I enjoyed reading these essays on the critic/poet William Empson. The author does a good job of concentrating on a particular work in each essay. These essays are best enjoyed if you have read many of the works discussed esp Shakespeare. If you wish to have a deeper understanding of Empson and Literature you will enjoy this book.
