Good read.

Kylie Scott classic.

Good continuation in the series. Smashed this book in a day.

Alex is traveling to small town in Idaho to finally meet her online date partner who she has been emailing. She usually doesn't travel often but her best friend Valerie encouraged her and she finally decided to take a big leap and travel to meet her online date. Everything changes when she arrives at Dive Bar to meet Eric but he doesn't seem like the person she has been emailing for last several months and he is denying all the email. She can't believe she traveled all this way to find out her dream date Eric with perfect physique, looks and personality on email wasn't who she thought he was.
Joe knew his brother very well and when he setup the dating profile, he knew Eric would lose interested as soon as he is done with creating. But something drew him to Alex and he has been disguise as him and emailing her. However, when she showed up at his brother's birthday bash, he knew he had to explain and apologize.
Alex had to get far away and back to Seattle ASAP but she falls ill and Joe volunteers to take care of her while she was fallen ill.
Now, Joe and Alex are thrown together and figure out if they move on from their identity switch. Both characters are strong willed and funny. They will have to find out if they really can give each other another chance and trust again.
Story moves quickly and it can be standalone ( I didn't read the first one.)
Thanks to Netgalley and ST. Martin Griffin for ARC in exchange for honest review.

When I read Dirty, the first book in Kylie Scott’s Dive Bar series, I knew this series was going to be special; each and every one of the characters intrigued me and screamed to have their story told. Ms. Scott manages to make a big lie, a case of mistaken identity, a bout of the flu, growing attraction, and a tragedy all into a fabulous romance in Twist. As I reflect back on this story, I realize this couple had a lot of ups and downs, but through it all their relationship blossomed and as the navigated each crazy, awkward incident their bond grew and it became evident this couple was one who together could get through anything life throws their way.

Stepping way out of her comfort zone Alex Parks flies from her home in Seattle to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to surprise the man she’s been emailing with through a dating website on his birthday. To say she’s a bit surprised by what she finds is saying the least, but as this story unfolds taking that risk was the best thing to ever happen in her life.

Always the caretaker and peacemaker of his family and his ragtag group of friends all Joe Collins wanted to do was help his younger brother fine a nice woman to settle down with. He honestly never meant to lead a woman on through emails, but conversing with Alex was the highlight to his days and having someone he hadn’t known his entire life to talk candidly with proved to be just what he needed until she shows up to surprise Eric, the man she thinks she was talking to, only to find him.

You know those people who always manage to make a grand entrance no matter where they are? Well, that’s how I feel about Kylie Scott. Each and every book she writes the first scene, the first chapter sucks you in and won’t let go. I devoured this book in a few hours because I could not put it down. First off Joe…OMG, he is my perfect kind of guy. I know so many readers go for the “bad boy” types, but I’ve always had a thing for the “good guy.” I love men who always try to do the right thing, the ones who put others before themselves, and had only the best intentions even when they go astray. There’s no doubt Joe made a big mistake with Alex, but I really don’t think he did it with harmful intentions and it honestly made me sad that he didn’t come clean with her because he’s always taken a backseat to his brother whose movie star good looks have gotten him everything and anyone he wanted. I’m not defending his actions, just saying I could understand them. That being said, Joe went above and beyond to try and make things right with Alex and because he showed her exactly the type of man he was she couldn’t help but begin to fall for him even though she was determined not to.

I loved the way this relationship played out and that even though they knew a lot about one another, they didn’t have an easy time of it. My emotions were all over the place with this story and there were times they both ticked me off, but the way they fell for one another was nothing short of magic. With each passing day the attraction and admiration for one another grew and when they finally decided to get physical, whew! Cold showers for everyone!

For someone who lives a pretty solitary life Alex was a bit overwhelmed by the Dive Bar crew, but they went out of their way to help her and she quickly realized how amazing and unique they all are, I honestly love this crew. A bit of a cameo appearance by some pretty famous friends made me one happy reader girl for sure!

With characters that jump off the page and into your heart, a compelling storyline that has you on the edge of your seat, and a romance that starts as a slow burn and rages into an inferno, Twist was an exceptional story and I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

I loved Kylie Scott's Dive Bar series and this standalone in the series offers a different side in an interconnecting world but with the style that we come to love from Kylie Scott. Also, who doesn't love a hot bearded bartender like Joe? Alex was the one to change his mind and perspective on things when he started to become jaded and give up (on online dating). She woke him (and his beast) up, which was what he didn't think he needed.

