In ANY DAY NOW by Robyn Carr, we are back at Sullivan's Crossing and camping season is just beginning. Carr hit it out of the park with the romance, local happens and suspenseful plot. Not since the Virgin River series have I enjoyed one of her books this much.

Carr shares Sierra Jones' story and introduces us to more locals, in particular, a hot Firefighter/EMT named Conrad, but folks call him "Connie." Sierra is Cal's younger sister. She's trying to rebuild her life and has come to Colorado. I quickly connected with Sierra and admired her strength. We learn she is on the road to recovery both from addiction and a troubled past that has left her scarred. Not wanting to crowd the newlyweds, she checks into a hostel but soon finds herself in one of the cabins at Sully's.

I really enjoyed catching up with everyone and the side threads and romance Carr shared in ANY DAY NOW. It felt like coming home and visiting old friends. The heart of the story, however, was Sierra and Carr had me flipping the pages hoping for an HEA. As Sierra settles in she soon finds herself building ties within the community. Her friendship blossoms with Sully. I adore Sully and the way he gets involved. Sierra finds work at the local dinner, saves a puppy and meets Conrad. While Sierra isn't ready to handle a relationship and doesn't trust her own feelings, Conrad soon shows her there are good people out there. I loved getting Conrad's back story. It was nice to have an honest to goodness good guy for a hero.

Side thread included a developing romance between two single parents, a strange woman who lies, and updates on characters we have previously met. I loved seeing Maggie and Cal. We catch up with them as they work on renovating their barn.

The suspense thread offered some nail biting moments and family reunions. It allowed Sierra to grow, become confident and faces her down her fears. Carr did an excellent job with character development, bringing to light addiction and showing how woman become trapped and abused by manipulators. She seamlessly shed light on these darker subjects while delivering a feel-good romance.

ANY DAY NOW was delightful from beginning to end. I cannot wait to return to Sullivan's Crossing.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
Any Day Now was a great follow up book in Ms. Carr’s new Sullivan’s Crossing series. I really enjoyed book one What We Find and enjoyed Any Day Now just as much. I really enjoyed watching Sierra try to portray herself as this tough as nails and I don’t need anyone person. Only for her to find out that while yes she is stronger than she thought. And the idea of having people in her corner is really not that scary.
I loved the dog saving scene. I loved that Sierra would risk herself to save such a sweet puppy.
Connie and Sierra are get together. It was great to see how patient Connie was with her. Letting her realize what he knew all along.
I can’t wait to see what is next for this series.

I was sent a copy of this book through the publisher.

I cannot believe this was my first Robyn Carr novel. Where have I been?

This book is the second in the Sullivan's Crossing series but works as a stand alone novel. I did not read the first book, and never felt lost of confused. It did make me want to read the first novel in this series though (which is a good thing).

I really liked the characters and the character development. It was easy to connect with the story. I was routing for the everything to work out in the end for everyone.

I also really enjoyed the writing style. It was easy to get into the plot, and everything just flowed nicely. I finished this pretty quickly and never felt bored or ready for it to be over.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and it has sparked my interest to read other Robyn Carr novels.

Any Day Now is a quick, easy read. Although the plot is rather predictable, the characters are interesting and believable.

Sierra Jones is a recovering addict, who chooses to spend time close to her brother and his new wife. She wants to make it on her own but sometimes you have to learn to lean on others even if it’s a crutch you were trying to overcome.

Sierra finds herself offered a home by Sully the owner of the Crossing. Not only does he give her a home but advice that Sierra desperately needs.

When her past catches up to her, Sierra really must rely on her new-found friends and the building trust in others to overcome someone with murderous intent.

Realistic people with realistic lives and issues makes Carr’s characters jump off the pages and into your heart. But most of all, it is real life romance with all its ups and downs that make these characters feel like friends that you've come to visit.

Fast, easy and highly entertaining, Any Day Now is a perfect example why I keep coming back to Carr’s writing time and time again.

I received this ARC copy of Any Day Now from Harlequin (US & Canada) - MIRA. This is my honest and voluntary review. This book is set for publication April 18, 2017.

