I really enjoyed this book. It was not what I was expecting. Great story line with a characters that were easy to follow. The story took you through a man's development into himself and how he evolved into a better person while still maintaining his friendship with his good friend a notorious drug dealer. I would recommend this read to anyone looking for a different read.

Every now and again, a book will impress you, and for me, this was one. Brooklyn Street Meet Wall Street by James Richardson was terrific and quite powerful/inspirational. Without sounding racist, as some of my favorite authors are black like TD Jakes, ReShonda Tate Billingsley, and JJ McAvoy. I have often found black authors hard to read as they use a lot of foul languages and their slang. However, this was a refreshing read and coming from an unknown author too. In this book we meet Josh Robinson who though he grew up in the ghetto life, he always wanted something better for himself and aimed to prove he was not just another black kid from the lower class. He didn't want to fall into the crowd of drug lords or gang life like his best friend. What I did like was that he still held respect with his friend despite the choices. Josh could still hold his own. This book is about an African American who proved to those around that as long as you try hard and put your mind to it, you can achieve wonders and create your path in life. This is James's debut novel, and if he decides to write another just as good as this one, then I will be adding it to my TBR Pile as Brooklyn Street Meet Wall Street has made an impression on me. Add now to your piles as worth the read.

My Thoughts....

I found this read 'interesting, riveting, entertaining. thought provoking with plenty of drama' that will keep you turning the pages to see what will be coming next for Josh Robinson in this urban fiction read. It was a good read about this African American whose dream came true for him as he is given a chance to work with financial investments on 'Wall Street' and getting most of all what he wanted in life and that was wearing a suit. However, in doing so Josh will be presented with some 'mistakes, struggles and tough choices' before he is able to get to where he wants to be in life. This author does a good job in giving the reader a good description of how it was to grow up in Brooklyn, NY really poor having to struggle very hard making it, with crime being all around dealing with murder, drugs that seem to bring out a hard world of violence. How was Josh able to be away from all of the violence that was around him and have the life he really wanted? To find out the answers to that question and so much more you will have to pick up this novel to see how well this author brings it all out to the readers. The reader will be given a well developed, portrayed and with believable characters that will keep one entertained in this well written story of 'high finance and even a sweet romance.'
