A gripping and original crime thriller turned super natural read.
Different and intriguing with a dark protagonist. I read this a little while ago now and it's plot is still stuck in my head.

I did not finish this novel as I didn't enjoy the story line. For people who read supernatural novels this is a well written book

Omg......... this book was amazing I flew threw the pages with Olympic speed I was hooked from the very first page. I found it full of twists and turns threw out and it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way threw  I would defiantly recommend this book if you like a good book to keep you reading threw the night hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did

I love a good thrill and this didn’t disappoint. I’m so glad to have gotten the opportunity to read this book and I’ll definitely be reading more from B.E. Jones in the future.

Poor poor Melly. Waking up in a strange bed next to a man who isn’t her man, when this stranger’s wife enters the room and blanks her. What the hell is going on?? Well you kind of guess from the blurb. Mel is dead, she’s a ghost. But why is she haunting Peter Albright and his family?

I loved having the story told from the perspective of Mel the ghost. The ghost stuck in a kind of purgatory. Oh and the mischief she gets up to, the radio interference, the night-time whispering in Peter’s ear – brilliant!!

Oooo I don’t like Peter … he’s a manipulative git, even when it comes to his own 5 year old. The more I saw him in action, the more I grew to hate him and I had limited sympathy for him as Mel messed with his subconscious. Karma is a bitch when you play with someone else’s thoughts.

As the story progressed, the pieces of the jigsaw that is Mel’s demise slowly fall into place. The twists and turns Jones has intertwined into this unusual tale kept me engrossed and I was invested in finding out who killed Mel. This is a different sort of book to my previous experience of Jones’ writing (Wilderness) but it’s equally as intriguing and packed full of suspense.

Whilst an intriguing and original premise for a mystery thriller, I was not wowed by how it panned out.

DNF at 40% - The premise sounded great, but I really couldn't invest myself unfortunately. I like a book can capture my attention and is believable and even though this could have got better, I didn't feel any of it was believable.

This is a really interesting read, from the point of view of the victim after they died. The story is a little slow to take off, but all builds background - you know that the family must have something to do with the victims death, but it isn't until quite late in the book that the storyline really begins to take off reaches a grand finale.

Where She Went by B E Jones is a clever, addictive tale, a crime thriller with a ghostly element guaranteed to keep the reader gripped.

A fresh take on a 'whodunit' with the protagonist recounting the events that led to her death with a hint of the supernatural

This very enticing premise enticed me into reading this book and as it is written in a confessional first person style I was very interested in discovering what happened.
The author B E Jones lets her ghostly character tell her story.

Set in South Wales, this fantastic story kept me gripped until the very exciting conclusion which I just would not have guessed. Recommended.

I don't often do this, but I am sorry to say that I just couldn't finish this book.

I was more than halfway through the book and suddenly realised that I just didn't care enough to find out what happens. I feel this book was more than just a slow burn, it didn't seem to go anywhere. I feel this could just be one of those Marmite books...

A great read, written from a different perspective, it kept me guessing. I loved it

I had to persevere with the first few chapters of the book, but I was glad I did as I was kept intrigued all through as to how Melanie had died. The characters were all difficult to like and warm to as they all had massively flawed personalities especially Melanie. The further I got into the book the harder it became to put down and after racing to the end I was sad to have to put it down.

Told from the main characters perspective, who also happens to be our murder victim mad for an unstoppable read.
Melanie, although not a very likable character kept me interested to learn more about her, her family, friends and life and life choices. I thought I had worked out who the killer was only to be hit by a fantastic plot twist.

Be prepared this book has the most incredible storyline…
Parts paranormal, parts mystery and parts thriller, Where She Went follows the ghost of TV journalist Melanie Black as she tries to discover who killed her? Why? And how to bring them to justice?
The book features a great cast of characters, some incredibly likable and some I straight up detested. But with such good variety there is always something for everyone.
I absolutely loved this book and finished it in a day, I am positive it will be one of my great mystery reads of the year. It has a great even pace and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout and although paranormal is not my usual fancy, I loved the fact that Melanie was dead (sounds weird but you know what I mean).

Where She Went is an intriguing novel which centres much more on character development and relationships rather than focussing on a ‘mystery’ as such. It’s not exactly what I expected but I hugely enjoyed reading it, from first page to last. Told from the point of view of Melanie, we (and Melanie herself) soon realise that she’s actually dead, and viewing the life of her murder Peter and his family, as they seem to carry on with their lives. What follows is a really interesting and rather unique story which lets us peek into Peter’s through Melanie’s eyes.

We learn more about what happened in the run up to her death, and see as she tries to lead the police to him in their investigation. I’m not usually a huge fan of novels with a supernatural element, but this is written really well, with Melanie as a ghost allowing us all access into their home life – Peter is such a horrible, despicable character and I hated him so much! We also see news reports through Melanie’s perspective, and her comments on what’s happened can be quite amusing. In a way I wish we didn't know that Peter was her murderer right from the start, as I'm always a fan of the 'whodunnit' elements in crime novels, but the fact that we did know meant this novel was more of a different read for me.

Melanie herself seems a bit unlikable a times, to be honest, but she certainly didn’t deserve to die the way she did – and the story of how that happens actually unfolds in a way I wasn’t expecting, leading to some surprises (despite us knowing who killed her) and therefore keeping me hooked. I found myself wanting to keep picking up this novel whenever I had time to read, and it offers a fresh take on the usual crime novel format!

Melanie has woken up, in a strange room and things just get even more stranger when she discovers that no one can see her and she is in fact..dead.
what follows is her discovery of that, and her journey to the truth whilst learning a lot about the people around her, the people she thought she knew.
it is cleverly written and keeps you reading. I loved this for its intensity and the story that it was.
definitely worth a read.
