I really loved this Melissa Marino story. The hero was a HOT alpha bartender and the heroine was sassy and took all the names as she got her life under control. I felt they were well matched and I look forward to more from this author in the future. Full review to follow shortly.

So Screwed was an absolutely fun quick read. I loved the main characters and secondary characters. the romance was believable and sweet.

Evelyn and Abel were both similar yet so different. They both were used to one night stands and sexual escapaded. Abel never found the right one and Evelyn had enough heartbreak. The two were told to stay away from one another, but the attraction between them won over and their relationship blossomed from there.

Evelyn was a woman of many expectations. I found that she expected so much from a guy which why she probably got hurt by her ex. I did love her character though. She was a strong working woman, she was fierce, sexy and knew what she wanted.

Abel was a man of many downfalls and mistakes, but I love that he kept on trying. Abel was just so amazing! I loved seeing the dominate, sweet and humorous side of him. Even when he was down and out he still seemed to be my favorite character.

The romance was beautiful. I loved how they started off with a fling, but clearly knew they had feelings for one another. I love the way they made things work until Abel made that MISTAKE...

Good romance read!

So Screwed takes place some months after the first book. As soon as I read about Evelyn and Abel in the first book I knew they were destined to be together. This is probably my favorite out of the three. Abel and Evelyn are both playing the field neither of them ready to settle down yet and no matter how many time Callie has told them both not to do it Evelyn finally gives in to Abel's charms and agrees on a date. It was easier for me to get into this one with the alternating first person POV Abel's narration was more open and even when the shit came down toward the end I felt like I knew him well enough to know he had his reasons for doing it. Evelyn is very career driven she won't give herself time for an actual relationship but for Abel she makes the exception. Abel is a teacher without a teaching job, he feels like he is living under the shadow of his successful brother; Aaron including him in on business opportunities and letting him work as a bartender in his very exclusive bar but it all makes him feel like he's lacking like he will never be good enough or do good enough for his brother or parents. Abel has a secret he's been telling everyone that he's been making extra money teaching courses online but what he's really been doing is gambling. Abel is a very good card player but he's been on a losing streak. Abel trust Evelyn enough that she knows about this and she keeps his secret. Evelyn finally works through her feelings of abandonment with Abel and they both finally admit their feelings to each other but an incredible job opportunity came up for Evelyn where she has to spend three month out of state. When she gets back Abel is engaged to someone else. Evelyn is very appropriately devastated. Abel has a whole lot of work ahead of him to make it up to her. I loved that what he did it was so freakin sweet.

Overall, emotional rollercoaster the whole way and I loved it.

when career girl, evelyn owens tangles up with party boy, abel matthews sparks fly. so screwed is the second book in the bad behavior series, and is it bad to admit that i liked callie's best friend and aaron's brother more than i ever liked them? it took me a while to get through so twisted, this was not the case with so screwed.

when abel finally gets evelyn to start going out with him, it's as if the world changes. he knows with a certainty that there is no one else he wants to be with. but this isn't to say that all his problems disappear. he's still too reliant on his family. he's not working his dream job. he's lying to everyone about where his extra income is coming from.

and that's what gets him in trouble. and it's so hard to stay angry at abel, he's so charming. he's really trying. even when he is screwing up in every possibly way, it's not because he is a bad guy. it's because he's in an awful situation and he's so scared of asking for help. he's ashamed and embarrassed and feels like every horrible thing happening to him is something he deserves.

but he deserves good things too. and the best thing to ever happen to him is evie. and it took him forever to get her to say yes the first time. so he really has to work hard to pick up the pieces of their relationship that he blew up in pretty spectacular fashion. sometimes characters have to work super hard to beg for forgiveness in an over-the-top way that i'm not really on board with, but in this case, abel really did have to grovel. everything has come easily for abel, getting evie back can't. he has to work hard, he has to prove that he wants her and only her.

and when he finally earns every bit of her forgiveness. when she's finally willing to trust him with her heart again, it's totally worth it. you really can't help rooting for them.

