I apologize for the late review of this book, I actually read it quite a while ago. What a tremendous series this is. The main character in this book is able to move past the issues of her past and forge ahead to find a new and better life. The love story in this book was gripping and held you from start to finish. I also enjoyed the family relationships that were offered in this book and how they crossed over between the families. Robyn Carr writes amazing series about small town people and this second installment in this series just makes you want to continue reading all of the books in this series. Looking for a great set of books to sit down and curl up with, then this series is the one for you.

I loved this book so much more than I expected to. I generally enjoy small town romance, and I adored Sully from the first book, but this one was something special. Sierra is such a great character, and really exemplifies the AA/recovery process in a way that is thoughtful and accurate. Well done!

Note: clearing old books from before 2019

I loved the first book in this series, and have continued to purchase each book so I can catch up on all the Sullivan's Crossing happenings. I wish there was more time in the day to read.

Robyn Carr has talent. She takes a small town in Colorado and turns it into a family. Sullivan’s Crossing is a place where people come to experience Colorado and never want to leave or at least I didn’t want to leave, EVER.

The storyline is wonderful. There is characters that are not perfect which makes them real. The issues they have are issues that many people deal with every day. The friendships they have are not perfect but they are the same friendships that I have with my friends. The families are supportive, open with their love, and accepting of each other. This may seem like it is too perfect but it wasn’t.

Sierra is a recovering alcoholic who has a secret in her past that she is trying to out run. She runs to Sullivan’s Crossing and her brother to keep a low profile. Yet, she meets Connie and everything she thought she wanted and needed changes. Connie, aka Conrad, shakes up her world making her feel things that she hasn’t felt in forever. There were times I felt like their relationship was one sided with Conrad providing a ton of support while Sierra was so focused on herself that she took it for granted but then I realized that most relationships have those bumps that are one sided and it will flip back and forth as to who is supporting who more as the relationship moves forward.

I definitely recommend picking up your own copy of Any Day Now and falling in love with the characters of Sullivan’s Crossing.

Robyn Carr has such a gift for creating small town communities that I would LOVE to live in. Sullivan’s Crossing, Colorado, is my current favorite!

ANY DAY NOW is the second installment in the series, with Cal’s younger sister Sierra coming to town to visit. Sierra is the survivor of a troubled past, though every day can still be a struggle. Cal’s father-in-law Sully owns a secluded mountain campground, and it’s just the place for Sierra to regain her footing. I adored the bond that formed between Sully and Sierra. Sully may seem lovably cantankerous at times, but he turned out to be the perfect surrogate father for Sierra.

Sierra was a strong woman determined to bury the demons in her past, and the wonderful support system she found in Colorado was a tremendous help, including her love interest, Conrad a local firefighter/paramedic. I enjoyed their slow burn romance which was realistic given each of their circumstances.

This book isn’t just about Sierra and Conrad, but it’s a continuation of the Sullivan’s Crossing saga and catching up with characters from the previous book, which I love. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next! 4,5 Stars

I LOVED this book! Robyn Carr has created a town where I'd love to live. Everyone cares about each other, and the romance in the story was very sweet. Robyn Carr is almost always an auto-buy for me (except for her women's fiction, which doesn't have the same magic).

Such a fun story! I adored Sierra and the rest of the gang from Sullivan's Crossing.
While there were some serious topics broached in this story, I found myself smiling more often than not as I watched the relationships grow between Sierra and Connie and Sierra and Sully.
I'm definitely planning to revisit Sullivan's Crossing in the future!

Any Day Now

Robyn Carr

ANY DAY NOW is the second book in the Sullivan's Crossing series. Sierra Jones is running from her past and decides to visit her brother Cal. She used to be a wild child but after successfully completing rehab, she is looking to begin her new life in Colorado. She is also running and hiding from a stalker who put her in a very bad situation. You can read ANY DAY NOW as a stand alone but why would you want to do that and miss out on the story of Cal and his beautiful wife, Maggie?

