The follow up to Dirty. I enjoyed the main couple, Joe and Alex more than I did the couple from the first book. Joe takes over his brother's online dating profile and of course doesn't tell the women he is communicating with. Alex shows up at the bar and so the story begins. Joe spends a lot of time trying to show Alex that he is a decent man. Despite her initial reaction, Alex is attracted to Joe. When she gets sick and ends up staying in town for days, their attraction and friendship grows.

The side plot with Nell, Eric and Pat continues. But it seemed somewhat less than the first book, and that made me unhappy. I am really interested in Nell and Pat. I want them to have their story told.

I did enjoy Joe and Alex. Joe is kind of fucked up, harboring issues with his dad and brother and his need to make people happy. He is kind of shitty to Alex, but she said strong, didn't give up. After the big misunderstanding, I felt like Alex had to do a little too much apologizing, but not enough to make me mad.

Eric is still a dick, but I will probably read his story too. At the very least hoping to get more info on Nell and Pat.

I love Kylie Scott's books and this 2nd one in her Dive Bar Series kept me interested and entertained. In this one, Joe pretends to be his brother, Eric, when he meets Alex through an online dating service. When Alex finds out, she feels really betrayed. Joe will have all he can do to convince Alex that only his name was a lie.

This one had great characters and an interesting storyline. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

It’s official. Kylie Scott has another winning series. And here I thought nothing will ever beat her Stage Dive series. Well, move over Mal, because I have another blonde beast that I’m crushing on. He’s big, he’s bearded, he’s broody, and he makes my ovaries sing. Joe. *Happy sigh*
His golden mane flowed down over his wide shoulders, a beard covering the bottom half of his face. I guess it kept him warm in the winter, but seriously. Who needed that much hair?
With her signature witty banter and humor, Kylie Scott delvers another swoony and addicting read that will have readers hooked from cover to cover. Just when I thought I loved Vaughan, in comes Joe with his silent intensity and beard, and totally wins me over. Alex Parks fared no better. She was a goner at first sarcasm.
Alex has never had a serious relationship. As a matter of fact, just the thought of commitment gives her hives. Boyfriend? No thanks. They’ll only lie and betray you. A hot one night stand to scratch an itch? Sign her up! But then she meets a man on a dating site that makes her rethink her stance. She’s never met him, but their email exchanges are more intimate then she’s ever been with any other. When he stop responding to her emails, she figures why not surprise him…only to get the surprise of a lifetime. Because, Eric, the man she thought she was talking with, has no idea who she is. And the man that she’s actually been spilling her guts to is his brother, Joe.
What begins as a trade of snark and sarcasm, soon turns into an unlikely friendship, that soon turns into something much more and something neither of them expected.
Joe, the man formerly known as just my friend, was some kind of fucking sex god.
Joe was such a refreshing change of pace. This is not a player or a cocky alphahole. This man exudes stability and dependability. He’s sweet, supportive, hard working, and he knows exactly how to break down all of Alex’s walls. He does it so unassumingly too, that she never sees it coming.
Kylie Scott created such multilayered characters with these two. I adored Alex and all her quirks. She wasn’t perfect and she knew her faults, but she owned them. I loved her friendship with her best friend and the way they had each other’s back. I also loved Joe’s quiet intensity. He wasn’t a man of many words, but the few that he did have were always meaningful and they never failed to affect Alex on every level.
Butterflies didn’t cover it. There were pterodactyls inside my stomach, swooping and screeching and flying around. Not even they, however, could compete with the throbbing ache in my pussy.
Twist is a story that isn’t all wit, humor and steam. There’s also an serious undercurrent to it that I absolutely adored. It dips into acceptance and strength and perserverence. It really delves deep into embracing our differences and moving past the cruelty of others. It was such an emotional part of the book for me to read and I seriously love that Kylie wove that into the story.
As for the romance? Well you already know that I loved it. I also loved catching up with the rest of the gang. If it’s possible, I can dare say that even Eric is starting to grow on me. Which is good, considering his book is next. I can’t wait to meet the woman that will bring this manwhore to his knees.
I’m also willing to beg for a book for Nell. Not that the part we got for her wasn’t satisfying, but I’d seriously kill for more.
But ultimate, Twist was another winner for me. I loved it just as much as the first book and can’t recommend it enough for readers that love their romance with a splash of witty humor.
Once my guard was down, due to complete and utter exhaustion, Joe had cuddled me. It was terrible, disgusting. Fingers caressing me, lips pressing soft kisses to my shoulder and the back of my neck. Normally I’d never allow it, but it felt so good.

