3.5 stars--SIN FOR ME is the third installment in Jackie Ashenden’s contemporary, adult MOTOR CITY ROYALS erotic, romance series focusing on a tight knit group of friends from Detroit, Michigan. This is mechanics Gideon Black, and Zoe James’ story line. SIN FOR ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Zoe and Gideon) SIN FOR ME is a friends to lovers story line that follows Zoe as she struggles with her love and attraction to the man she has known since she was six years old. Gideon and Zoe were once foster siblings but Gideon aged out of the system and found himself struggling to survive on the mean streets of Chicago and Detroit. Gideon’s past is dark; his former life a dangerous secret but his over protective alpha persona threatens his friendship with Zoe-a friendship, of which, Zoe wants something more. What ensues is the back and forth, yin and yang tempestuous romance between Zoe and the man she has loved for most of her life. Someone from Zoe’s past has returned with a message-a message that threatens everyone Zoe loves.

The relationship between Zoe and Gideon is a friends to lovers relationship but lovers is a questionable description for Gideon’s treatment of the woman he considers more than a friend. Gideon does not want to think of Zoe as anything more than the foster sibling from when they were young but Zoe’s is determined to prove to Gideon that she is worthy of someone special in her life, even if it means going out and finding someone else by herself. Our heroine’s defiant stance pushes Gideon a little too far. The $ex scenes are contentious and intense, bordering on abusive with some scenarios of questionable consent. Gideon’s treatment of Zoe is problematic and heartbreaking but Zoe is wiling to accept all of Gideon’s aggression both in and out of the bedroom because Gideon is the man with whom she fell in love.

All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting characters including Zee and Tamara (Dirty For Me #1), and Levi and Rachel (Wrong For Me #2). The world building continues to focus on the dysfunctional nature of the rag-tag family of former foster and streets kids who have banded together in support and love for one another. Gideon is determined to keep his relationship with Zoe a secret but sins from the past come hunting for our story line couple.

SIN FOR ME is a story of family and secrets. The premise is raw and edgy; the characters are broken, colorful and energetic. The romance struggled with the push and pull between love and hate; want and need, right and wrong. Gideon’s behavior with the woman he claimed to love is painful and hard.

This is the third book in the series and I must say I was a little disappointed in this one. Gideon Black the owner of the garage where everyone hangs out is one of the main characters and you do find a lot about him and his past. You also find out about Zoe James and why Gideon has always looked after her and the way he has. Zoe though is in love with Gideon who is scared because of his past and now his past is there in Detroit along with the man who says he is the birth father of Zoe. Gideon says that it is true and you find out about her mother you has passed away and why they left Chicago. You find out a lot about Zoe’s character and you also understand her frustration about why her life has been the way it has for the years that they have lived in Detroit, but as much as you want to like Gideon you are feeling for Zoe and her situation. There are not as much drama for me any way as the previous book which I felt was grittier. This is still a good book but I felt it was just lacking something. I liked the characters, but if you have been reading the series it is a book you need to read.

Having read the other books in this series and loved them, I had high hopes for Gideon and Zoe's story. Unfortunately I was incredibly disappointed.

First off, the Gideon in this story just didn't match the one in the other stories for me. We only saw glimpses of his protective streak in this book. Instead we were introduced to Gideon the a**. I hated the way he treated Zoe throughout the book but especially once he gave in to her. I hated how immature Zoe was throughout the book. She honestly acted like a 16 year old girl instead of a 25 year old woman. If Gideon was going to fall for her, I would have expected it to be because she didn't act like an immature little brat all the time.

Gideon kept Zoe too secluded and protected after taking her from her mother's home but never told her the real reason. We don't know if Zoe finished school or how Gideon handled her going to school (how was she registered?), although we're told she received a scholarship to an Ivy league school. Gideon made it so Zoe was dependent upon him for everything; she had no chance to meet anyone else or have friends her own age.

This was a very disappointing book in this series. I'm not sure if there will be another book after this one, but if there is I hope it reverts back to the style of the first two.

The only complaint that I have for this book is that it had to end. Great story. Gideon is such a fierce protector of all that's his. In this case his protectiveness got in his way of love.

A sexy scorcher of a read. Jackie Ashenden's Motor City Royals are dirty, hot, angsty reads. I enjoyed losing myself in her world for awhile and hope she considers returning to the setting for future stories.

Due to timing problems, I did not end up reviewing this title. I appreciate the opportunity to read this title.

While I usually adore all of Jackie's books, this one felt more mediocre. I still enjoyed it, but I wasn't on the edge of my seat as I usually am when reading her books. Hoping her future releases pick back up again.

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book

I waited and waited for this book and boy was I glad I read it. This book was sexy...sad... and romantic. Zoe has always wanted Gideon but he knows that everyone will not accept everything that he wants with Zoe.

And so it begins...secrets from the past...lies told...hearts broken...and an overall great story.

I think what I loved the most about Zoe is that she was so honest with her feelings. She was like that meme that holds it's heart out saying " I know its not much but please be gentle". She wanted so much.. for Gideon to see her as a woman...she wanted to live and she wanted to be loved.

When it came to Gideon he really shines in this book because he had this huge internal battle where he felt like he had to do the right thing. I also loved that moment when he realizes that he can not control everyone and everything. That was probably the most beautiful moment in the book...to see the mighty fall and this small scrap of a girl being the one that can pick up all of the pieces.

If you can't tell I loved this book! Great job Jackie Ashenden!

This was a hot one! This author knows how to write hot alpha men! I was a little lost in the beginning because I didn't read the book before this but got better. Can't wait to read more!