This story is about Evelyn and Abel. We met them in So Twisted. I was excited to read about their story because they seemed like they would be smarter than the first couple, Callie and Aaron. Sadly, they were a hot mess as well. More so Abel than Evelyn. Evelyn and Abel had agreed to keep things casual due to career goals but next thing you know they are falling in love with each. They've never felt this way before about anyone. Really?? I know the sex was good but come on. I didn't buy chemistry and attraction at all and was very disappointed that it went from casual to insta love after a few chapters. As expected there was some drama that I didn't see coming. That's one thing I do have to give this author credit for she doesn't go the traditional drama route and it's refreshing. Honestly I'm not sure if I want to continue with the series but I was given a review copy so I may bite.

Abel Matthews is a bartender by trade, but he has big dreams of unleashing his knowledge on the world, by hopefully someday becoming an English teacher and writer. Being a drink slinger also lends to his other favorite hobby, being an womanizer, he has it down to a science now, while making their drinks, he charms women into giving him their phone numbers... to later charm them out of their panties. And until now he's never struck out, but then again he has never met a woman quite like Evelyn Owen, she knows the game, plays the game, and isn't about to fall into his trap!

Evelyn Owen isn't like the women she helps, she doesn't want the the white dress, vows, and happily ever after, she prefers to keep her entanglements with men strictly on a one night basis. She is too busy for relationships, not to mention their messy at times, and she just isn't willing to sign herself up for that... that is until Abel comes into her life. At first she wanted nothing to do with the man, she had heard all about him and his naughty boy ways from her best friend, and she was determined not to fall into his trap, but little by little he charmed his way into her life... and her heart!

After meeting these two in the first installment, I was anxious to see how their story would all play out, I knew it would be a good one, but I have to say Ms. Marino surprised me a little with this one... it the best possible way, it was so good!! As soon as you meet these two, you'll start to see that they were meant for one another, both wounded souls, not willing to let love in, but little by little they begin to pull the best parts of one another out, and soon the fireworks start to ignite. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it is a perfectly blended romance story filled with steamy sexy times, witty banter, and heartfelt emotion, that kept me captivated right up and until the last page is swiped! Highly recommend!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

I really enjoyed this book!

Abel Matthews's story was one I never saw coming. He is adorable but has a dark side. I thought his biggest problem was going to be a bad boy and a ladies man, but that was nothing when you find out the trouble he has gotten himself in!!!
Even with his flaws, I loved his character and rooted for him the entire book!

You know that saying, there's more than meets the eye? Well this is exactly what we get with Abel and Evelyn's story by the fabulous Melissa Marino! This is one of those books that the strong, independent woman, Evelyn leads a very busy life as a wedding planner to the elite of elite and she doesn't have time for love, especially from Abel who's a true player...or is he? She's been warned to stay away from him, but sometimes listening to your heart instead of your head is the right thing to do.

Just because she shouldn't want him doesn't mean she's going to ignore the connection that she feels with him. She's seen a side of Abel that not a lot have and because of that she goes with what her gut tells her and gives in to the temptation.

Ms. Marino did such a good job with this story. I wanted to be with Abel even knowing he has this love them and leave them reputation. The fact that Evelyn can see what's in his heart made me so happy because she's a woman, that even if she doesn't want to admit, really does want love in her life. I mean she's making other couples dream weddings come to life...why can't she want that for herself?

I for one am now a devoted Melissa Marino fan and can't wait to see what she has next for us!

These two were told to stay away from each other, but that only made them want each other more. She's the woman who's afraid to love, but she's the only one who sees him for who he really is. Or does she? I wanted to punch this man, and so did most of the characters at one point, but I loved him, too! Such a great book!

A priori, Abel Matthews is the worst kind of womanizer, immature and irresponsible, but Melissa Marino managed to make me love this character from start to finish! His dream of becoming an English teacher and a writer has not yet come true, but he doesn’t give up and is biding his time. In the meantime, he is a bartender at one of his brother Aaron’s bars and a gambler in his spare time. Abel is totally flawed, perfectly playing his role of prodigal son, and yet he is so endearing!

Evelyn Owen is a wedding planner, catering to the rich and famous. She is a strong heroine, focused on her successful career. Despite their seemingly opposite personalities, their chemistry was palpable. Abel is bold, not afraid of ridicule and his brazen attitude slowly grows on Evelyne. He is a flirt, but she can’t resist his charm, generosity and well-hidden vulnerability.

