Bossed was an enjoyable read. Filled with great witty banter and sweet moments. Jenny and Ethan brought chemistry and were really sweet together.

This is one of those all round feel good stories.

Jenny is so sassy, she's a no nonsense girl who takes no prisoners while still being a really nice person. I loved her really sharp wit.

Ethan comes across as quite an arrogant so and so when we first meet him but it soon becomes apparent that it's all a front to cover up quite an insecure person. It's so true when they say your childhood shapes the person you become as an adult.

The chemistry between these two is instantaneous, it's burns hot right from the start and loved how hard Ethan tried to ignore it, made it even more explosive when they both finally gave in. Their banter was so funny, made me laugh out loud a few times.

I really enjoyed Matt, the bromance scenes added a really fun dynamic to the story. The side characters really made the story.

If your looking for a book to lift you up this is definitely the story for you.

I was not expecting the story that I ended up reading in Bossed. Sloane Howell hit one out of the park with this book. I absolutely, positively loved it! It was fresh, exciting, sad, happy, fun, loving, sexy as hell … well, the list goes on and one. So, what I did expect was a take-charge boss and a sassy secretary. What I got was a take-charge boss with issues because of his past, a woman who can seriously hold her own against him … consequences be damned, and BASEBALL!

Jenny is a hot-mess when she walks into her interview. Raised by a single father, she knows how to dish out the sass and the come-backs as well as any man on the planet. Knowing the interview is blown, she decides to leave with her dignity, her head held high and a parting statistic for the prick behind the desk. She’d put him in his place and leave knowing that he just let the best candidate for the job walk out of his office.

Mason was not ready for Jenny. He screwed up every piece of common sense that he had. She was smart, sassy and could probably recite stats better than him. A sexy, baseball loving woman that he could not – would not, hire. There was no way he could work with her. Then, why did he hire her on the spot after she schooled him?

From the time Jenny is hired, Mason cannot keep his head in any game. She put him in his place whenever she got the chance. She called him on his inappropriate behavior, his treatment of his employees, his attitude. She didn’t stand for anything … and that just turned him on more. It was time to get the game out of the first inning, grab his balls, act like a man and take charge. Yea, fat-chance on that. He soon found out that the only place she would even allow him to think he had control was in the bedroom.

I can honestly say that I laughed my ass off through most of this book. There was the issue with Jenny’s dad and the outcome that I suspected, but, how we got to the end of this story was just so much fun. I loved watching Mason turn from a bastard to a human being. I loved Jenny’s way of getting him there. Seeing the air knocked out of his lungs, his feet swept out from under him was just so enjoyable.
The supporting characters were required to make this story work. Matt Stallworth was the perfect man to compliment Mason. Knew him better than anyone else and knew that it was time for some hard love to get his head out of his ass. And, Kelsey was the perfect fit for Jenny. Between Matt, Kelsey and Mr. Jackson, Mason and Jenny didn’t stand a chance of not being together.

Sloane Howell’s writing was spot on. It was fresh and exhilarating. What angst there was in the book was needed and not overly done. The characters all came alive and there was nothing that disappointed me in the least. He honestly wrote a true romance with a hint of kink, a love story with a very fitting HEA and a book that I will definitely go back to when I need a fix.

Sloane Howell is an auto-buy for me because she never disappoints. She knows how to write characters and their stories and doesn't miss a beat. Bossed is no different. I quite enjoyed the characters, dynamics, banter, chemistry, writing style and flow. It definitely keeps you hooked and rooting for them, maybe want to make you face palm a time or two and also fan yourself when their chemistry goes off the charts whenever their in close proximity.

"Bossed" sounded like an entertaining work romance and I was looking forward to read it. Unfortunately the book couldn't live up to my expectations.

From the beginning I had a hard time getting into the story and everything felt very distant and I wasn't able to get a connection to the characters. I had hopes this would get better throughout the story but unfortunately it didn't.

The characters were totally getting on my nerves, espacially the female protagonist. She was a totally childish brat and made a drama out of every little small thing. This was seriously annoying and I couldn't stand her at all. Ethan was a very strict boss and I didn't like how he treated his employees. The changes in the characters behaviours came too quickly and Jenny and Ethan weren't really working as a couple for me either. The sexual chemistry was good but that's it.

Bossed - Sloane Howell

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I reviewed this book voluntarily for an honest, unsolicited and uncompensated review.

Jenny Jones doesn't have the luxury of working at a dead end job. She's got a ton if medical bills to pay for her sick dad and the job she's about to interview for with Mason and Associates will more than help cover her dads expenses. Unfortunately, her smart, sassy mouth just might be her undoing in this interview, when she's pushed to retaliation by the ever so smug, Ethan Mason, Super hot and oh so sexy Agent to the baseball stars and inner of the company.

Their initial interaction is incendiary and you just know that this is going to lead to some brilliantly sparked situations and Sloane Howells clever dialogue doesn't disappoint.

Throughout the book, Sloane delivers not only a clever, witty and funny story, but ventures into a seriously emotional side if these characters. Supporting characters in Matt and Kelsey, easily endear themselves and I'm pleased to know that they will get their voices in an upcoming book.

Overall, I'm not normally a person who is passionate about sports romances as they're not the usually genre I prefer but this was a great story with real people and so well written and polished, one I will recommend without reservation.

