A sexy take on a friends to lovers story with a hint of a reunion mixed in! Sabrina Sol brings a lot of culture to the recipe to take us deep into the mind of this hot tempered beauty! The characters are fun and their chemistry is HOT!

Chef Alexa Montoya isn't known for keeping her cool. Her reputation for acting before she thinks proceeds her well, and just when she's starting to aim to do better, she has a run in with an ex and explodes! Thankfully she has a friend who is a lawyer to get her out of the mess she has dug for herself.

Attorney Dante Perez has known Alex since he was roommates with her brother in college. They have history and attraction between them, but she's famous for pushing him away. He's tired of sitting back and watch her put herself out there for loser after loser only to have her heart broken again. Will he have any luck making her see him for the great guy he is this time around?

Attraction is on the menu ....

Alexa is a flavorful as the recipes she creates. With her flamboyant personality, spicy sex appeal and penchant for attracting losers make her a main attraction. When she needs someone to reel in her flair for the dramatic and ward off the bad boy blues, she looks to best friend Dante. He's always had her back, but secretly craved her heart. One heartbreak too many has Alexa in need of more than just a shoulder to cry on. Can Dante win her over with his rescue skills? Delicious Satisfaction just may burn the place down with the fire it radiates. Dante and Alexa are a jambalaya of sugar and spice that sets off sparks as it warms the heart.

***Warning: this is an adult book, and for the eyes of mature readers***

Summary (from Goodreads):

As LA’s hottest up-and-coming chef, Alexa Montoya is known for her ruby red lipstick, award-winning arroz con pollo and a penchant for falling for the wrong kind of men. And when a confrontation with a loser ex-boyfriend lands her in some legal trouble, she’s forced to call her long-time friend, Dante Perez, to bail her out. Only this time, Dante seems different, somehow. More gorgeous, more sexy, more…mouthwateringly irresistible. Suddenly she’s tempted to give the lawyer much more than a simple thank you…

Dante is tired of seeing Alexa with guys who only know how to steal her money and break her heart. He’s watched--and waited for--her long enough. Helping with her legal situation will finally give him a chance to win her over for good. His plan? He’ll seduce her into finally believing that there’s something deliciously right between them…

Despite their chemistry, Alexa can’t trust that Dante won’t leave. But Dante knows how to win a case. And he’ll do whatever it takes to convince Alexa that she’ll always leave him hungry for more…

What I Liked:

Uuuugggghhhhhh, the melodrama (and straight-up drama) hurt this book. I was partly enjoying the story, partly raising a skeptical eyebrow, and partly rolling my eyes. Alexa got on my nerves, and that was that.

Restaurant owner and chef Alexa and her friends decide to go to her ex's new restaurant... and when they get there, Alexa realizes that Nick (the ex) has copied all of her ideas for her dream restaurant. Confronting him in the back, she loses her temper and dumps oil all over him, and when she's leaving, she accidentally breaks a ton of hanging wine bottles. Oops? Good thing Dante Perez, her and her brother's long-time friend and lawyer, is around to clean up her messes. Dante is tired of seeing Alexa date idiot after idiot. How can he prove to her that he's the one for her, and he has been in love with her for years? Alexa has dated a lot of terrible idiots in the past, and Dante is a sweet guy, but how does she know he won't leave her?

The good things about this book: it was short, it was steamy, it was diverse, there was a HEA. I'll start with the length. Usually you want romance novels to be longer, with more steamy scenes and tension and chemistry and tender moments. But the length of this book, as abbreviated as it was, was good. It was a quick read, and it didn't feel rushed.

It was steamy. The author definitely wrote some hot scenes in the book. There could have been more, but I think she got the proportion of steamy scenes just right, for such a short book. Alexa and Dante have known each other for a long time, and both have cared about the other for a long time. They also have a lot of chemistry between them, which led to some pretty steamy encounters.

It was diverse. Both characters have Hispanic background. If I remember correctly, Dante's background is Mexican and Alexa's is Puerto Rican. Alexa and her brother's restaurant serves a variety of Hispanic foods. You could clearly see some touches of Puerto Rican culture, and Hispanic culture in general. Props to the author for that!

A happily-ever-after ending is a given, in romance novels. But I'll state it as a "like" because I don't have a ton of things I liked about the book. The ending was a HEA, which was good and not disappointing.

What I Did Not Like:

Drama drama drama. I honestly cannot stand drama in romance novels (or any novels?). There is enough of it in real life! Don't riddle a romance novel with so much drama. A little drama won't set me off in a rage but when the entire book is full of drama? No thank you.

To begin with, the whole premise of this book is how Alexa lost her temper at her ex-boyfriend's restaurant, and he is suing her and her restaurant for damages and such. NO, Alexa does not have feelings for Nick (the ex) - they broke up a long time ago. But it really bothers me how quickly Alexa lost her temper - and proceeded to dump a bottle of cooking oil on his head? Like a 5-year old? Are we in elementary school? Alexa is so temperamental and impulsive but that... you don't DO that.

