Slightly confusing in the beginning trying to keep all the characters straight but once I did found the story enjoyable. Not sure the idea of the couple being apart for 5 years easy to swallow but certainly could identify with a mean-spirited, selfish mother! Gave me the feeling I was reading a more updated {1800s] version of Romeo and Juliet.