5 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, pain, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Dirty (Dive Bar #1)

This is Alex and Joe’s story. After his brother loses interest in online dating Joe logs in to shut down the account. But when he reads about Alex he is hooked. She seems like the perfect one for him. As they get to know each other in email both are keeping secrets. Are these secrets going to bring them together or rip them apart? The chemistry and banter they two share is entertaining. But will the misleading end up being the end of them? Or will they be able to forgive and start fresh?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

This was a very enjoyable read that I enjoyed from the start to finish. Kylie Scott is one author that I one click straight away and love her books from the very start.

I fell head over heart for this author with her Stage Dive series. Especially when she gifted us with Mal who is my absolute dream guy. Seriously if you haven't read that series, you need to stop reading and do that now. What I love about Kylie's stories is that she makes me laugh out loud with these characters she created. Their dialog is super smart and sassy and sexy all wrapped into one. That is just as true with her Dive Bar series and definitely with Joe and Alex. I loved that these two connected on a dating site. There is so much more to that story, but I don't want to give too much away. There is some serious chemistry between these two and Kylie definitely gives good sizzle. I loved their story and can't wait to read more in this series. Heck, anything she writes I will be reading. Especially if she keeps giving me my Mal fix.

I give Twist 5 hearts!

I’m always searching for authors I can count on to deliver, and I think Kylie Scott will make the list. Twist is the first book I’ve read by her and the second in the Dive Bar series, but it was satisfyingly steamy with a healthy dose of humor.

This book was a great standalone, but I’m definitely interested in seeing the stories for other characters. I’m a little disappointed that we won’t get to see Nell & Pat’s story because they seem like such an unlikely couple…. and Pat sounds pretty hot. Small disappointment aside, I’ve already pre-ordered Chaser, the third book in this series, and hope I can find some room in my schedule to read Dirty soon.

Sigh. Joe, Joe, Joe. I loved the big fella. I really did. Even though his deception was just all sorts of wrong, I couldn't help but think he redeemed himself by the end of the book. Early on I realized that Joe was a bit of a pushover. He was there for others, no matter what they needed. He always did what was expected of him (even when he didn't want to) because he was afraid to disappoint anyone. He was just an all around nice guy. And - my shallow moment - he's pretty hot, too. Because he was so kindhearted and caring, he was taken advantage of by those close to him, and I didn't like that at all. Then Alex shows up and starts questioning his happiness, making Joe take a closer look at himself.

Alex was a great character, and I liked her, but I never really connected with her. I couldn't figure out why. Maybe it was because I couldn't see myself in her? I don't know. She was a bit overwhelmed by Joe's family and friends at first, but I like how she ultimately came to accept everyone and appreciate their meddling.

Joe and Alex were great when they were together, and I enjoyed their banter. I liked that the author showed the development of Joe and Alex's relationship by using their past emails interspersed throughout the current storyline. Readers get to see the initial attraction, even though Alex thought she was conversing with Eric, not Joe. There's not too much conflict in the story, except towards the end when something spoilery happens, and Joe acts like an ass. That aggravated me and brought my level of enjoyment down just a bit.

Overall, this was another really great read from Kylie Scott. I'm enjoying the characters in this spin off series, and I love that we still get small cameos from the original Stage Dive series.

Oh Kylie Scott! This woman writes some of my favorite female leading ladies. They are real, flawed, hilarious, and so very relatable to the average 21 century woman. Twist is another bestseller that you will not want to miss. Joe and Alex are brilliant. Their unique chemistry creates a sort of awkward moving train that causes you to wonder where it it will lead us. This book is quirky and messy, something that is real in the world we know. Both Joe and Alex are closed off in different, understandable ways, and I appreciated how they challenged one another and moved towards new ideas and choices both together and apart.

Something that makes this story work so well is the people in it. Joe and Alex are great, but they would not be as brilliant without the people they love and those they know. Alex is reserved and closed off from the world, yet her relationship with Val opens us up to a new side of who she is and what she is like. Joe is a man who learns to take a stand while loving those around him. It is admirable to watch him learn to balance the need to please with the need to take care of himself. Those around Joe come together in a brilliant way when life is hard and it shows the reader how much people mean to these two. When Joe and Alex have trouble opening up with each other, which leads to readers having questions, the relationships around them help give us a glimpse into who they are.

