Lovely light read with two characters you know are going to get together. I liked that Tyne was the chef in this one (although his name was a bit much). Daphne deserves happiness and you'll enjoy watching her blossom. Lynn has a pleasant writing style which just encourages you to keep reading. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I read the entire Mill Pond series back to back just prior to starting this one, and I was struck by how similar they all were! All the problems I had with the previous books, I had with this one: rushed romance, flat characters, padded descriptions, copied food dishes, it was all here. By this point, I had lost interest in any part of the town tapestry.

Tyne was the hero here, and once again he's this perfect specimen, who has women constantly groping him/falling at his feet, has been all over the world cooking, and has finally come to settle in Mill Pond. He's talked constantly about leaving and moving on throughout the series, so his sudden change of heart was not that believable for me.

Daphne was his heroine, and she really wasn't all that much of a heroine. She had a relationship of dubious morals prior to getting together with Tyne, with a married guy to boot! All because her parents approved of him, and she was still very much under their influence and control, despite being 36 years old! She was also quite the doormat character, letting both the married guy and an old college roommate take advantage of her and use her for their own gain. By the end of the book, she starts to grow a spine, but she felt a bit flat, like she was parts of the previous heroines all rolled into one character.

The ending was very abrupt and unbelievable to me, and while the townsfolk make appearances and we see that tapestry evolve, it just wasn't enough to save the story for me. I'm honestly not sure I'd continue the series, but I do know I can't recommend it.