Sadly I wasn't a fan of this one. I'm actually disappointed by it. Sure it was a quick read but it felt so rushed and frantic and it left me wanting better for the series and the characters. There was just something lacking and it left me sad because the Stage Dive series was just so good. The characters almost felt boring and in the end, it didn't make me want to run out and read the next book.

I’m sure this book has probably been a reality for someone, somewhere. Meet someone online, go to meet them, find out it’s not really them. Surprise! Not! Alas, we have Joe and Alex, who meet online under Eric’s profile. After exchanging emails for months, Alex decides to surprise ‘Eric’ for his birthday, only it’s Alex who gets the surprise of her life. Now Joe is doing all he can to convince her to stay and give him a chance. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I did want to slap Joe a time or two towards the end, but he finally comes around in the end. And as always, I loved the cameos by my favorite Stage Divers! This book has tons of humor and some seriously panty melting moments. Can’t wait to read Chaser and see what woman brings the manwhore that is Eric to his knees.

I'm a huge fan of Kylie Scott and she didn't disappoint with this book. The chemistry is off the charts and the hero is the perfect blend of sexy alpha sweetness with a 'twist' of jerkiness to keep you on your toes.

GAH.
I don't want it to be finished.
When is the next one coming out??

The reason this is "only"4 stars? Joe.
The reason this is a gushing 4 stars? Joe.

Twist is Scott at her best! Lots of emotional investment into quirky unique character. Good smut. Well written.
JUST GREAT!

I was really looking forward to this book!!! I loved the ones before so I was expecting to be amazing. I couldn't connect with the characters or the story. I was invested in the series but this one just fell short. for me. Maybe it was because I never liked the character from previous books?

I read the previous book in the series and I love this one. It starts out totally unbelievable. I mean how many people would stay and get to know someone who lied to them from the very start. But Kylie Scott does a great job at turning the implausible, plausible. The character interactions are great, most times secondary characters are hit or miss. I really can't wait to read the last one.

This book has it all, it gave me feels, had my heart racing and left me with a huge smile in my face !

The 2nd in the Dive bar series, and the best one yet, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and right from the start you could see there was going to be trouble, heartache and a serious connection.

The clever banter is what I love about Kylie's books and the fact that they are so easy to fall into, it takes one sitting to read with no problems at all. I'm definitely looking forward to the next in the series as this book has helped get a better understanding of some of the characters in the Dive Bar x

I'm really frustrated with the Dive Bar series. I fell in love with Kylie Scott and her writing and her characters when I found Lick so many years ago at the library, but Dive Bar hasn't lived up to the excellence I found in Stage Dive. The characters just aren't as compelling as they once were. I liked Twist better than Dirty, though, which was nice.

However, I'm Not impressed with the use of both the term spirit animal (particularly because it is used in reference to a logo on Alex's underwear. That's incredibly offensive to the Native community, and I wish that Kylie and St. Martin's would change that in future editions and the ebook) as well as some of the language used when Alex is describing her best friend's transition after high school and misgendering her friend. Referring to Val by her name before her transition (deadname) and calling her a boy are hurtful to transgender people. While I appreciate a mainstream romance writer broadening the scope of the characters represented in her books, it's important to make sure the language is correct and appropriate to prevent misinformation and possible harm to members of the represented marginalization.

Joe ... are you for real?? Swoon ...
Kylie Scott knows how to write memorable and fun opening scenes! I loved it.
There is something in the air in Cœur d'Alene. Can't wait to read the next one.

So, I began my Kylie Scott journey with the Stage Dive series. During that time, I fell in LOOOOOVE with Mal ❤ When the Dive Bar series began, I was super excited! I love series that are connected, but leave a little freedom if you haven’t finished all the books in both series. The Dive Bar series allows you this. You get glimpses of the Stage Dive members, but if you don’t know them then it’s still okay.

In Twist, we get to know Joe & Alex. When I began reading, I went in with expectations that this book would be similar to Vaughn’s story, but that was a mistake. This book has the same feel, but Joe is a completely different man and I should have KNOWN the book would be different. It was, but in a good way.

I absolutely adored Joe. He was a man who wanted to badly to help others, but in doing that seemed to lose himself. Although he makes some poor choices, he ultimately finds his way. Alex is a great person, but she keeps herself hidden from the world. She allows her past to affect pretty much her entire future. Together, they seem to find a balance that will let them grow into the future they are absolutely capable of having.

