I did not care for this book and could not finish it. Therefore, any review would be disingenuous for me to create.

This is a hard review to give. The story was ok but I had a hard time getting into the story and characters. Summer was a visitor to the small town. She was only there for a few months to help her Aunt Iris and run her floral shop and take care of her bird.

Ben had grown up in this small town and after his brother committed suicide, his mother began to drink and his father left town and he was left to take care of his mother. He had given up so much. He had to give up a full scholarship to college. He was working at a small-town grocery store and had no hope for his future or his mother's. Then, Summer showed up and his world began to change.

Again, this really is a sweet story. It is clean, no foul language and no sex. The message is a good message and for those things I liked the book but I just couldn't get into the story.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book by Melissa Storm. This one shows us how love can change things whether the love of a son for an alcoholic mother or the love of a community for an incomer. All can be changed and improved by love.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

If I were to guess, Love's Prayer is Melissa Storm's first book. The basic story is okay, but I found it rather contrived. Melissa follows the romance writer's formula fairly loosely, but still the formula is visible in the reading. The one thing that's good about this book is that it doesn't take long to read.

I am being rather nasty about this and that's not fair. The opening of the book details Ben's brother's suicide and Ben's depression and suicidal thoughts. After an accidental meeting with Summer, who is taking care of her aunt's florist shop, Ben recovers from both the depression and the suicidal thoughts. I can't imagine that this would be the case in real life.

Some of the happenings in the book gave real entertainment. Summer's Aunt Iris has a bird named Sunny that she left in Summer's care while she's on the cruise. One night Sunny escapes its cage and the house, leading to an all city rescue. Melissa's description of the antics of the people trying to catch the bird is funny and amusing.

I won't say this book has no redeeming value, but I can't score it very highly. Two Stars.

My thanks to Partridge and Pear Press for allowing me to read and review this book.

This is the first book for Ms. Storm in this series and what a book to start with. I cannot tell you how serious this book is when it comes to what topics this book deals with and it is with everyday, real problems but they are real serious problems. It is how she deals with the problems is what makes this book so rock solid and so worth the read. She moves you as a reader and a person and as a Christian. Your faith is sought out through the characters and you hurt for them and rejoice with a Christian heat when things go good and you cry when things hurt - you will feel a lot of things with this book and I tell you this is so worth it to read..
