A yawn inducingly pretentious book where an arrogant parent with self evidently spoiled children pretends to be an expert and tells everyone else how to do it. No thanks.

This book was difficult to get through. "ZagZig Parenting" refers to a workaholic mom (Reed) and a stay-at-home dad (Becker). Despite admitting that she rarely spends time with her kids (other than when she bribes them to have dinner with her), Reed does that pretentious thing where she tells everyone else how to raise their kids. Even though she doesn't do much to raise her own. Becker, on the other hand, can't seem to decide if he resents having to stay home with the kids or if he's bragging about getting to be there for the kids all the time. The four kids got to contribute a few paragraphs, which only reinforced how spoiled they all seem. If you're a parent, or thinking about becoming one, I would advise steering clear of this book.

Finally, a book that better describes some of my family situation and also a brief glimpse into my potential future.

I am also a working mom with a stay at home husband- although we only have 2 kids instead of the authors 4. But a lot of the issues and stories in the book are applicable to anyone no matter how many kids you have.

This is not an often talked about or written about situation and is usually only written about from one perspective. I love that this book is mainly written by the mom and then has interjections from the dad. I think now they should write one written from the dad perspective and then with mom interjections.

Poorly written. At least the beginning was poorly written... I didn't make it any further than that.

This was interesting, I really enjoy reading books about parenting and even though I don't have kids this didn't matter. I laughed a long with the characters and hope the parents write more books about their journey and experiences. This was different to anything I've read before as the women went to work and the man stayed at home to look after their four kids.

Funny and rather unique, this journey on parenting is intriguing. Shows that the roles of parenting can be switched and both roles can suffer, miss out on milestones and wonder whether they are doing the right thing, regardless of gender. I found the side notes a little annoying in places, like the partners were snipping at each other sometimes. The anecdotes of the children were touching too.