Second in the Sullivan's Crossing series gives us Sierra Jones and
Conrad Boyle’s story. It can be read as a standalone.
Sierra is leaving behind a past filled with alcohol abuse and bad
life choices.
Determined to wipe clean her mistakes and begin again, if only she could remember.
Something happened to Sierra and as bits and pieces unfold the reality
of what occurred could rock her stability.
Thank God for brothers, as it’s Cal who offers a safe place to heal.
Good story with likeable characters, moved at a steady pace.
I adored Conrad/Connie, everything about him screamed man!
Fire fighter, search and rescue, totally buff and ready to put his
past where it belonged to pursue Sierra.
Sierra was remarkable.
The strength it took to accept she was an alcoholic and deal with the
fragments of hazy memories is not an easy task.
I cheered from the sidelines as their relationship developed.
Slowly at first, then it took off with warm touches and satisfying
moans of indulgence.
Contemporary romance
She put her arms around his neck and met his lips softly. Then she pulled him tighter and went in for the kill, kissing that sweet mouth of his like a starving woman.

with humor
“Connie,” she whispered. “I nailed him.”
and suspense.
And then… And then he convinced me. In a brutal way. In a terrifying way.
He said I would never tell anyone anything. Or I’d be sorry.

Another couple Tom and Lola are in the stages of what appears to be
a promising relationship.
I like them as a couple, I’m rooting for them!
HEA no cliffhanger.

This one really had a slow burn to it. A lot of that is due to what Sierra went through, I was glad that we didn't have the info dumped on us, but learned a little the more that we got to know Sierra. I did feel at times that the book got a little preachy with Sierra, her drinking and being in AA.

Sully's Crossing once again seemed to work it's magic on a person that need a quiet place to build themselves back up. I especially loved the friendship that grew between Sully and Sierra. I loved how at one point she told someone that Sully was the best friend that she had. The quiet way the two of them took care of the campground, store and campers was great! Even better was the way they looked after each other. Sully's advice to Sierra about Connie and the situation in her life that had her coming to the Crossing was perfect!

I loved Connie's approach to getting to know Sierra and then dating her. He was good about giving her space, yet letting her know what he wanted, her. Even as things turned physical between them Connie never pushed. I think a lot of it was due to the fact that he had been burned too, so he was just as skittish.

The drama at the end was a bit crazy! I was glad that Sierra could think on her feet, that there were more people looking out for her than she knew about and was glad that she nailed him.

The secondary romance between Lola and Tom was just as cute. Both had been burned too, plus Lola thought she was too old for that kind of non-sense. Good thing Tom was able to show her that wasn't the case.

This is book 2 in the Sullivan's Crossing series and it's a good one. Sierra has moved to town in hopes of bonding with her big brother and recovering from her traumatic past. Great story and the characters are wonderful. I don't think I've ever had a bad book from Robyn Carr. A great romance with some suspense thrown in as a bonus.

Another winner by Robyn Carr

I am a fan of author Robyn Carr and have been one for years. I've read all of her books and have never been disappointed.

I re-read the first book in this series WHAT WE FIND right before I
read this one and enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

ANY DAY NOW is the second book in the Sullivan's Crossing series. It takes us back to Sully's campground in the Colorado Rockies (one of my favorite places to be in real life - the Rockies that is).

Sierra Jones shows up in the area because her big brother Cal and his now pregnant wife live there. She has been through some very tough times over the last few months and wants to be near her brother and to feel safe.

I love that author Carr can take damaged characters and show them that life is worth fighting for because all, or at least most, of us are damaged in some way. She writes about courage, doing the right thing, and most of all hope.

I am a huge fan of Carr's Virgin River series but this one is starting out to be a favorite of mine too.

I received this book from MIRA Books through Net Galley in exchange for my unbiased review.

This book was so good. Genuine characters, great story line. Makes you want to find a spot like Sullivan's Crossing and move. Sierra and Connie are a cute couple. I hope there are many more to come in this series. I am enjoying it as much as the Virgin River series.

Second in a series about Sullivan's Crossing. As always, it was good to revisit old friends and discover new ones as they found their way through their personal demons. Hopefully there will be more to come in the series.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Received from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sierra Jones has come to Sullivan's Crossing in an attempt to hide out and leave her past troubles behind her. She is given the opportunity to re-connect with her older brother, Cal and meet his wife Maggie. She is hoping to get back on her feet while maintaining her sobriety. She quickly makes friends with those in town and becomes close friends with Sully (Maggie's father) who takes her under his wing and gives her good advice and guidance. She also meets the handsome Connie (Conrad) who is kind, brave and sensitive.

This book is the second in the Sullivan's Crossing series but works very well as a stand alone novel. What is nice about Robyn Carr's writing, in particular, her series is that she always brings in the characters from the previous books. The reader really gets a feel for the community and gets to see character development not only in the current book they are reading but in future books as well.

