

they figure themselves out, but i think i would have preferred something less dramatic happening to cause the drama or something with bigger stakes, because in the end, when they finally have the talk that resolves everything, they've been separated for three months, and a ten-minute conversation fixes things. and like of course i'm happy for a happily ever after, but at the same time, i struggled with the way everything ended up getting resolved.

I've FINALLY done it! I've finally read a book by Gina Maxwell! I met her at the RT Convention a few years ago and she was so fun and hilarious and cool that I couldn't wait to start reading her! All of my blogmates loved her and I knew she was going to write one hell of a book. Fast forward a few years and here I am, just NOW getting to it! Better late than never!!!

Addison was awesome! I wasn't sure I was going to like her at first though. She called herself the honey badger because the honey badger don't give a shit, etc. I was like, "Uhhh that's a little TOO aware of pop culture" but after a few more pages, I was totally on board. Addison is a lawyer so she's frigging brilliant. But she's sexy and fun and funny and she was never afraid to tell it like it is. I felt like she knew herself pretty well and was confident without being a jerk.

Ruthless was also pretty awesome! After reading the blurb, he sort of sounded like your average alpha male...and he's definitely an alpha male but he's more than that too. I liked that I was able to see into his past a little because it made it easier for me to NOT be angry about his life choices. I mean, I could understand his attitudes about marriage and long-term relationships. This is going to sound totally stupid but I really loved Roman's relationship with his dad, who was also a high-powered attorney. I thought for sure they would hate each other but it really was a good, if slightly competitive, relationship. It seemed like they got along well and that his dad was proud of him. It made Roman that much more relatable and likable.

The Sexy Time was ca-razy hot! It was WAY more risque than I thought it would be. There was a bit of voyeurism and some threesomes which really surprised me. I think this would be a PERFECT book for readers who aren't sure if they're into the kinkier stuff but still want to try it out. Addison and Roman were a great couple though. They had a similar sense of humor and really challenged each other in a way that I thought was fun and healthy.

I would totally recommend this book! Sure, it's Book 2 in a series but I hadn't read Book 1 and was able to jump right in. There's a little drama at the end but the book is so much fun to read overall. The characters are a lot of fun and I laughed a lot throughout the story. I think I might have gotten a teensy bit teary-eyed at the end but no one witnessed it so it can't be proven. The only regret I felt while reading this book is that I didn't read this author much, much sooner!

What a great story. Seriously hot, and had me flipping pages because I didn't want to miss a single thing.
Roman... have mercy on me. I could only picture those words coming out of his mouth, me with a strangle hold on my kindle.
Addie, I loved this honey badger of a girl. Tough, bright and sexy and knows how to play it.
What a wicked ride this book was and Gina did such a brilliant job with these two.
This book gets 4.5 stars from me. Yes it's a must read!!!

**arc from NetGalley and Entangled in exchange for a fair review**

Interesting concept, good characters, think magic Mike becomes a lawyer. Totally x-rated. Both Rome aka ruthless and Addison are good likeable main characters finding love.
Holy hell does Gina Maxwell know how to write scorching scenes.
Gifted read by Netgalley for an honest review.

I devoured this one. It was just a great mix of everything. I enjoyed the first one quite a bit, but I think I liked this one better. It is smutty as sin and I loved it.
I kind of expected Roman to be a cocky guy, but he was way sweet. Addison is a strong independent woman making her own way and she owns it. The book had great banter and light hearted moments.
I look forward to more of this series.

4.25 STARS

Attorney Roman Reeves not only commands a courtroom, but he dominates in the bedroom as well. Shrugging off his suit at night, Roman lets his alter ego—aka Ruthless—come out to play. And “play” for this uber-sexy, part-time stripper, means indulging his baser desires, engaging in a very particular type of kink. While Roman has nothing against relationships in theory, his sexual proclivities don’t translate well into long-term commitments. And that’s perfectly fine with Roman, who seeks nothing more than a single encounter with any given woman. But Roman has one steadfast rule—he never messes around with friends of friends. That is, until Addison Paige enters the scene.

