Huge fan of Jamaal Charles from his Longhorn days. Loved the book's creativity and ability to transport the reader into Charles' childhood. I hope that Jamaal is hugely successful in his post-football career!

The Middle School Rules of Jamaal Charles by Sean Jensen by Sean Jensen is an inspiring book. In the story Jamaal Charles opens up about his childhood struggles- his academic challenges and difficulty with reading. The book is honest and real, and written for middle grade readers to understand what's happening. Sean Jensen captures the spirit, positivity, and voice of Charles in this book.

The story tells you rules that you and your family should always follow in your life. I was excited when NetGalley had this book for a student of mine who loves to read. She especially liked Chapter 7 because Jamaal talks about the meals his Grandma would make after church for Sunday dinners and she also enjoyed Chapter 32 because Jamaal tells you about going to the University of Texas and what the college is like."

I received this ARC from Broadstreet Publishing Group LLC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