Did I mention that Alexa is temperamental and impulsive? Honestly this girl has to be one of the stupidest heroines I've encountered in romance novels, in a long time. I couldn't stand her. Sure, she had her moments here and there (in which I didn't mind her), but for the most part, I really didn't like her. Let's see... she falls for the most idiotic of men - and then cries a river when they cheat on her or dump her or whatever. She has ridiculous trust issues BECAUSE of the dumba**es she dated, which makes her relationship with Dante difficult.

I could not stand how Alexa treated Dante. So hot and cold, push and pull. She kept expecting him to leave her or break her heart or start picking up with every girl on the block. Girl, like you're any better? His past bothers you - what about YOURS? Alexa has dated sooooo many losers, and yet she gets to judge Dante about his (NOT-drama-filled) past relationships? HER relationships cost money and drama (believe me, it's insane, the type of guy she picks over and over). And yet here is Dante, a sweet, selfless, sexy guy who loves her, and she decides to be a little wuss when it comes him? Do you detect my disdain? I couldn't stand Alexa.

The icing on the cake was the end of the book. You know in the climax of romance novels (especially Brazen romance novels) when the hero breaks up with the heroine or the heroine breaks up with the hero? And then one of them (usually the man) has to grovel, whether it's his fault or not? Yeah, that's a thing in this book. ALEXA dumps Dante, but it's Dante that has to make the effort to patch things up with her. Alexa isn't the first to break, isn't the one to fight for her man. But she's the one that broke up with him, hurt him, and ruined the relationship. Um, do we not see the problem her?

That was the last straw and pretty much ensured that this book wouldn't get a positive rating. If that part of the ending had been different, I would have given this book three stars.

Would I Recommend It:

I do not recommend this book to anyone. Trust me when I saw that there are better romance novels, even with Entangled Brazen, that are steamy, sweet, quick, and well-written, that won't piss you off or make you want to strangle the heroine.

Rating:

1.5 stars -> rounded up to 2 stars. And thus ends my foray into Sabrina Sol's romance novels.

Alexa Montoya is one of the hottest chef’s in Los Angeles with a slew of ex-boyfriends that leave a lot to be desired. An encounter with one of these ex’s lands her in jail and the only person she can contact is her brother’s best friend who also happens to be the lawyer for the business she and her brother own. She’s known Dante she he became her brother’s roommate in college and she just as attracted to him now as she was that day years ago when her brother brought him home from college. The chemistry between the two has been there from the beginning but for Alexa, Dante is just simply out of her league.
Dante has wanted Alexa from the day he laid eyes on her. He’s watched her move from one disastrous man to another. Now, he’s pretty much done watching her train wreck relationships and he’s determined to make her see that they could have a future together and that he’s not the spoil rich kid she thinks he is.
Although I enjoyed this book, I couldn’t help feeling like there was something missing. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with this being book three in a series and I didn’t read the two previous books. Alexa annoyed me a bit because it was the typical “I’m not going to show you l like you for fear that you will leave me” whole thing which got pretty old really quickly. This may strange, but at one point I really wished this were a movie so I could picture Alexa’s clothes! They sound awesome! The other thing that did work for me with this book was the quirkiness and the humor. While it may not get four or five stars from me I liked this book. It didn’t hit the level of romance I like (romance not sex) but it was romantic.

It’s been a long time coming and it was so worth the wait.

What do you get when you pair an impulsive chef with a hard working lawyer who just happens to be a long-time friend? Serious sparks and a story that will have you hungry for more and unable to turn the pages fast enough.

Sabrina Sol wraps up her Delicious Desires series with the perfectly named Delicious Satisfaction. I say this because fans of the series have watched the subtle bubble and burn build between Dante and Alexa and now we finally get to see them together and find their HEA and you will turn the last page fully satisfied.

I had a feeling these two would be explosive together and after accidentally inhaling this book, I can say they are off the charts perfect for each other. Who would have thought that playboy Dante would have such a dirty mouth and that strong chef Alexa would practically melt at his feet when they finally cross that line from friends to lovers.

Watching these two learn more about the other while trying to stick to their agreement of sex only and not falling in love was so much fun. Nothing was going to stop the train once it started and when they realise it was always going to happen, cue the happy sighs.