This book is both heart warming and a bit raw. Like every romance, there are hard issues to face, but these people make it. They fall down and learn to dust themselves off. Their passion is sizzling and their subtle love story is wonderful to watch unfold! BONUS: Fans of the Stage Dive series will get to see their favorites for a little glimpse and that scene was icing on the cake!

I loved loved loved this story!! I loved Joe, I loved seeing characters again from the first Dive Bar novel. I loved seeing the progression of the relationship between Alex and Joe. I loved the entire storyline and everything about it. This is definitely turning into an amazing series.

Joe is so sweet and caring and at times awkward. I adored him. Oh and I love a beard.. so yeah. He is also sexy and charming and one of my favorite book boyfriends I have read about this year.

I have to be honest, I was not a fan of Alex at first. I understand her feelings, but I was so frustrated with her at times in this story. I think that may have sprouted from my love of Joe though as well. However, she definitely grew on me throughout the story and I loved seeing the two of them grow on eachother as well and to see their relationship really change throughout the book.

I absolutely cannot wait to read more from this series. I know that each of these books will be amazing!

I really thought I was going to like this one as much as the first but I didn't. I don't know why this one fell flat for me. I usually love Kylie Scott's work. Maybe the next one will be better for me.

5 Stars!

Kylie Scott has out-freaking-done herself with this book. Sexy. Smart. Unique. I'm not sure romance gets much better than this right here. Packed with heart, heat and a twist or two, this book will take you on a journey that won't want to leave you and the hangover... absolutely wicked.

Twist was the perfect romance in every way... the right amount of angst, drama, tension, steam, and fun. This book was so so so good.... engaging, enticing, and sexy.... stringing me along, keeping me on my toes.

Their meeting was unconventional.... their chemistry is undeniable... Alex and Joe have an intense but sometimes love is complicated and their story? It's the twist they never... saw coming.

Alex and Joe... yes yes yes please! Everything about them drew me in. I loved these two... hard. I felt their emotions.... the love, pain, sadness, lust.... I felt it all. And I was their biggest cheerleader on the side rooting them on... and my fingers were crossed from the start that it world all work out just right.

This series is just.... brilliant. Give it a chance and find out why the Dive Bar is the hottest place to be!

I highly recommend this book.

Like all good mixed drinks, there are certain elements that just go together to make a smooth cocktail. You wouldn't mix Rum and Vodka without adding Triple Sec, Tequila, and Gin for the perfect Long Island. Kylie Scott books are the perfect blend of all the right liquors mixed together. When you open her books you are going to find a blend of diversity, humor, sexiness, insecurity, confidence, and above all, plot. These ingredients alone are good, but together create stories that will make you book drunk. As a reader of all of Kylie's books, I must say she can create an addict easily.

Twist gives the idea of being catfished new meaning. We meet Alex and Joe, the two, admittedly when they see each other, are not the other's type. One flu later and lots of cold medicine has them seeing each other very differently.

With diverse character's who are realistic in their need to work and their flawed nature, we are drawn to Alex and Joe. Joe, the hot bartender makes construction sexy. Alex, the graphic designer with a realistic shape and flare for home improvement shows, proves to be a worthy match for Joe Collins. I loved the way she stood up for Joe and the pair blended together. Kudos Kylie.

Twist is the second book in Kylie Scott’s new Dive Bar series. All her books are standalones but they’re fun to read so would recommend reading her Stage Dive series because this series is a spin-off. I laughed and cried while reading this novel. I must admit my favorite part was when there was glimpses of past hilarious characters (Mal).

Alex met a man online and shows up to finally meet him in person. But (plot twist) the man she’s talking to isn’t the man in the pictures or even the same name. Joe has been talking to Alex using his brother’s online profile. Alex is pissed being lied to but Joe won’t let her leave believing it was a joke only meant to catfish her. Joe fell for her the minute they began talking but didn’t know how to break the new to her. He honestly believed her would never meet her because she lives on the other side of the country.

I loved Twist and I can’t wait to see who comes next! An easy 5 star read for me and I’d recommend this novel to anyone looking for a funny heartfelt romance.