While trying to get her life together, Sierra meets firefighter Conrad who is also a paramedic. He is a good guy but holds his heart close to his chest as his last girlfriend cheated on him with one of his co workers. Sierra because of her past, isn't looking for a relationship either. Well you know how this is going to go right? Soon Sierra finds herself with lots of friends and much support in Sullivan's Crossing, but she never lets her guard down. ANY DAY NOW finds Sierra recounting the day her life changed and she ran, to the police. Hang on folks, the twists and turns will have you reading late into the night.

In ANY DAY NOW you also learn more about Tom and Lola. Both are single parents and trying to keep their heads above water. The last thing they think they need is a relationship so they decide to just be friends. Again, you know how that goes right? If you read the first book, you know what a nasty woman Tom's ex wife is. I'm so glad he got to have a nice woman in his life after Becky! Lola is a bit freaked out by Tom's kind words and runs away from him. But Tom won't be beaten and turns on his charm all that much more. I'm hoping his and Lola's story continues in the next book. I loved returning to Sullivan's Crossing to check in with my new bunch of friends. Robyn Carr always pulls me right in and hooks me from the very first page. She is an auto buy author for me and her characters always feel so real. They aren't perfect and while they all have flaws they are also very lovable. I can not wait to continue this series!

Review: Any Day Now was not at all what I was expecting. There were so many stories going on at once that intertwined seamlessly but there were also a few loose ends that I hope are resolved in the next book in the Sullivan’s Crossing series, The characters were complex and we learned about them a little at a time as their layers were drawn back. The story flowed smoothly and had a nice pace to it with some intrigue along with romance and love. Set in Sullivan’s Crossing, and the small towns of Timberlake and Leadville, Colorado, we learn about the campgrounds, the mountains and hiking trails along with the small towns surrounding Sullivan’s Crossing.

This is Sierra’s story but also the story of many whom become a part of her life – her brother Cal and his wife, Maggie, her love interest Conrad better known as Connie, Maggie’s dad, Sully, the townspeople and the dogs, Molly and Beau. Sierra is running away from Detroit after being in rehab and then a group home or safe house but it’s who and what led her there in the first place that is truly frightening. The recollections by Sierra as she reveals her encounters with and connection to Derek Cox gave me goosebumps and an uncomfortable feeling. She attends AA meetings and has a sponsor back where she ran from but needs someone nearby too. As she starts her new life and learns to open up to others we see how scared, hurt and lost she really is. One thing she does seem to have good control of is her sobriety which makes others around her proud. Having Molly at her side, even given the unusual manner in which she acquired her dog, often gives her the strength she needs. Having Connie as part of her life is good for her but also for him. The characters exes leave a lot to be desired!

The descriptions of the lands and views along with Cal and Maggie’s home being renovated from a barn, the businesses and the people were vivid and made me feel that I was there. The mishaps that Sierra gets into and the support she receives from others was eyeopening. There are heartwarming and heartfelt moments between the characters but some heartbreaking ones too. How her new “friend” Neely fits in is never truly explained but I know there’s got to be a dark side there. There are family and friends, secrets, truths revealed, work, kindness, helpfulness, homes, traditions being made, anger, hurt, sadness, tears, evil, family dynamics, crimes, happiness, laughter, loving and love. There are several happily ever afters and closure along with hints for what might be involved in the next book in the series.

Carr is a fairly new to me author since A Summer in Sonoma is the only other book I’ve read by her and that was three years ago! At that time I said I had missed her books along the way but hoped to rectify it. Unfortunately, I hadn’t in all that time. I hope to do better now since both books received five star ratings from me and Any Day Now is the second book in the Sullivan’s Crossing series. I plan to read the first book, What We Find, and hope there are many more books in the series. I’m glad that I reconnected with Carr and enjoyed this book as much as her first one that I read.