This has been a wonderful series to fall in love with and this book once again shows why I adore this authors writing. I can’t wait for more.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for review.

book three in the delicious desires series, delicious satisfaction, gives us alexa montoya, an up-and-coming l.a. chef and dante perez, her brother's best friend and the one guy who got away.

for years alexa has been planning the restaurant of her dreams. when she realizes her jerk of an ex-boyfriend has basically stolen all her ideas and opened the very restaurant she'd always intended to open, she loses it. in a pretty spectacular manner, since impulse control is something that alexa struggles with. the cops get called on her, she turns to dante to get her out of her mess, since he not only is her brother's best friend, but also his attorney.

alexa is prepared to do the avoidance thing she does so well when it comes to hanging around dante, but he's had it. he doesn't want to pretend that he didn't feel something all those years ago. he wants to pursue the chemistry and pull he feels from alexa. since the magical time they spent together in puerto rico, he's been waiting for her to look at him again, and he's watched her date loser after loser. and he's done waiting. she called him and it's past time to see where they can go.

of course, both alexa and dante have some abandonment issues they need to sort through. alexa has dealt with them by only entering relationships that will fit her preconceived biases, and dante has always held his true self back from everyone. even alexa's brother has no idea that dante is a product of the foster care system. dante has made a good life for himself and continues to pay it forward, and needs to not be ashamed of where he came from. and alexa needs to stop thinking that she's less than, maybe she's reckless and impulsive, but she's also a kickass chef and a good businesswoman. realizing these things about themselves, lets them come together finally. all they needed to do was let go of some of their preconceptions. it's a hard thing to do, but oh so worth it in the end.

also, just a shout out to diversity here. you don't always see an all latino cast of characters in romance novels. and often there are some serious stereotypes that come into play. but as a puerto rican, i feel like the author got all the family dynamics right. and the description of the food was spot on. it made me hungry for some of my mom's own cooking. and made me think of my own abuelas.

When highly successful LA chef Alexa Montoya finds herself in a little trouble her first call is to her friend Attorney Dante Perez. They've been friends for a long time but now it seems Dante is looking for more from their relationship. Dante has wanted to move their relationship out of the friend zone for quite a while but Alexa has always resisted. Now all bets are off and he plans on making her his!

A well done story. Nothing really new or deep but wonderfully written with nicely developed characters and it will definitely keep you entertained. This is a nice quick steamy read with the added bonus of some amazing sounding food! Warning - don't read this book hungry. I definitely recommend it.

Sabrina Sol's DELICIOUS SATISFACTION is filled with comfort and delicious food, one hotshot LA Puerto Rican chef, one Mexican-American lawyer who whispers sexy things, and a bulldog named Gomez. Let me tell you that it's such a good foodie romance and I'm so happy to read some of my fave Mexican food in this book + more Latin food as well. It's so delicious and it just makes me hungry which it's the best when it happens?

Delicious Satisfaction is another winner from contemporary romance author Sabrina Sol. I enjoyed two of Ms. Sol's previous books, so requesting to read this one was a no-brainer. This novella is about successful Los Angeles chef Alexa Montoya, and her attorney, Dante Perez. Alexa and Dante go way back, since Dante is also the best friend of Alexa's twin brother. Alexa gets into a teeny bit of trouble at her ex-boyfriend's restaurant, and as a result, she needs legal representation. Dante comes to her rescue, which evolves into mind-blowing sex and a full-fledged relationship.

This novella brings together two of my favorite things, romance and food. It is nicely written and the combination of discovery, seduction, and realism, is accomplished quite well. Due to Ms. Sol's fine writing skills, I really felt connected to both Alexa and Dante, and I enjoyed being a part of their lives. Dante's dominance in the bedroom is very hot and I melted along with Alexa at his words. If you are a foodie and enjoy very steamy contemporary romances, give this book a read.

The Entangled Brazen imprint cycles through tropes of second chances, friend-to-lovers frequently and I’m wondering if I’ve actually come across every iteration there is in this imprint. “Delicious Satisfaction”—despite the different plot—somehow feels like a very familiar read with characters who exhibit similar kinds of fears and weaknesses as they follow a breakneck route from a recollection of the past to the hotness of the present to a rush to bed with a brevity that that does compromise on depth and development. Alexa Montoya and Dante Perez fall squarely in this category and pretty much went on to do what I thought they would do without surprises.

Honestly, I didn’t think Alexa the smartest of female protagonists though—after talking over needing to be less impulsive with her friends, she decides of all times, to apply that very action to Dante, the man she wants yet is afraid to go for and keep because it’s somehow good practice for the behaviour modification she’s trying to achieve. And because she’s typically unable to leave emotions out of her actions, this thing with Dante goes south quickly and predictably as most no-strings arrangements do in romantic fiction at least. Her insistence on needing to keep things casual was brought up so many times that it became a source of annoyance for me and she predictably runs, scared that she’s unable to do the very thing that has been her downfall. But then it’s up to Dante to convince her that they’re good together, which made me think of her as one of the wimpiest heroines that I thought couldn’t put herself out there properly.

Sabrina Sol is a relatively new author to me and it was more of curiosity that had be sniffing out new titles on Netgalley for my next hit. ‘Delicious Satisfaction’ isn’t a bad read really. Yet I just didn’t find myself sufficiently moved or getting hot and bothered by the story as well as the pairing. But maybe as a cynical reader (but devoted fan of Entangled), I think I’ve inadvertently started to expect more and more.
