Unfortunately, I was a little lost through Seized by Seduction. After reading the book and really enjoying the ending, I went back to check and saw that this was the third book in The Protectors Series. Even though this is a stand-alone book, I seriously feel that, in order to keep up with all the characters and what they mean to each other, you have to read Forged In Desire.

I was a little confused throughout the story. Quasar and Randi are the major characters in the book but there are a lot of supporting characters and it took a while for me to sort through them all and remember who belonged to who … who was chasing who … who hated who … and who was killing or trying to kill who. I am taking full responsibility for this for not reading the other book in the series and taking this on as a stand-alone.

Together, Quasar and Randi were an interesting couple. He totally believed in her Psychic abilities and understood that not everyone did and that the sceptics would outweigh the believers. Randi was grateful that he didn’t scoff at her abilities, understood them and would stand by her as the visions came to her. What Quasar didn’t understand was the unbelievable attraction he felt for Randi and why he could not get her off his mind. Randi understood that part since she was told, through a vision, just what he would mean to her. But, both of them have a lot to work through. He has the family from hell and she has a demented man trying to kill her. They each have to recognize and earn the love of the other if they are going to have a happily-ever-after.

Through gang wars, serial killers, power-hungry men, jealous women, they stand by each other and give support when it’s needed. Until Quasar realizes just what is happening between them and runs, leaving her to face her biggest enemy yet. Now, he has to face the truth, face his phobia and save the woman he loves.

As I said, I think if I understood the relationships that were so elegantly talked about in this story, I would have enjoyed it more. There was a lot of intrigue and a lot of kissing. It took a while for Quasar and Randi to give into their urges. I don’t expect anything less than an exciting read from Brenda Jackson and I did get that from Seized by Seduction. I was a little disappointed with some of the repetitiveness in the story but, overall, it was an interesting story, jam-packed with action and love.

CONCEPT
Bodyguard is drawn to a psychic investigator
STORY
From the moment his eyes meet hers across the crime-scene tape, ex-con turned bodyguard Quasar Patterson knows he has to see the mysterious Dr. Randi Fuller again. She's a renowned psychic investigator who can foresee danger for others, but not for herself. That makes Quasar doubly determined to watch over her—the closer, the better—as she's drawn into a dangerous gang rivalry.
Both her psychic gift and their blinding chemistry tell Randi that she and Quasar are fated to be entwined. Even as they surrender to the heat between them, there's no guarantee of a happily-ever-after now that an enemy has her in his sights. And claiming a future will take more than Quasar's strength and skill. If he can't risk the heart he's always held in check, they'll both lose for good…
CHARACTERS
Mrs. Jackson does a great job with character development. Readers will remember Randi Fuller from the “Ties that Bind” series and now Mrs. Jackson has developed Randi into a renowned psychic who has provided help to the FBI. Her keen sense and gift is what allows her to realize Quasar is her soul mate. Randi is portrayed as a strong independent female that is capable of holding her own in a fight, and when she finally interacts with Quasar, the chemistry they create allows her to embrace his nature and let him do his job. Quasar is a man who does not want to anything to interfere with his progressing relationship with Randi and he is a man that holds his feelings. Until he encounters Randi. Quasar is doing things not in his nature when it comes to Randi, but the chemistry is drawing him in. Readers will see he is a man that feels deeply and is very dedicated..
DIALOGUE
The dialogue of the story flowed and fell in line with the plot.
STRUCTURE
The structure of the story was well crafted and will have readers turning the pages to see how this journey ends.
OVERALL
Seized in Seduction was the second book in the Protectors series and it was a delightful read. Readers will finally see Randi get her love, but it is a journey filled with intrigue, and family. Randi knows Quasar is the one for her and Quasar has never felt what he feels every time he sees Randi. He can’t understand why he is running after this woman but he knows he needs to follow his heart. Will these two find their way to each other….readers will need to download a copy of Seized in Seduction. Hats off to Mrs. Jackson for another hit.

In Seized by Seduction, Brenda Jackson continues the protector series. We get to know Quasar Patterson and psychic investigator, Dr. Randi Fuller.

So I’m definitely late to the party but I didn’t realize that we knew Randi until we met her sister Haywood. I literally screamed, “wait a minute! Your parents were one of Brenda Jackson’s earliest couples.”

