The second book in the Kitty Couture Mystery series has definitely lived up to my expectations after having read the tremendously successful first book. The author has once again captured the spirit of New Orleans and Magazine Street through her characters and characterization of the area. Lacy is one spunky heroine who stops at nothing to get to the bottom of the problem at hand. That she does it with snappy, humorous one liners and classy, Southern attitude is a bonus to the overall flow of the story.

The camaraderie and competition between Jack and Chase for Lacey's affections...though Jack's more on the down low...is a wonderful counterpoint to the drama of the crimes of the story. There are the quirky secondary characters that round out the story and add additional flavor and who make the story even more unique than the run of the mill cozy mystery. I'm really looking forward to the next story in the series for all the on going drama of the Lacey, Jack, Chase triangle the most...not too mention to see just how much trouble Lacey may manage to get herself into again.