There was a lot of push and pull between them, they are both insecure and are fully embracing their fear of commitment. Their emotional connection was undeniable, though, and I loved how their relationship progressed as the story unfolded, Abel and Evelyn are a match made in heaven! That is, until everything comes crashing down and Abel has to reinvent his way of life.

This tender and funny look at love, showing the importance of pursuing your dreams, was a delightful read. Melissa Marino’s characters give this book its irresistible emotional pull. Their story is sweet, fun and real. The pace was perfect and I read this book almost in one sitting. I loved the humorous ending and definitely plan to read Aaron’s book “So Screwed” very soon! If you enjoy a sweet romance filled with playful repartee, then this book is a great pick!

This is the second book I have read by Melissa Marino and once again I really enjoyed it. Its sexy and steamy but will aslo play on your emotions. We had previously met Abel and Evelyn in So Twisted and I was excited when I saw they would get their own story.

Abel Matthews is a ladies man he's definitely the love um and leave um type but from the moment he met Evelyn there's just something about her that captivates him and he's determined to get to know her better.

Evelyn is very career driven not really looking for a relationship but once she gives into Abel and the more she gets to know him her feelings for him begin to become more.

As Abel and Evelyn embark on a relationship bad decisions on Abel's part look to tear them apart will he come to his senses before its to late.

I have chosen to DNF this title. I hate to do this, as the story really sounded compelling. Unfortunately, I really don't like Abel and I am having a very difficult time seeing him as a romantic hero. The bar/english teacher thing, the not speaking up for himself, and the way he allows his family to treat him are frustrating me to the point where I am really not able to enjoy the book.

I appreciate the opportunity to read this title and I look forward to the next one!

Abel is an aspiring teacher who is currently working as a bartender, and has the hots for his brother’s girlfriend’s best friend, Evelyn. She is a wedding planner and is very attracted to Abel, but her best friend warned her to stay away because he is a man whore. Luckily, she’s not looking for anything serious and is just fine with this.

Abel comes on cocky and strong, and Evelyn calls him out on his playboy moves. They trade entertaining banter that builds the sexual tension and culminates in incredible sex. Both develop feeling but both have insecurities, especially Abel. He has made a lot of mistakes and has a lot of secrets, and he’s a broken man underneath all his swagger.

He and Evelyn compliment each other, and their love story is inspiring, sweet and sexy. Abel is a particularly endearing character and his storyline is original and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed So Screwed and plan to read the entire series. - Janet Reads Romances

4 stars * * * *
This is so hot my fingers are burning while I type. Take Abel and Evelyn- Both able to make the opposite sex drop trou by just a look. Both are ready, willing and more than able...See How I Did That...to be each others match in the Bed, with the banter and also with the heart.
This is the second entry of this series and be still my heart...I may die of flames with the next.

I happened to stumble across this book while browsing on Net Galley awhile back. I loved the cover, loved the blurb and loved that this was a new to me author. I took a chance and it paid off. This book was outstanding! Now, I did not read the first book, SO TWISTED, but I could follow along ok. However, I would suggest reading it before reading SO SCREWED.

Abel, an aspiring teacher working as a bartender at WET, a secret speakeasy, and Evelyn, a wedding event planner should NOT be together. Abel is Evelyn’s best friend’s boyfriend’s brother (say that three times fast) and he wants her, BAD. Evelyn knows the right thing to do would be to stay as far away from him as possible but we’re all entitled to a little fun, right?

Abel is one of those “one look and he’ll have your panties on the floor” kind of guy. Evelyn, who was independent and a hard worker was also a “boxer-dropping” kind of gal. I love that she did just what he did and had no qualms about it!! Usually, the guy who is the “manwhore” so to speak, is interested in a simple, virginal girl. I LOVED that this wasn’t the case! Girl could give it out just as good as he could!

Evelyn called Abel out on everything which was fantastic. At times, I don’t think he knew what to do with her. Their banter was easy, their sex was incredible and they just balanced each other out so well. They both had their insecurities but sometimes I think Abel was so much more insecure, it broke my heart.