What I liked: while the chemistry was there between these two, I have to admit that the romance took a back seat a few times in this book for me. I was so intrigued by the mystery and crime that was taking place. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I loved that there was a good balance of both the romance and the crime aspect of this novel.

I must say that I was drawn to Quasar a lot earlier than Striker in the previous book. Quasar had history and I love that this was explored. We got enough backstory for us to understand why he was the way he was. It explained his views on relationships, I also liked the fact that he wasn’t jaded despite all the familial issues he experienced.
What I didn’t like: Due to Randi’s psychic abilities, she knew that Quasar was going to be the man for her. She also knew that she would have to work hard to get him to trust her. With that being said, she was willing to give up so quickly. I was annoyed with her! She knew she had to work at this and she knew what the benefits and circumstances were yet she wanted to act brand new. Quasar was put at a distinct disadvantage in this case and so I expected her to take up some of the slack. He couldn’t see the future! Stop acting like he had to read minds too!

Fortunately, both of them came to their senses and realized that they would be much better together than apart.

Yes, they were seized by seduction, but they were also seized by love.

This was a solid addition to the Protector series and now I hope that Stonewall’s story will continue the momentum.

I will give this book a 3.5 rating. However, I had many problems with the story. I appreciated the plot, but not the lack of character development and the overt sexual tension. It was a bit too much.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin for the opportunity to read and review this title.

I am reviewing the book, Seized by Seduction, written by author, Brenda Jackson. An ARC ebook.

When bodyguard Quasar sees psychic investigator Randi for the first time, even before they've said a word to each other, there is an undeniable connection between them. Could it be love at first sight, or is their fate already mapped out for them? Here are my thoughts:

^^ From the onset Quasar and Randi's story is what I would call a whirlwind romance, loaded with sexual tension, a juicy love at first sight romance, and enough family drama to keep a whole series alive. Since this is book two, there must be more coming. Excuse the pun.

^^ I liked how psychic Randi helps the police solve crimes, as this work keeps her character busy, throwing her life into disarray and adventure.

^^ Quasar's character is also very likeable, with his own family problems to contend with, which provided more realism.

^^ I found it easy to connect Jackson's characters which involved different family units that are multidimensional with realistic issues to work through.

^^ When pushed together by fate I couldn't wait to see how this couple would overcome the obstacles thrown in their path. Will they find true love in each other, or have they come together too soon for it to last?

^^ The suspense in the story kept me guessing right until the end. Who can be trusted in this action packed race against time?

Overall: Brenda Jackson delves wonderfully into the lives of each character bringing their stories alive for your reading pleasure. A climactic and emotional tale of suspense, romance and danger!

One look across a crime scene changes everything for Quasar and Randi. I loved this chemistry between them pulling them together. I really loved that Brenda created such a strong woman in Randi. Not only with her special powers, but she is brave and sassy and smart. LOVE that she is such a match for Quasar. He isn't looking for something more than just a physical connection, but he can't deny that there is more for them. He resists or tries to anyway. They are sizzling hot together. I loved that he is all alpha protect his woman even if he can't figure out why. I so enjoyed their story.

I give Seized By Seduction 4 hearts!

Pull up to your comfortable spot and dive into the story of Quasar and Randi, two souls destined to be together, but must find their own way and what a way. Quasar's story is book 2 the the Protector series by Brenda Jackson and if you read book one then you know Randi and Quasar connected at the end of that story. Fast forward to 3 months later and they still have not spent time together, but have been on each other's mind since that time when they first saw each other. Randi knows why Quasar is on her mind because her great-grandmother foretold her of the man who would be her destiny. Randi has a special gift that will take a special man to appreciate and support, hello Quasar. This story is well written with suspense plots twists that have because almost second nature to the author and I love the grown folk conversations between the main characters. I would recommend this book and looking forward to book 3, Stonewall's story.

Randi and Quasar had unbelievable sexual attraction from the first glimpse of each other. Randi is a psychic and has been called names, made fun of, people have tried to get close to her to get lottery winning numbers. She thought she seen it all. Until Quasar doesn't even blink an eye at what she's able to do. He believes in her and has no problem telling and showing that to her.

Quasar is a good man that just got birthed into a crappy family. You definitely don't need enemies when you have that kind of family. He wants answers from them, is he going to be strong enough for them when he gets them?

There was murder, mayhem, danger and I didn't know who to trust. I was questioning everybody! I thought I figured out who was behind it all and I was right!!! Woot!

