In January 2005, two murders were committed by a lake in Tennessee. Two murders were present and the victims, a man and a woman, were shot twice, execution style.
Two men, whose boat was used to transport the victims before death, were arrested and charged. They were brothers, Sam and Todd Baskin. The judge in the case was Judge Jim Gordon.
This book is a review of the case. It leads the reader from the time the victims were kidnapped through the trial of the brothers. They were found guilty and Todd was sentenced to death. Elder brother Todd Baskin was eventually executed.
Ten years later the judge recalls his “funny feeling” about the whole case when it is revealed that the Baskin brothers were innocent all along. Todd’s execution cannot be taken back. Former Judge Jim Gordon must make the decision whether to keep quiet or release the unfortunate error to the world at large.
This is a very well written account and well thought out. It is precise, consistent and written in an easy to understand timeline.
Well done, Mr. Riley.
I want to thank Netgalley and Dog Ear Publishing for forwarding to me this most educative book to read.

From the first page this book grabs and does not let go. Character development is xcellent until I wanted to hug some characters and not hug others. For me, this book was so well written, I felt like I was a part of the investigation, etc. I read this book in one sitting. Easy read that you will not want to put down. I will look for more from Mr. Riley. Thank you NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced reading copy in return for my honest review.
