A great read from the first to last page despite/because this book was different from what I usually read, as I don’t usually read YA type novels. The excellently written story caught me into the storyline from page one. I was disappointed that the book was so short, but look forward to continuing reading with book 2.

I flew through this novella. I enjoyed the world building and the style it was written in. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

On the plus side, I found the story a bit different. Jenny was an everyday type of person just trying to survive. Well she does have some martial arts skills which puts her in a place she never dreamed she would be in. A dream job comes her way because of it. But is everything truly as good as it appears? At first Jenny is cool with everything but she begins to be uneasy and some of the questions mentioned in the book blurb start cropping up. Some of the story is also written from the perspective of if only I'd known what I know now.
I also like the smart, kind, friend she found in Dr. Swinson. There are secondary people in the story, who aren't shown real deeply. I think mainly because they were still feeling their way around and just trying to stay alive. This book has the feel of a introductory book, just setting things up. It was a clean story, one that I like YA readers would enjoy.

On the downside is the fact that I didn't like how the book ended. Although it did end with some things solved, for now. There was hope, a maybe, when it came to Jenny and the man she finds she really likes.
It looks like more adventures are coming...

An enjoyable read but not quite my style . The characters were not as well developed as I would have wanted to drive the story along .

Great read. Jenny Harding finds a job that opens up her world to things she never expected. She mistakenly trusts people she shouldn't and others pay the price. Can she get past this and try to resolve things? Read this and find out. It's short, but the story keeps you engaged and definitely makes you want to read the next book.
I received this from NetGalley and the publisher for a review.

This is an entertaining novella (just under 100 pages) with a likable and relatable protagonist who finds herself in very unusual circumstances filled with uncertainty and doubt. It's set in York, Great Britain. It's got some funky science-y things going on, and some awkward but so very normal interpersonal things going on, and it's unclear who the good guys are. The uncertainty is good, really.

I believe it's a good sign that I wanted it to continue when it ended. I'd like to know more about the main characters and what is really going on, which hopefully is or will be found in a sequel.

Since this was identified as #1 in a series, I sure hope there are more!

Omega rising by Jessica Meats is a sci-fi and fantasy and teens and ya read.
Jenny Harding has no money, no qualifications and no career history. A job working security for a big tech firm seems too good to be true. Maybe it is.
She is tasked with hunting down a group of thieves who have been stealing sensitive technology. Caught up in a battle involving alien forces, Jenny has some important questions to answer:
Who are the thieves?
What's their real purpose?
And is she on the right side?
This was a fantastic read with brilliant characters. Although slow to start with it soon picked up. 4*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.

I was blessed enough to be able to download a free ebook copy of the book via Netgally as part of the “Read Now” option(Meaning that I didn’t have to be approved by the publisher first) in exchange for my honest review of the book which is as follows:

From the start of the book I was unsure about the reasons behind the main character’s actions however the storyline moved along at a fast enough pace to keep me interested. A lot of stuff felt a little bit too easy/ coincidental however I’m still interested in possibly learning more about the characters/storyline in a book two. Overall I personally rate this book a 4/10.

Well, my first thought after finishing it today was, this would be a great movie. It reads like a movie script too, you read about stuff happening, cooking recipe style and get emotions, motivations, felling, all those stuff that make a story amazing, from acting alone.

It was definitely a struggle, finishing this book, at least at first. There is no emotional connections or pull, I was not rooting for any of the characters. Whilst on the characters, there was little development or depth to them.

That being sad, this book was not all that bad. Story is really interesting, especially if you like aliens and conspiracies, which I do. I also love all the technology in it. But I have to say, it is hard to miss some plot holes coming from nonexistent development.

Maybe if the book was expanded a bit (meaning, every aspect of the story), stretched to maybe 300 or 400 pages, instead of 97, or blockbuster movie, it could be equally amazing. I would also love to read a sequel.
