The Darkest Promise is #13 in Lords of the Underworld series. You really need the backstory in the series to truly enjoy this volume but there’s tons of spice and steam and wickedly wild characters. Do yourself a favor and become a Gena Showalter reader! Every book is a winner!

Oh, what a tale we weave when we practice to deceive. Does that include helping the rest of the Lords of the Underworld steal Pandora's Box and open it? Yep! In this book we have the pleasure of following Cameo and her Demon named Misery. I was chuckling within the first few pages of the book, reading about her own personal hell. Trying to figure out where she actually landed or was it a dream? Finding out what reality that Cameo has landed in was fun. What is going on with Lazarus when it comes to Cameo? What happens when he finds her in his world? What is the deal with his world? When a dead Lazarus comes back to the real world, what happens? Can Cameo and Lazarus each find happily ever after? You're going to need to read to find out what happens when Cameo battles enemies in an alternate reality, and almost gets herself eviscerated, things get rather interesting. When Viola and Cameo are basically taken out of the fight, and then Cameo sees Lazarus in danger, what does she do? You'll once again have to read this book to find out what happens. I enjoy reading the Lords of the Underworld series. I cannot believe this is the 13th book of that series.
