Lady Isolde Worthingham daughter of the Duke of Penworth captured the Merrick Mountshaw, Duke of Moore's heart at a country dance before she even had a season. But on the eve of her wedding, a scandal that rocked the ton and sent her fleeing to Scotland alone and unwed, leaves her perfectly planned future in a tangle of disgrace and heartbreak. Merrick loathes the pitiful existence he hides from the ton. With a scandalous wife he never wanted, who flaunts her many indiscretions, life is a never-ending parade of hell. Then five years later the only woman he’s loved returns to London, he knows he can no longer live without her.
Isolde wants nothing more than children of her own but still loves Merrick, she however decides that a marriage of convenience will give her the children she wants so much.
A lovely story of misunderstandings, second chances & the lengths someone will go to claim a place in Society.
Merrick & Isolde are well portrayed as are the secondary characters, their feelings for each other withstand the testament of time & interference by others. Their road to a HEA isn’t easy. Whilst this is the second book in the series it could well be read as a stand-alone, however I hope Alice, Victoria & Josh have their stories

This is the first Tamara Gill book I've ever read and what an introduction for me, within the first few chapters I'd gone through so many emotions with the characters I felt emotionally wrung out and had to keep putting the book down to gather myself (emotional mess that I am).

My heart broke for Isolde I literally could feel her pain as the betrayal was revealed & felt she was a great character who stuck to her morals even though it would have been easy to commit adultery with the hero.

Merrick could have grown a back bone, he should have fought for her rather than bow down under pressure from the other characters & I didn't like the fact he blamed himself for what happened to his horrible life. In the end he made it right  which is what these books are all about happy endings.

This book has everything love, betrayal, angst, longing, so many feelings & emotions that it has been a while since I've read a book that still had me thinking about the characters hours later. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series "Only A Viscount Will Do" which is the story of Isolde's younger sister Alice who also appears in this book.

What a wonderful read. This author really worked on this one, it shows! There is such a difference in characters and the emotions you will attach to each of them. Some you will absolutely love, others will make you absolutely hate. From reading this book you will go through a large range of emotions, however what will stay the same is your desire for more after it ends. I enjoy the way this writer gives so much within the cover, a plot, a romance, a host of emotions and situations of life while still giving you romance and passion and enjoyment. A truly remarkable accomplishment for me to experience.
So enjoy the read it really is worth the buy! I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

Imagine finding your soul mate. Now envision on the eve of your wedding a hell you never thought possible is unleashed and your fiancé isn't yours anymore. That is what happens to our fated couple, Merrick and Isolde, in Only a Duke Will Do.

I loved the first book in this series, Only an Earl Will Do, and was looking forward to another Gill adventure. While this novel focuses on the second Worthingham daughter, the story doesn't lack any of the passion and well-developed characters that the first did. This had a very different vibe than the first, but I loved it just as much.

Five years after their wedding never happened, Isolde is back in London to find a husband while Merrick is stuck in a loveless marriage with a woman who is the biggest embarrassment the ton has seen in years. The two are thrown together through mutual friends and events of the season. They discover their love is still as strong as the day they were parted by evil, yet there is nothing they can do about it. Through the masterful storytelling of Gill, the duo glimpses passion, fights through pain, and finds out secrets they never thought were possible.

A glorious journey into love and heartache of the London ton is a true five star read! Book three in the To Marry a Rogue series, Only a Viscount Will Do, is scheduled for release in May 2017 and I can't wait to read what Gill has in store for us next.
