There was much that was admirable about this book, but it does cover a very specific field of study, and didn't have enough crossover appeal to make it readable to those with a more general interest. My PhD study uses walking as a methodology, so I thought this would be an interesting area to read about, but the book was not relevant enough to make academic connections, and not written to involve the reader in the sense of creative non-fiction. I'm currently working on the structure of my thesis, and may use it as an example of how academic and published work can be integrated.
