As a person who can only draw worms, I loved this book! You will only find worms in it, of course, and most of the time they all look the same, as the worms I draw look, but it has lots of humor. It also allows the reader to do some counting, and use his/her imagination a lot.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE beautifully illustrated picture books. Actually I am kind of an addict to them. But this book also proves how you can make an amazing picture book with only simple, basic, bare illustrations too.

This a fun and whimsical book that is sure to have worm-lovers wriggling with excitement for each new page!

I suppose this is a counting book, for the very, very young reader (ie with someone else doing the actual reading). But it's such a crackpot idea, in such a droll delivery, it made me laugh at the fun of it all, and it will probably serve to make a book the adult doesn't mind being pestered over revisiting. Simply daft, and daftly simple, it's just great.

Amusing but it's a very particular kind of humour. May or may not be a hit depending on the child.

What can I say...I loved this book. It took me a little by surprise to be honest, it was light on words and light on pictures but it had a story to tell and it was absolutely funny and engaging. Will Mabbit can only draw worms, hence why the book is about worms. He can't draw flying unicorns or outer space, or even the amazing adventure that worm six had, so this book is solely about worms.

The story starts with one worm and then two and then when they are side by side which one is which? They all look the same but Will knows they are all different. The book gets funnier and funnier and what I found the funniest was worm eight and eight and a half (You will have to read the book to know what I mean...go on it's worth it!)

The colours throughout the book are either really bright or black and white, each page interactive in its simplicity. The book teaches the children to count and it could be said that apart from the humour that the counting is the focal point of the book, however I do not think it is that simple. I think for every reader there is a different interpretation.

I highly recommend this book because it was about worms because Will Mabbitt can only draw worms!

A brilliant book to inspire you if drawing just isn't your thing - made us laugh out loud and reminded us that you can find fun in the simplest thing. We'll never look at a worm in the same way again.