It was refreshing to see how Sierra was portrayed as brave and spunky while at the same time being vulnerable and tentative in approach to others. It was nice to see her come out of herself and begin to trust and confide in others. Until she ultimately was able to face her past with strength and integrity. I also liked how her relationship with both Sully and Conrad progressed. Sully became like a father figure to her while Conrad slowly became her love interest. I liked how both she and Conrad interacted and related to each other.

Carr's books feel authentic and real because her characters are "real" people in the sense that they are not billionaires falling in love with poor beautiful women. Her characters are firefighters, camp owners, bar owners, hair dressers, lawyers, etc. I believe that is why so many readers love her books. She writes about what the majority of people reading them can relate to:good hard working people who have flaws, who try hard, who struggle, who get back up when knocked down and form healthy relationships with others.

Like some of her books, there is more than one romance going on in her book. I only discussed one couple as they were the main couple in this book.

This book proved to be a fast read for me. Yes, it is a romance and the ending was somewhat predictable. Doesn't everyone find "true love" in this books. But what really worked in this book is the journey to falling in love. Carr also packs her books with various themes while makes her book more interesting and entertaining.

I always complain, in reference to romance books that: 1. They all want to get married in the end...and often the books end abruptly. I liked that she included an epilogue in this book. So many times I wish romance books would do this and Carr did.

Second trip to Sullivan's Crossing at the CDT.

Sierra moves to Sullivan's Crossing filled with self doubt.
She feels the promise of books pulling her in. Books were always their salvation growing up, their only means of learning while they traveled, the only real entertainment they had. While she gets comfortable in Sullivan's Crossing, we get more involved with her and her story. You will be rooting for her quickly.

I want more of Sullivan's Crossing. I want to live there!!

If you loved What We Find and have missed Sully, Maggie and Cal than wait no more. Robyn Car heard you loud and clear and her answer is ANY DAY NOW. It’s wonderful to revisit Sullivan’s Crossing and have a reunion of sorts with old friends. But don’t fret about missing any important facts if ANY DAY NOW is your introduction to what has been an amazing tale. Of course what else would you expect from unarguably one of the most prolific talented classy authors of our time – Robyn Carr. ANY DAY NOW is a lovely mixture of humor, edginess, humanity and passion.

Once again we see campers and hikers convening at Sully’s campsite from all walks of life and that’s what lends so much dimension to the story line of ANY DAY NOW.

Sierra learns a lot about herself through the somewhat uncommonly wonderful folk that populate Sullivan’s Crossing. Instead of judging these fine people lend support. In place of denigrating – they bolster confidence. Just what Sierra desperately needed at this crucial point in her life. She is not yet willing to release that hard fought control of her life to allow someone in or begin a relationship. Sierra is not ready to believe in a future. She is working too hard to maintain her present which at times is still a little shaky. You could say she is still looking for her new normal.

Meeting Conrad – affectionately known as Connie – has Sierra learning much about her expectations. She is definitely going to have to reevaluate her opinion of men in general and specifically Connie. He is larger in life and yet a total gentle giant. Connie seems to have a knack of creating calm in chaos. Candidly this is something Sierra is definitely in need of. Personally I can’t think of a better way to get a handle on your life, establish a home and really important that feeling of being love unconditionally than with a dog. In my family dogs have always held an important and adored position. Sierra is enjoying the love and companionship she has fostered with her rescued dog Molly. She loves being in the company of Sully, her brother Cal and his wife Maggie and the wonderful people of Sullivan’s Crossing. Hopefully her reluctance to being totally forthright and honest with Connie won’t ruin what could be the best relationship of her life.

Sure the couple at the center of ANY DAY NOW is indisputably Sierra and Connie but Robyn Car is sure to let us know there is a lot of life going on in Sullivan’s Crossing. I’d be totally remiss if I didn’t mention probably one of the most endearing couples ever and that is Tom and Lola. Practical, down to earth, single parents that suddenly realize they have much in common and then also recognize their mutual attraction. Tom is absolutely sigh worthy in his attempts at courting this lovely woman he’s know all his life.

ANY DAY NOW by Robyn Carr illustrates just how far someone can go with just a little tenacity. The theme of ANY DAY NOW is not surviving your past it’s about moving beyond it and that’s where the tenacity comes into play. For Robyn Carr it’s just not good enough to make it through one day at a time. She is looking forward to better days and that’s where she takes you in the journey of ANY DAY NOW.