Thanks for opening my eyes to a new genre Sloane. Can't wait for Kelsey and Matts book.

Let's get to it...
I liked this book, it's an 'office romance' type of trope, which is something I like a lot!
The sex in here was hot, but they have a lot of f*cking sex.
Ethan and Jenny have some good chemistry and appear to trust one another, sort of.

I didn't truly understand why or how Ethan is so enticed by Jenny on the level that he was. I never understood how Ethan could be such an a**hole to the people in his work place but treat her so damn good..

The two POVs I appreciated, if there was more to read, I likely would read it.

If Ethan was a bit more of a better character, I think I could've enjoyed this more.
If the over the top Jenny stuff was tamed, I also would've enjoyed this more.

This is a quick easy read, Ethan and Jenny had instant chemistry. It was good to see Ethan become more fun loving. Matt and Kelsey were great secondary characters. I would highly recommend this story.

Love this book, from the smirky cover to the terrific story inside. Sloane Howell wows me with his snarky wit, his smart dialogue, and his steamy scenes between the sheets.

Ethan and Jenny have a love/hate working relationship, but some of that tension is definitely sexual. This office romance is a bit predictable, but no less enjoyable. The banter between the characters is fun, the emotions they exhibit are real.

This was a quick read for me, and well worth it!

Ethan and Jenny meet under odd circumstances. With their witty banter and insults tossed at one another, you would think they were enemies instead of strangers. Jenny is on her way to an interview and little does she know the man she just had words with is the same man that could possibly be her new boss.
With friends helping them navigate their feelings, the relationship between Ethan and Jenny is hot and fun to read about.
This was a hilariously fun book to read. 4.5 stars"

Jenny Jackson needs a job, a good paying job, stat. Her father has a terminal diagnosis and his medical bills are piling up sky high. When she has a horrible interview, where she insults the boss, she expects to walk out without a job offer, but something about her cocky assurance and calling him out has him intrigued and she gets the job. Needless to say, she and Ethan Mason (said boss) do not get along, but the sexual tension is palpable between them. He can't get her out of his head and it's really, really affecting his work. She stands up to him, calls him out and basically acts like no one else ever has around him. He can't help but be fascinated, not to mention he's head over heels in lust with her. But, they both have walls and rules about no fraternization. He especially, has problems with sleeping with coworkers, thanks to what happened to his parents' marriage.

I have to say, in the beginning, I didn't like Ethan. He was pretty cruel to Jenny, well, to everyone. But, once he opened up about why, and let himself be vulnerable to Jenny, I fell for him. He's actually a really good guy with a generous soul. When he changed I was cheering because I knew he didn't really change, he just let his true self show through. On the other hand, I didn't like Jenny aside from her feistiness, her dad and her best friend, Kelsey. Jenny was deliberately cruel to Ethan, even when he didn't deserve it. I do like that she stood up for herself, but she went much further than that and into being malicious and cruel. I understand that she was hurting, and grieving, but it doesn't excuse the way she treated Ethan, at all. If I had been him, no matter how much I were in love with her, I would have washed my hands of her at that point.

First time reading this author and was Not disappointed! No Spoilers!! Ethan Mason is the boss with a job opening that Jenny Jackson really needs (for reasons , which you will read about :)). Great chemistry with all the characters including Jenny's friend Kelsey and Ethan's friend Matt . Bossed has humor, sadness and steamy sex scenes that will keep you entertained! Overall a very good read.

On the way to an interview ends up bumping into the biggest jerk she ever met. He immediately gets under her skin with his pompous attitude and Jenny has no problem giving him a piece of her mind. However, Jenny doesn't realize that the man she just told off is the man she needs to interview with. Realizing that the interview is a big waste of breath she gives him hell and a little wisdom rolled into one.

Ethan hires the firecracker who he is attracted to. He is only interested in keeping it professional but Jenny has wiggled her way into him wanting more and he is about to break the rules to get the woman he wants. Will Jenny agree he is worth the chance?

This was hilarious. I loved the chemistry between Ethan and Jenny, wanted more way more of this couple. Definitely need to go back and check out more from this author.

Jenny is the second heroine today who blamed the hero for something that wasn't his fault. Ethan has done so many bad things and Jenny got mad at him for the wrong reason. Ethan is easily one of the worst heroes of 2017, if not of all time. From the moment we met him he seemed cocky and arrogant and not in a sexy way. He was mostly mean to his stuff even if he did some good things for his employes/ I just wasn't able to buy that he is a good person.Jenny tried to be a good and sassy heroine, but she failed. I am still wondering how not only did she managed to get the job, but also how she managed to keep it. She was missing from her work longer than she was in it. I know the hero is the boss but I would still fire her if I were him. It's bad for business. Also for a newly hired person, she acts like she is equal to Ethan, the owner and founder of the company. The death in the end of the book came out of the blue and I don't feel like he was mourned as much as he should have been. That and Jenny's behavior cemented the death of this book for me.

I really loved this book. There was just the right amount of humor, drama and sexiness.

Jenny is super sassy and Ethan is a smokin' hot alpha bad boy. Their banter back and forth is so much fun to read. This is a very well written story with great supporting characters and not too many sports references. Can't wait for the next book!!
