Unfortunately I got through 41% of this book and could not go on any more. In the beginning it was fine I liked reading it but as it got further through the book it was like walking through treacle. The story line was so predictable and then it just got boring and I couldn’t keep up every time I started reading it again I couldn’t remember what was happening so had to go back. In the end I really couldn’t keep going so just deleted it.

What a joy! Absolutely loved this romp through the farms of Ludlow and the pretty mews terraces of Kensington. Found Molly to be lovable, wacky and actually thinking a bit like me! Would love to read more by this author.

Molly has a second chance at her life now that her husband has died. Enter a handsome stranger throwing a spanner in the works.
This was a good read but didn’t quite tick all my boxes. Thank you to netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Over the years I have enjoyed the majority of Catherine Alliotts books and this one was no different. Our lead character Molly has traded London for a dream home in the Country, the only problem is that it wasn't actually her dream but her husband David's. When David dies and Molly is left alone to raise their kids and a farm, life gets tough. When she find out that she has been left a London townhouse by a distant relative she decides its time to move on. However it seems there is a man already living in Molly's new house. This book although enjoyable wasn't one of my favourites by this author and her children seemed very spolied, and Molly very naive at times. I know these are small things but overall they lessenned the enjoyment for me. Overall it was okay but just not one of my favourites by this author

DNF. I couldn't connect with this book at all and found it really hard to get into. I had high hopes for this, which is a shame.

I loved this book a lot. It was beautifully written and a wonderful story. The characters were great and the book kept my interest and was read really quickly. I would recommend to my book friends.

Molly has moved from London to rural Herefordshire, chasing the Good Life, gone has those dreadful tube commutes to life in the country, the absolute dream. Well not quite her dream, but that of David, her dead husband.

When a distant relative of her late husband does, he leaves a London townhouse in her possession, and Molly considers leaving the countryside and going back to what was her good life. But there is a big BUT!

There is a man already living in Molly’s new house and some reminders of the her past rear their heads to leave Molly feeling more confused than ever. Will she stay or will she go?

A lovely sunny afternoon read, one which grabs you and transports you into someone else’s problems.

I enjoyed this book as it’s a bit different to your usual chick lit book with a few twists along the way.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

Normally i devour Catherine's books in one siting however long. (Ok i'll get up to pour a glass of wine or go to the loo but...)
However This one wasn't quite like that. I couldn't gel with the characters, in fact at times I got quite annoyed with them. If it had been a paperback I'd've been tempted to throw it across the room.
I did enjoy it, up to a point, but won't read it gain, not like some others I would. Sorry.

I didn’t like this book. I struggled to get into it from the beginning. I put it down ages ago and then only recently picked it up again. I didn’t mind the main character at first, but once I got further into the book the more I struggled with her. She wasn’t someone whom I could relate to. I understand people make mistakes, but Molly turned it all into a martyrdom. Hanging on because of her guilt. And then the ending got on my nerves. Seriously? Let’s tie it all up with a lovely bow and everything is hunky dory. Sigh. And her kids were seriously annoying. They were selfish, self centred and rude. And she let them be that way.

With its marshmallow pink cover this book is certainly one you can judge by it's cover. It is a light hearted fluffy piece of chick lit. That doesn't mean its bad, in fact it was a fun read, but don't do into it expecting anything too serious or deep.
Grad this book for a break from more serious reads. Enjoy the break. Revel in the lightness. Grab a glass of wine and sink in.

🔆 Received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review 🔆

This was almost an DNF book and I can hear you asking why?! If you’ve read other reviews you’ll see that they saw it as a entertaining lighthearted read, something to read on a hot summers day.

It took me forever to read, in fact nearly a year based on the fact that I had an advanced copy. It’s not that it’s a bad read if that had been the case I could have easily marked it as DNF and moved on.

It’s that there was a story that I really wanted to read but I found Molly a difficult character to understand. There was a number of layers to her personality that there didn’t need to be. She felt overly complicated and difficult to like in parts.

Maybe it’s our difference in age that made it difficult for me to connect or her total disregard for what’s right in front of her. On reflection there are a number of reasons I disliked her character.... she didn’t seem to learn or grow through out the story.

There was no self discovery of her character, no passion to take on the world.

I know I know..... you’re thinking it’s only meant to be a lighthearted read. True. And there was definitely something in Catherine’s writing that had me wanting to read more. I just felt underwhelmed by this instalment.

BUT takeaway my dislike of Molly’s complex character hidden beneath those layers is actually a charming romantic novel. Push pass it and you’ll find a lovely adorable read.

Happy Reading xx

Sweet and short book that you'll fly through! Super easy to get into, and you can't help but root for the main character. Overall a perfect read for summer, or when you want something a bit lighter.

An entertaining read. It was enjoyable but not one of my favourite recent reads.
Light-hearted and funny at times, but with some underlying issues touched upon.

I think I would describe it as Chick-Lit and it was an easy read, great for on holiday and at one time I probably would have rated it more highly, but I suspect that my tastes have changed over the years and I know prefer something a little more deep and meaningful.
It won't put me off reading other work by this author.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a lovely easy book to read which you just fall into. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters and will certainly be reading more by this author.

Funny and yet troubling as Molly does not seem to know who she really is. Maybe this applies to many of us if only we would realise it......but then it's perhaps as well we don;t as it leads to such complications....read on!

This is a nice easy read, which fans of Caroline's will love.

It is the first book of Caroline's I have personally read, but I will certainly be looking out for more of them in the future.