Life can be a struggle, especially for Sierra Jones who has had to struggle from the time she was a little girl, living with a father with a mental illness, and seeing her brother, her protector, the one who cared for her, her best friend, leave home when she was only ten years old. Things go from bad to worse as she deals with alcoholism and a man who stalks her and abuses her in the worse way imaginable.

But after going into rehab, joining AA and staying sober for 9 months, she joins her brother and his pregnant wife in Colorado. In Sullivan's Crossing she finds the family she always wanted, including a substitute father in Sully and a hot fireman boyfriend, Connie. She even rescues a dog from its abusive owner.

Robyn Carr creates multi-dimensional characters who warm your heart and make you feel like you are part of the story. Sierra was a strong-willed woman learning to be independent. And Conrad (called Connie) was a sweet and sensitive man that I couldn't help falling in love with (Yes, another book boyfriend). And Sully was a straight forward lovable old coot! Even the miner characters were well developed. Tom and Lola (not THAT was a sweet romance), Cal and Maggie, and many more.

The story starts off slow. Very slow. I have to admit that I put the book down a few times because not much seemed to be happening except for a lot of dialogue being repeated over and over. But midway through the book the romance between Sierra and Connie heated up and there were lots of tingles leading up to the heavy stuff. And oh how I love tingles!

The real action didn't occur until the last 25 to 30 per cent of the book when everything fell together.

Generally, I prefer a book that hooks me and reels me in within the first few pages. This book did not do that but I'm glad I stuck with it because it definitely got better as it progressed.

Sienna has come to Sullivan's Crossing after alcohol rehab. Her brother lives there and she wants to be near family while she gets her life back on the right track after years of bad choices. As part of AA she is trying to make amends to people she hurt in the past. She also has a secret that pushed her to go to rehab and finally admit she had a problem with alcohol.

This is the second book in the Sullivan's Crossing series but could be read on its own. This is primarily Sienna's story but characters from the first book are a big part of this story. There are several sub plots about other characters. I loved reading this book and hated to see it end. There is a character in the book that I am hoping to see in another future novel. We need to know her story. I hope the author takes us back to Sullivan's Crossing in a future book. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This is the second in the Sullivan's crossing series. You do not have to read the first book to read this. In the first few chapters its explained that the heroine in this book is the sister to the hero in the first Sullivan's book. Sienna has come to Sullivan's crossing at her brothers insistence. Sienna has just come from a rehab clinic in which she is dealing with being an Alcoholic. The novel is similar to the previous title in the sense it not only covers the main characters but it has sub characters stories. Sienna makes an effort to be on her own and tells her brother Cal she will not be staying with him and Maggie. She begins staying at a Hostel but eventually takes a cabin in Sully's home(Maggie the heroine from the previous book father). Sully runs a shop in which hikers and individuals with RV passes through the quaint town. I actually found myself loving this title more. In the first book to me it took awhile before any excitement or action took off. In this title right away we find out not only Sienna is an alcoholic but she has been holding a secret for so long that this was one of the reasons that pushed her to rehab. Two months into her new home she strikes up a friendship with the firefighter Conrad or Connie as he is called. She at first ward him off about not being interested in a relationship but one night after out walking the dogs she sprained her ankle and was rescued by Connie and so started the romance/relationship. We catch up with Maggie and Cal who are about to expect their first baby and we get to see their progression as married couple. We also meet up again with Tom and his family. As stated there is a sub-story Tom and Lola starting a friendship that seem like it would be more. As previously mention something in Sienna past is keeping her from going all in with Connie and its only matter of time it catches up were her and she has to deal with the consequences. Throughly enjoyed this novel would have love to know the truth behind Neely maybe this might be explain in another book of Sullivan's crossing. Review is in goodreads and amazon(by publishing date)

Carr always takes her time setting the scene. Even though we have been to Sullivan's Crossing before, we approach with slow deliberation. Last year we met California and his wife Maggie in What We Find. They both needed a life change and found each other. This year Sierra comes to the crossing because her brother is here. She is also in need of change.

Conrad cannot shake his nickname Connie, oh well. He rolls as easily with his name as he does everything else in his life. Sully is a friend and there is always something that needs to be done at the crossing. Now there seems to be some added scenery that may need some work too. Connie can be the friend that Sierra needs to get herself back on her feet and help defeat her past.

I never know where we go from here. Carr doesn't leave us hanging at the end. The next in the series will be completely new without needing to read previous instalments, but I highly encourage them all.

My first Robyn Carr, and my first in the series (this is book 2). I liked the main female character, but found the male lead to be a little wooden. I'm intrigued about the next couple in the series as I think the set up was very well done for the two of them.
