This was a very fast paced, action filled book.
We're thrown straight into the action very early on and then follow Juan Pablo as he tries to get to safety.
Overall I found the book to be ok, the pacing for me felt a bit too rushed at times. I was lacking some depth and description which I think could have made this book come alive for me.
I never felt fully immersed in the story or the setting and that was disappointing.
There were definitely moments I enjoyed, and the idea behind this story was great, but overall I just found myself craving a little more character depth and world description.

This is different than any story I've read so far this year and I appreciate that. Some parts of the story didn't keep my attention and I found myself skimming but overal I liked it.
Juan Pablo was an ok character, some times I connected most times I did not. I was expecting to feel more fear since he was running from the cartel, but it just wasn't there. I really enjoyed what Juan experienced on the cruise, I thought that part was interesting.
I would read more books by JJ Flowers

This novel was really nicely written, and told a very raw story. I adored the characters, and the plot, and the descriptions were just perfect. However, I'd say that it didn't always hold my interest fully. All in all, I would recommend reading this beautifully written book.
