If you find adult language disturbing, this is not the book for you.

Slow to start, the story does pick up some as the story evolves. I enjoyed the story and the setting. The author paints a picture so well, at times you feel you are actually in the scene .

I generally enjoy legal thrillers, but, at times in this story I felt I needed a law degree. It was fast paced and exciting at times but I also found large pockets of tediousness .

Over all, it held my attention enough that I will read this author again.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read Beach Lawyer by Avery Duff. A attorney winds up in jail - he is a beaten man; so he reflects on how he got to this point. The book takes the reader back 8 weeks prior to this incarceration.
The protaganist, Robert Worth, is an attorney who wants to be on the fast track - he works hard, kisses ass, and gets alot of billable hours. He is taken aback when a client is treated badly and he sticks his neck out for her, and finds that this firm's arm has a long reach.
I was thinking of Lincoln Lawyer when I started this book (which is a fantastic book), but this novel doesn't have that pull. I wanted to like this book, but found some of the diaglog confusing and had to re-read it to understand who was saying what - and the lead character lacked any emphathy. Just ok for me.