Seized by Seduction is my first encounter with Brenda Jackson's writing. The Protector series is a series of stand alone novels that involve danger and desire, and the most definitely hunkiest of men.

Randi Fuller is a psychic consultant for the FBI. While wrapping up a case that involved saving the lives of Striker Jennings and Margo Connelly, she locks eyes with her soul mate. She and Quasar Patterson are destined for each other, but he doesn't know it yet. When the opportunity for them to meet in person finally arrives their desire creates sparks!

We've heard the whole knight and shining armor spiel a million times before, but Brenda Jackson takes it to a whole new level. A dangerous case involving a brewing gang war takes Randi to Quasar's home in LA. Even though he has to face the emotional drama of his family, when someone threatens Randi's life Quasar makes it his priority to protect her. Just imagine a lot of male posturing and protectiveness and you've got Quasar in a nutshell.

The romance is intense and intriguing all at once. Both Randi and Quasar are phenomenal characters that take your breath away because of their interesting backgrounds and sheer awesomeness. If you haven't jumped into this series, you're missing out!

Seized by Seduction is a beautifully crafted tale, filled with breathtaking imagery of each scene as the story unfolds. From the moments with family and friends to the growing attraction between the protagonists, to the crime scenes and moments of threat and danger each setting is described in such detail it is easy to picture them in your mind and you get a feeling like you are right there with the characters.
The main focus of the story is the developing relationship between Quasar Patterson and Dr. Randi Fuller. The budding relation is filled with smooth, sensual attraction, such heated passion, flowing of the pages like lava, overtaking all the thoughts of the characters. The love scenes are plentiful, long, and detailed, yet beautifully written with class and style.
There is something timeless about them, Randi and Quasar. They are mature, smart, sophisticated, and educated. They are kind, considerate people. They both have wounded hearts, yet the things Quasar has gone through could have broken his soul as well. My heart ached for him, yet there is redemption, there is healing, there is learning and maturing. The character development with him is drawn with a clear pen, the demons he has to face to be able to move on nearly taking over his mind, heart, and soul once again.
This is a second book in the series, yet there is a multitude of side references to the people who are part of the ensemble. I'm still not sure why did I need all that information about Randi's family (or if this is a spin-off series and they were previous characters that were being updated). I felt it was a bit distracting at times.
But regardless, the story is enticing, alluring, and filled with desire. The touches of danger and menace bring even more spice to the tale, the destiny of the protagonist staying precarious through the story without filling it with angst and despair. A well developed and entertaining, cultivated story

After reading the first book I was on the fence reading this one. I liked Quasar and Randi but everything regarding their relationship happened way too fast. It seems like the common trend with this author. All the couples fall head over heels in love in record time. I prefer a slower burn so this way I can feel the connection. I wish we had more character development. You can only read how much the male lead wants to have sex with the female lead so many times. Quasar has a strained relationship with his father and brother. When I found out the reason why I rolled my eyes. We have Randi who is psychic and she helps the cops solve crimes. I did like this aspect of the story but I felt we didn't get much pertaining to her and her crime solving ability. Randi’s main concern was how she was going to convince Quasar they were meant to be together. We do briefly catch up with the couple from the first book but it wasn't enough for me to care. The story started off pretty good but in the middle it started falling apart for me and the ending seemed rush. I really wanted to enjoy this story just sadly it didn't work out in my favor again.

This is the second book in this series by this author. I couldn't wait to read this book after reading the first and I definitely wasn't disappointed, this book is exceptional. The characters were well developed and the story flowed effortlessly. I was hooked by the first page and couldn't put it down till I'd finished it. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended

Because I did not finish this book, I do not believe it is fair for me to rate or review the book.

This story unfolds into another Brenda Jackson masterpiece as she unravels chapter by chapter a steamy, sensual romance wrapped up in a tense drama-filled plot that includes murder, mayhem and madness.
Take it from me, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this book. You can read it as a stand alone, but I suggest that you read the predecessors (The Granger series and Forged in Desire) to get the back story and continuity.

When ex-con turned bodyguard Quasar Patterson and world renowned psychic investigator Dr. Randi Fuller see each other at a crime scene there is an immediate attraction. They both have issues from their past that caused hurt and have kept their distances as far as relationships went. But their connection is destined but will require work on their part to make it work. Randi comes from a loving family whereas Quasar doesn't. Their family dynamics is like night and day. Another great series from Brenda Jackson with some very strong characters!