I definitely enjoyed reading this book. It didn’t bring me the same amount of laughter as the first Dive Bar story, but it did make me laugh. It also gave me a whole lot of feels – I got angry, annoyed, frustrated, and did a bit of swooning. Overall, highly recommended. If you haven’t experienced any of the Dive Bar or Stage Dive novels … GO DO IT. I’m talking about RIGHT NOW. Except, when you fall in love with Mal, please remember he’s mine ❤

With each new release I read from Kylie Scott, I am amazed at how much I love her writing more and more each time. Twist was no exception to this as she takes a case of mistaken identity to a new level with two introverted characters looking for love and companionship via the online dating world. Unfortunately our heroine, Alex, is in for quite a shock when she decides to do something completely out of character by spontaneously showing up in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, of course at the behest of her best friend, to surprise the man she's been emailing with for his birthday. Now I won't get into too much detail and give things away, but let's just say that our hero, Joe, has a lot of explaining to do...

So right from the start, I was hooked...line and sinker...and I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed the witty dialogue between these two adorably well-matched characters, and boy did they pack some heat in the chemistry department as well despite them both believing that they were neither ones ideal. Joe was such a sweetheart helping Alex, but I think Alex stole the show for me in the end with how she stood up for Joe. They were both great characters and their story was thoroughly enjoyable, so I highly recommend it.

A romantic oomedy with all the feels! I absolutely love Kylie Scott's work. We find Joe tyring to find a way to come clean with Alex - but when they unexpectedly come face to face - the time to come clean is now. Great new series from Scott.

There is just something comfortable about reading a book from an author whose work I have come to love and trust as a guaranteed happy read for me. As soon as I was about 10 pages into this story I was hooked and by the end of the second chapter I had fallen for Joe Collins. All I could do was wait for Alex to feel the same way too 

Alex and Eric have been corresponding with each other via email for the past six months. They have shared many personal stories with each other, discussed their future hopes & dreams and the ease of the friendship they have is what makes Alex decide to finally visit him in person.

Okay it was actually Alex’s best friend Val who pushed her to take that step, book a flight and show up at Dive Bar to meet the man she has been falling for online. He just seems to be perfect for her and may just be the one. One small thing she doesn't know though, the man she is emailing is not who she thinks it is and therefore showing up at Eric's private birthday party to surprise him may turn out to not be what she had quite envisioned.

Alex’s appearance at Dive Bar was definitely a surprise…. For everyone. I was cringing at the scene being described and almost didn’t want to look at my kindle screen but I couldn’t look away either. Needless to say everything goes tits up and she leaves under a cloud of absolute humiliation.

The thing about talking to a stranger online is that they could be anyone really. You are counting on them being as honest as you are and trust that the connection you have is real. Alex is furious at herself and the situation she is now in. However, most of her anger is now directed at the person that fooled her. Joe Collins is a man she now has at the top of her shit list.

Joe never expected Alex to show up at the Dive Bar and now he has a huge mess to deal with. Despite the fact that he pretended to be Eric, he does not have the same character traits as his brother. Joe is a genuinely sincere and nice guy. His remorse for this situation is evident in the way he treats Alex after he convinces her to talk to him.

Everything about the friendship they had online was 100% him, apart from his name and appearance. Alex is feeling conflicted, Joe is not even her type and he has a long beard, she hates beards! However, once she sees her way past the humiliation and anger she realises what a great guy he is.

Joe and Alex had been building this amazing friendship to the point where they looked forward to their daily online interaction. Alex is a bit of a homebody and in some ways a bit of a recluse, often saying no to social invitations. Joe is more of a yes man, to the point that he hardly ever says no to friends and family, despite his own personal wants and dreams. He has enjoyed having Alex to email and talk with, he doesn't want to lose her from his life now.

The one thing that Joe hasn't experienced over the past few years is someone willing to fight in his corner for him and when tragedy hits the Dive Bar family, Alex shows him with her actions that real friends do just that. Things may feel out of control but this girl seems to be able to centre him, expecting nothing in return. Maybe something good can come out of this whole twisted mess after all?

Oh and in case you are wondering..... there is plenty of hot sexing in this story and I think a certain male needs to be crowned as the King of Pussy Eating.
That. Is. All.
