I thought I was picking up a book to read a sweet reunion story ... and I did. It was so sweet and makes your heart warm how their love remained even through separation and heartache ... but there was more. What I didn't realize was that I was also picking up a book with an eye opening, heart-wrenching dip into the sad injustices that we sometimes have to face within the blink of an eye. Life isn't fair, and it's often not pretty ... but sometimes in life, love can find a way to outweigh the bad ... even if just for a little while. I highly recommend you read this book ... it's so fantastic I can't even find the words to tell you!

Country music star Sawyer Landry has just won the top award in his field and should be flying high, but he can't help but feel regret and guilt over leaving Rory behind. They were best friends, high school sweethearts, together for years with their future together mapped out in their heads for so long ... until he left her to pursue his dreams. Rory Calhoun gave up a lot of her dreams when Sawyer walked out on the future they were supposed to be living together. She has great family and friends around her, but she never really moved on. When Sawyer gets back into town and comes to find her, she can't believe he has the audacity to come smiling back at her like she's just going to forgive and forget! He sets out to show her how much she has meant to him even if he wasn't there with her, but shortly after he arrives, the world falls out from under him when a secret is revealed!

An emotionally draining romance! This one's a tear jerker!

This is my first boook by this author and wow it was wonderful. Its also part of a series with at least one book before it about the heroine, Rory's brother. It easily stands alone though I love it so much I want to read the first book too.

Going into this story I thought it was about a musician, Sawyer who dumps his long time girl friend, Rory for the music scene and he discovers he loves her and wants her back and so he goes how to win her back and say he is sorry for betraying her. I thought it would be a fun , sweet book with a hot musician. Well it so wasn't. This book is deep and its not light at all.

The first hint you get about the story is that the author mentions that she is donating profits from this book about to Altzeimers. But this book is so much more than that. This is really a story about a man who goes home to win back his girlfriend and discovers his father has early onset Altzeimers. This is really astory about him and his family and friends and how they deal with this disease and the ramifications it can have for a boyfriend, family, brothers and parents.

It is a deep story and one where I learned alot. It is heartbreaking and the author explored many issues relating to this subject and I am just so impressed not just with the writing but how this issue can affect a family and individuals. This is not a light reading story. Its very deep and kudos to the author for teaching me alot about this subject.
