Jimmy Holiday is an exorcist even though he hasn't been trained to be one. He has a partner that is a witch named Tabby. She owns a cat. He also has 2 ghosts -- Lucy and Doc Holiday. Lucy is somehow unable to not be with Jimmy. Jimmy if finally getting the classes for exorcism in Italy. He requested a translator which doesn't show up. In his exorcism classes, he gets bored (doesn't understand Italian) so starts playing with Lucy. The first time, he is scolded in Italian. The next time he is caught playing with Lucy, he is thrown out of class. Tabby has stayed home and becomes possessed. Jimmy doesn't realize it at first. I'm stopping now as I don't want to give away all the surprises in the book.

The author has written an excellent horror novel. Besides the horror, there are demons, the devil, ghosts and spooky going-ons. While it is scared, there are moments of humor in this novel. I like how she "messes up" the characters in this book as it adds to the story. I didn't read the previous volumes but was still able to enjoy reading this. I will be going back to the previous books as I think that she will become a favorite author for me.
