This isn't my favourite Beatriz Williams, but it's still very good. This is a twisty, historical romantic suspense novel about Virginia, who is the sister of Sophie from A Certain Age (although it's been so long (three years) since I read A Certain Age that I had forgotten the connection until I saw that it was listed as A Certain Age 2 when I started writing this review) and who is in Florida after the death of her husband. Virginia and Simon were estranged at the time of his death and she's trying to unravel what happened to him. The narrative is split between 1917 when they met while she was working as an ambulance driver in France and their subsequent romance and 1922 as the story of their romance unravels.

I got more and more anxious for Virginia as the story went on and the twists kept coming, but I was pleased/happy with the resolution. It's not as good as Her Last Flight, but it is a lot of fun. If we were going to the beach right now, it would be a great beach read.

This book is slightly out of my usual genre, but I am so glad I was approved for this. Cocoa Beach as a truly magnificent read. Beatriz's descriptions are second to none, really drawing you into the novel. The characters a are perfectly complex.
The plot was complicated and full of twists and turns which I absolutely loved.
I would recommend this book to anyone, whether you think its your cup of tea or not, as I can guarantee you would love it.
I am definitely going to seek out some of this author's other works.

The book sounded so promising. The description made it sound great. But sadly it didnt live up to my expectations. I found it very hard going and slow. Took a lot not to give up. It did pick up towards the end, but by that time it had ruined the book for me.

In 1917 Virginia has led a sheltered life and decides to break away and sign on as an ambulance driver in France in WWI, the last thing that she was expecting though was to fall in love, especially with a doctor who was already married and had a young son.

Simon married his twin brother Samuel's fiancée when he thought that Samuel had been killed in the war and Lydia was pregnant with his child. Now having met the love of his life he needs to do something about it.

1922 Simon has been killed in a fire in his home on Cocoa beach in Florida and Virginia with her young daughter has come to sort out her inheritance but is everything as it seems and is Virginia getting herself into danger by asking too many questions?

A great book full of intrigue and changing the timelines in alternate chapters worked well as you followed the back story relating to the present. I have read a few books by this author now and have really enjoyed them all

Slow starter but great book.
The excitment and intrigue builds through the book to a page turning finish. I neec to read some more Beatriz Williams books so I know how the characters intertwine.