I did not want this book to end.
Sierra has lived a really tough couple of years. She has moved to Sullivan's crossing to be nearer her brother and sister-in-law.. Connie is a local firefighter and search and rescue volunteer.
They both have had bad relationships and are not sure if they want to try again. .
I highly recommend this title., you will be so glad you read it and like me looking forward to the next one.

This was my first time reading Robyn Carr, so I didn't know what to expect.

The heroine, Sierra, is a recovering alcoholic and she actually attends meetings and is active in her recovery. I don't recall seeing this in other romances. I thought that was treated very realistically. Sierra is trying to put her life together after going to rehab. As the story unfolds she lets us in on her reasons for checking in and there is a whole story there that I don't want to give away. I think Sierra's story was well handled. She had a lot to overcome and she did.

She moves to Colorado to be near her older brother, who was featured in the previous book. The small town contains a small and wonderful cast of characters. Very similar to Susan Mallery or Jill Shalvis books. If you like those, you will love this book.

I could have used a little more of the main love story between Sierra and her fella. Cal and his wife Maggie along with another side couple got page time. I could have done without it.

Overall this was a solid read. There were some choppy moments and continuity issues that I suspect were due to it being an ARC. I will definitely try some other books.

This book follows Sierra Jones who has moved to Sullivan's Crossing after finishing a stint in rehab and hiding from a bad date turn stalker. She's hoping by being with her brother California also known as Cal and his very pregnant wife Maggie that she can move on with her life. She learns alot about herself and what she is capable of while in Sullivan's Crossing. She finds herself bonding with Sully, Maggie's father and the local people there. It's also where she meets Conrad a great guy whose been handed a bad hand! Can the two grow together or are their baggage too much to handle?

I love going to Sullivan's Crossing it's such a close knit family who know alot about one another and welcome strangers with open arms. You feel like your part of the community and watch the relationships bloom. What I find great is the people there have flaws no one is perfect it's getting past the flaws that is the best part of it! You don't see the perfect girl with the perfect guy. You see imperfections and things they need to work on. And you get to see them work on themselves along with each other.

I think Sierra makes a wonderful and spunky addition to Sullivan's Crossing and anyone would be lucky to have a girlfriend like her. Can't wait to see what is next at Crossing!

Sierra shows up at Sullivan’s Crossing and finds more than just her brother and sister-in-law with welcoming arms. Sierra finds a father figure, some peace of mind, and Connie (Conrad) the firefighter.

Carr did a wonderful job pacing the romance and the family dynamics, making the relationships realistic as they grew. I liked that Sierra and Connie had a support system, and that the people around them were part of the fabric of the story – not just background characters.

I’m not exactly a fan of the “quirky drifters appearing at the campground” type setting of these Sullivan’s Crossing books … but the endearing characters make up for it.

Robyn Carr is definitely fantastic author because she knows how to write powerful women stories that pull the reader in. She will write realistic issues concerning women that reader can relate. It will be a different issue in any of her books. But the reader will also get to read how these strong women go through their issue and overcome the challenges concerning the issue.
Any Day Now is the second book in the Sullivan's Crossing series. It will introduce Cal sister, Sierra Jones. Sierra Jones is widely known in her family as the wild, free-spirited child. However, she has a lot more to offer than anyone can anticipate. She is finally making the right moves in her life by moving away and being closer to her brother, Cal, and staying sober. She is remaining sober for a good while that reader will read about her long struggle in remaining sober and challenges of being sober.
As Sierra gets more and more comfortable in town, she will meet a rugged firefighter, Conrad. Conrad works very hard in being a firefighter and paramedic that he barely have time in being a relationship. But things change when he meets the beautiful, Sierra. She is very different in what Conrad has experience that he goes in caution but still going in on way.
The relationship between Sierra and Conrad get closer, their chemistry gets more intense and serious. They have a huge attraction between them that it makes the romance so much better. The reader will enjoy their relationship very much.
Any Day Now is a perfect romance for any reader because you will get to read realistic challenges in life.
Five Stars!