Addison Paige is a newbie attorney, striving to make her mark in the male-dominated field of law. She’s a determined, workaholic wild-cat, and the BFF to Jane Wendall. Thanks to Addison’s matchmaking interference, Jane is now helplessly in love with Chance Danvers, who just happens to be best friends with Roman. In fact, Roman and Chance are part owners of a strippers-for-hire business that they started back in college. With just one look at Roman, who’s sporting his stripper persona Ruthless, Addison can’t stop lusting after the tattooed hottie. Knowing that Roman considers her off-limits, just seems to fuel Addison’s desire further, and a game of cat and mouse quickly ensures. Tempted and pushed to their limits, rules are soon forgotten, and they each lose themselves in a moment of unbridled and salacious sex.

Fast forward several weeks, and Roman finds himself still unable to shake Addison from his thoughts. Why that is, he hasn’t a clue. But fantasizing about Addison isn’t helping Roman to concentrate on work. So imagine his shock, when the woman starring in all his latest fantasies, suddenly turns up in his office as a new attorney hire. Shoving his lustful thoughts aside, Roman and Addison agree to act professionally, both determined to create a successful working relationship. But it isn’t long before sparks begin to fly, and Roman is enticing Addison down a sexual path she never imagined traveling.

Roman and Addison’s sexual chemistry not only sizzles, it’s simply off the charts! But more than that, their characters are likeable and endearing. Addison, in particular, is strong, capable and confident. She doesn’t back down from a fight and goes after what she wants. She’s self-assured, which enables her to show her vulnerability, especially when opening herself up to Roman in ways she never dreamed possible. Roman, on the other hand, admires Addison’s spit-fire attitude and revels in her career accomplishments. While he might crave a woman who submits to his desires in the bedroom, he enjoys her challenging personality in all other aspects of their lives.

Although “Ruthless” is the second book in Gina Maxwell’s Playboys in Love series, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. And while the first book (“Shameless”) was good, in my opinion, “Ruthless” is definitely better! I look forward to getting my hands on Austin and Liam’s stories sometime in the future!!

4 hot and steamy stars
Roman and Addison know each other through friends. Her BFF and his BFF are together. So for Roman, Addison is off limits. This makes Addison want him more and Roman tries to fight it but can't. Their attraction is too powerful.

Then Addison is hired to work for Roman at his law firm.

This book was HOT but there was some things that bothered me... like how is a well known lawyer also a stripper at night???!!! I mean, am I the only person who doesn't understand this???

So after reading Shameless in one day I didn't know how I was going to make it until Ruthless came out. So I went on NetGalley, requested the book and the next day this baby was on my Kindle. Talk about happy girl!!! This book did not disappoint!!

We are first introduced to Roman and Addison in Shameless. Roman aka Ruthless is Chance's best friend. Addison is Jane's best friend. So with that being said Roman has decided that Addison is off limits because he doesn't want to ruin the groups friendship. Isn't that noble? Eventually Addison ends up working for Roman and that's when the real fun begins!!

Roman and Addison are both headstrong and opinionated. Addison has a mouth on her and knew how to push Romans buttons which I loved. They fought, clawed and loved hard. I love book couples like them. The sexual tension was oozing off the pages as you read. In this series each couple has a secret sexual fantasy. In this book we explore having a third person in the bedroom. We have a ménage scene that was off the charts hot and steamy. I mean several parts of the story were hot but this was my favorite part. What I loved about the ménage was that Addison's needs were put first and she was treated with respect before, during and after. Make sure to read this book in the a/c or stick your head in the freezer. I had to crack open a window because of how hot I got!!

As the relationship progresses insecurity issues and doubts start to rear it's ugly head. Neither Roman or Addison wanted anything major but things happen when you least expect it. So when we reach that critical point will Roman and Addison be able to move forward? Or will their agreement end? Only one way to find out and that's by reading the book. I know, I know but if I told you where's the fun in that?? Trust me it's worth it!

Maxwell is a new to me author and I just love her writing style. I devoured both books in two days. Fans of Shameless will definitely enjoy Ruthless. Well done again Maxwell!

The romance was hot and I liked the characters. Though for some inexplicable reason Gina used the words Honey Badger to describe her heroine TWENTY EIGHT TIMES in the book. Honestly, it was more than a little distracting and kept taking me out of the story.

Roman could be accommodating when he wanted to be, “I’ll be happy to mark you with my scent every d*** morning if you like it that much.” Sometimes Roman is like a puppy when it comes to his woman, “eff no,” I say, hoisting her up so she wraps her legs around my waist. “I like arguing with you, woman. Feel free to disagree with me at least once daily.” I really liked this book, I loved Roman.