“I want to do everything better for you”

This story did not go in the direction I thought it would take. I figured something would go down, but nothing prepared me for what I read. Secrets in a relationship never end well and boy did Abel have plenty of them. I got to a certain point in the book where all I did was try to hold back the tears, which came anyway. I was completely heartbroken. A strong, cocky and confident man on the outside who was completely broken on the inside, it just did me in. I just wanted to fix him. Make him see what a good man he was. I think this story resonated with me so much because Abel and Evelyn have such a similar relationship to what my husband and I had in the beginning, it was like reading my life story from 20 years ago. Hell, all these years later and I think that I have finally shown that broken man that he’s not as ruined as he thinks he is.

The only fault I find in this book is when I hit that last page, I was looking for more. I was hoping for just a sneak peek if you will into their lives a few months down the road. All in all, this book was a great read and I will be going back in for a re-read along with purchasing the first book in the series.

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Love Abel. We see he is human and vulnerable. He comes off as a flake at times but there is a man with feelings, emotion and substance behind the sexy as sin beard. I hated how he saw himself and who he thought his family saw him. I loved that he went for what he loved as a career and that he was honest about things. Well honest to a point. when he gets in over his head he is so ashamed and scared for his family that he takes the easy way out and this only hurts all those around him but himself mostly. Why? Because for a guy comfortable with himself he can’t live with himself and his grief once he takes this route. He can’t live with the pain he is suffering and causing others. Even after he comes clean and realizes he needs help and begins to life to his own terms with bare honesty he stays away from his family because of shame and how he fears they see him. It hurts me to see his brother and dad casually say what they do to him when inside you see him affected by it and how he sees himself because of it. Abel is a good guy overall who just is lost and is on a journey to find himself and the truth of what he wants, desires and who he really is. He is on a journey to become the man he is can be when being honest and real. The sweet, caring, geeky guy who is passionate about books and writing. Who falls in love with the girl and shows her with his actions and words. the man who realizes how far down the rabbit hole he has gone and wants to come out and be honest. who deals with the consequences of those actions and is honest with himself in the process. The man who realizes he needs help and goes for it and matures and grows in so many ways. We see him realize how his past actions affected others and that he wanted to become something he was proud of not what others would be proud of and in the process he grew. he grew into a more confident and adoring man. It was love that had him realize he didn’t want the easy way anymore. what I hated though was each time he went to Evelyn after his stupid screwup she treated him like scum on shoe and than when she finds out everything she is angry at him for not telling her hello he tried and you shooed him and him him feel worse about himself. After you go to him and he lays himself bare for you you still walk away. He shows you his book and you love it and you still will not forgive or trust. He made a mistake and she judged him harshly even with signs of his maturing and how he loved her she was harsh with him.

evelyn was career minded. She took nothing from anyone and called people out on their bs. Abel did break through her barriers and when he does we get some fun moments. the intimate talks were so raw and honest that you rooted for them to come together. Watching them fall for each other was great and it hurt when Abel suddenly screwed up and didn’t say why he was hurting her. When he tried she threw it all in his face and made him feel worse. Understandable she was lashing out but she could have listened as well.

This is a fun, swoony romance. We see Abel grow so much and find himself. We see Evelyn let someone in and learnt o trust. Abel and Evelyn go on a journey together to discover each other and love for one another but also individually as Abel becomes honest with himself and grows and Evelyn learns to forgive and let love win. Love the dandelions and their meaning so sweet just like Abel.

This book is the second book in this series, I've been looking forward to Abel's book since reading the first one. For some reason however I struggled getting right into this book and will admit it took me awhile to get through it. The storyline between Abel and Evelyn not grabbing me and hooking me right away and for some reason I just wasn't able to connect with them.

Both Abel and Evelyn like minded and were compatible. I will say that the sex scenes are definitely hot and steamy and quite frequent once they finally got together. Abel has some issues in this book and eventually those issues catch up with him in more ways then he can imagine. When things come crashing down I definitely was on the edge of my seat waiting with baited breath to see how this would all turned out.

This was still an enjoyable read for me I just didn't quite get emotionally invested in the book until about half way through it.