Sierra Jones has had a pretty troubled life and is now ready to pursue a more productive path. She decides to visit her brother, Cal, in Sullivan's Crossing and what began as a short stopover turns out to be an indefinite stay.

This was a very compelling story as we followed Sierra's journey to sustained sobriety. I learned so much about the realities experienced by those recovering from addictions, things we take for granted but are serious triggers for the addict. She was a pretty woman with a not so attractive history and her honesty about it all was admirable. I liked her caution about her developing relationship with firefighter and medic Conrad (Connie) Boyle, despite his wonderful personality and full court press to hurry things along.

The secondary storyline involving a more mature couple was also interesting, addressing the issues faced by single parents trying to provide for their families and and have time for meaningful relationships. It was beautifully written.

The strong sense of community is an important element in this series and it resonated loudly in this story. There's also a suspense aspect I really enjoyed, adding even more tension and conflict to an already complex set of issues. I really enjoyed this book, especially the nail biting climax as Sierra's past returns in a terrible way. I'm looking forward to the return to Sullivan's Crossing.

A fun jaunt into a world of second chances looking for that elusive happily-ever-after! A great cast of characters gather round to support a lost soul who wants to change her life for the better. There is happiness and joy, sadness and pain and most of all, hope and love surrounding the plot. I enjoyed my trip to Sullivan's Crossing and would love to visit again!

Sierra Jones spent too many years just getting by and making excuses for why life was the way it was before she came to make big changes for the better ... and mainly by happenstance. She's not sure where life is going to take her going forward, but she knows she's going to go into it steadier and stronger than ever before. Her first stop is a visit to Colorado to visit her big brother Cal and his new wife Maggie. She's just planning on passing through, but after a warm welcome from the newlyweds and hitting it off with Maggie's dad Sully who runs The Crossing campground, she decides to stick around for awhile. Setting down roots seems to be a work in progress as she starts to collect a few friends, inherit a wayward pup and baby step her way into a possible relationship with a hunky man. Just when she starts to let her guard down, her past rears it's ugly head and threatens to crumble her very existence once again!

Robyn Carr has another winner here. I loved Sierra and cheered for her as she got her life together. Connie, her male love interest was a real sweetheart with just the right amount of masculinity--and who wouldn't love a cute puppy?

I liked watching Sierra reclaim her life after an abusive relationship but found the resolution of that plot line to be somewhat unrealistic.

Most of the time romance novels are about young adults just getting started in life, which I guess is because hopefully by the time people are middle-aged, they've met someone and settled into life together. Still, as someone who is on the far side of 40, I like seeing "older" couples and this book features one.

For those who like small town romances where everyone knows everyone, Any Day Now by Robyn Carr fits the bill if you don't mind a little steam.

I'd like to thank the publisher for making a review copy available via NetGalley. Grade: B+

ANY DAY NOW by Robyn Carr is the second instalment of her hugely popular Sullivan's Crossing series, and even though I did not read the first book, it didn't take anything away from this engaging novel which can easily be read as a standalone story.

Sierra Jones has moved to Colorado to be closer to her brother and his new wife and hopes that Sullivan's Crossing will be the perfect opportunity for a fresh start. A recovering alcoholic, Sierra is determined to leave her troubled past behind and wants to reconnect with her brother who was always there for her as a child. But when danger trails behind her and tries to pull her under, Sierra will discover so much more from this warm-hearted community who have taken her under their wing.

Through beautiful descriptions, this community comes alive and is the kind of place you long to live in. The characters in this story are so loveable because they are realistic - they have flaws, troubles, hopes, dreams, and fears, just like everyone has in the real world. Sierra is a remarkable character and I love her honesty, strength, and determination from start to finish in this story. ANY DAY NOW by Robyn Carr is a well-paced, captivating story of love, family, and fighting for your future, and I highly recommend it.
