Buying guide for DC graphic novels. Good to flip through for collection development. Looks like they were releasing this guide yearly, but there hasn't been an update since the 2019 edition.
Great works throughout. Some slight misses, but they are uniformly readable and made me want to continue all the way to the end.
A very interesting book, loved and really enjoyed the reading. Strongly recommend the book if you are into page turning books.
I thick this it's a pretty fair collection s of graphic novel recommendation, I have not much to add, for a person who wants to know in what order or what to read I think it a solid dial.
This book gives a good summary of the DC universe and introduces the universe to new readers. This title also includes lists of DC titles that could be considered essential reading.
I was unable to review this book as I was unable to get it to open in any program. On phone, computer or Kindle.
This book is super helpful when looking where to start a series. The page layouts are fun and easy to follow. I totally recommend this for someone just getting into comics or someone who is picking it up after a while. Even though it's a year old, it's still very helpful.
I enjoyed going through this. It was a great guide to know and having the knowledge of what comics were starting new in the rebirth and having a description of the comic along with its title and release date is incredible. I enjoyed that it also had comics from both DC and Vertigo listed. I liked the collectibles page. And I really appreciate the recommended list for reading order. I plan on using that. I think this is a great and useful guide for comic lovers!
This is a helpful book for people who may not know where to start when it comes to a comic book series. There was a lot of good information about each series and which issues to start with for a certain series.
This was a wonderful read! I had a great time exploring the history of DC. The book covered everything possible in the DC universe, which was a great introduction into the lives of all the DC characters that I wasn't very familiar with.
This is a great catalog that introduces you to the DC-verse. It gives you all the essentials and a list of what to read first. All the big guns are mentioned: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, the Justice League, the Green Lantern and Suicide Squad. It also pays attention to the current TV shows and movies, video games and even highlights some of the collectible action figures. At the end of the catalog you can find a reading list of the DC comics.
This is great to look into when you're new to DC and also if you're not. This catalog proved page after page why I will always choose DC over Marvel.
I don't know how to rate this, because I tried to open this file at least ten separate times and I couldn't. Based off the reviews I have read, and the description given I'd still recommend this to someone like my brother, whose entire life is built around comics, or if I saw it at the store I'd pick it up for myself because while I couldn't read it now, I did want to read it and I still do. It seems like something that I could use to connect with my brother more and I always appreciate things that build mutual bridges for people.
A quick guide to DC's graphic novels and their orders. I really liked it and I definitely recommend this for graphic novel fans looking to build up their collection.
This is great for people who, like me, want to read DC comics and don't really know where to start!
There's a chronological reading order for each series/superhero along with synopses which makes it so much easier to find out what interests you or not.
Even if you have already read some of them, it's still great to figure out which ones you haven't and would like to.
I definitely recommend this book and will be using it as a guide!
As someone who has not opened a comic book in forty years and has just stepped into the wondrous world of graphic novels, I found this catalog to be invaluable in explaining all of DC Comics' series and the various story arcs. There are so many different story arcs even with the major characters that it's hard to get it all straight without a guide. This catalog is presented in vibrant colors and is very well designed.
My son loves comics and reads them all! Thank you for the DC Essential Graphic Novels. He has enjoyed them so much.
I love that this lays out every comic in chronological order, including titles and series both. Definitely good reference material!
This is a great catalog of the titles DC Comics is releasing in 2017. I have just started reading DC comics this year, so I liked this overview of everything they publish.
There are many choices in here that I probably wouldn't have known about otherwise. Many of their older, classic titles are in here too.
This catalog is great for new readers and older fans of DC Comics.
Honestly, I have to be especially motivated to keep track of an eARC in non-.mobi format, and I just lost track of this one.
Do you wonder if you have all the comics of Batman or others? This is a great book to look at to discover DC Comics and Verity comics. Besides giving you a brief annotation of the comic book, there is a suggested order in how to read each title. You will also get to see covers of many of the comic books. I found it fascinating and am going to check out some of Wonder Woman, myself. It's interesting to see how different authors see their super heroes.
I recommend everyone who love comics to get this book!