Although Sin for Me is the third and last book in Jackie Ashenden's Motor City Royals series, it's only the second novel in the series I've read, and it's one I've been eagerly looking forward to because it features the dark, gritty and enigmatic Gideon Black, and although his relationship with the heroine of this novel, Zoe, isn't an easy or romantic one--no champagne, roses or heartfelt proposals here, it's as dirty and gritty as the setting of the series itself, and I give it 5 stars.

Gideon has known Zoe since she was six years old, meeting her when they shared one year in the same foster home in Chicago. To say that they each had a dark, terrible childhood is putting it mildly. Even after Gideon aged out of the foster system, he kept coming back to see Zoe, and when Zoe was 12, Gideon showed up and spirited her away from her drug-addicted mother and took her with him to Detroit. He's considered her his little foster-sister for the past 13 years, listened to her troubles, taken care of her, protected her and been there for her all the way. But now, Zoe is feeling stifled by his overprotective ways. She's a never-been-kissed, never had a date, 25-year-old virgin--she's in love with Gideon but she realizes there's no hope for them as a couple because he just doesn't see her that way, and so she wants to be released, allowed to date, meet new people, and experience sex, and after she finally borrows some club-worthy clothing and sneaks out to a club, Gideon tracks her down, finds her and basically puts her under house arrest. He's certainly got good reason for doing so--Zoe's life is in danger, and Gideon's been keeping secrets from her for far too long, and as he's slow to recognize, he wants to keep Zoe for himself.

Gideon is one hard and hardened character, and he's had to be. He has plenty of skeletons in his closet, and he's kept them there ever since leaving Chicago. When Zoe forces the issue of her attraction for him, he figures that by being tough and engaging in rough sex with her, his dark side will scare her away and make her get over her attraction to him, and if rough sex scenes turn you off or offend you, this isn't the novel for you. Once Gideon has had Zoe, he can't seem to get enough of her, but even after their relationship becomes sexual, he still keeps Zoe at a distance, still limits her freedom, and still keeps his secrets, which he'll have to reveal.

Sin for Me is a novel about choices--who we choose to love, who we choose to protect, how and where we choose to live, who we choose to tell our secrets to and who we hide them from, how we treat the people in our lives, and, when push comes to shove, who really matters to us and what we're willing to give to them and give up for them. The depth of Zoe and Gideon's feelings for one another and the sacrifices they're willing to make for each other brought this reader to tears.

If this is the first Motor City Royals novel you've read, be forewarned--it's dark, it's dirty, it's gritty and it's definitely not for the under 18 reader. But, if you're looking for a dark romance, with a sinfully hot alpha male, steamy sex scenes, plenty of angst, and characters who grab hold of you, and hang onto you until the very last page, then I think you'll enjoy Sin for Me as much as I did.

This is the third book in the series by this author and can be read as a stand alone read. Yet another fantastic read from this author, you are always guaranteed a fantastic story with this author. This is an enjoyable and flirty story. The characters are fab even a little frustrating at times. This author has a fab way of bringing you complex characters mixed with an exceptional story. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

I read through to chapter eight and it was just a repetitive back and forth and it just got old after a while and I decided to move on. If by chapter three a book doesn't have my attention I normally give up but because I've read this author before I read further. This book just was not for me.

MS Ashenden knows how to write a story that is powerfully emotional, that will pull you in from the first page, and keep you up late reading. I loved this one, a story of two tortured people, Zoe and Gideon had relied on each other for a long time, they have been through so much, and although it took them a while to see that love had been growing for all of that time that the type of love was changing.

Gideon has worked hard to keep Zoe safe moving her to Royal and starting a new life bringing in friends that become family they are a close knit family and we have seen the others find love but people are moving in people from the past that can cause a lot of trouble for them and Zoe is now in danger it is time that Gideon tells her the truth and this is going to change a lot of things in their lives.

Zoe has loved Gideon forever and that love has changed and gotten stronger over the years but it is now time for her to grow up and take charge and it takes a lot to convince Gideon that they are perfect for each other what a sexy sensual journey that is.

I have been really looking forward to this book and was not disappointed it is gritty, dirty and so very strong a must read. I loved seeing Zoe finally win Gideon over as danger steps in and this brings them closer thank you for another keeper.

If I already wasn't a fan, this book would have sealed the deal for me. I loved it. Gideon and Zoe fall in love after numerous bumps and scrapes as they navigate the changes in how they see one another. For Zoe it was about her feelings gaining maturity and for Gideon it was seeing Zoe not as a child he swore to protect, but as a woman. The chemistry between these two sizzles right off the pages. This is a not to be .missed book and a great addition to the series.

Unfortunately, Sin for Me is a miss. There are parts I like, but for the most part, I couldn't get behind it. The premise is this: Gideon is Zoe's much older (12 years older I believe) former foster brother. Zoe is a naive, 25 year old virgin who has worshipped Gideon since she met him at the tender age of 6. He's protected her fiercely for most of her life, to the extent that she's never had a boyfriend, never dated, never gone to college, only worked at his garage. You get the picture. He's the main man in her life, but he's always only thought of her as a little sister. That is, until just now when her love and hero worshipping has come to a head and she's pushing him for more. He won't let her go out and find someone to take her v card, so she pushes him until he's the one to do the honor, and I say honor in the most dubious sense because the actual act wasn't the way any woman's virginity should be taken. It was brutal, cruel, and only pleasurable in the most basic of physical ways.

Although I see seeds of goodness in Gideon, (he's protective and loves the family he's created fiercely), he's as he says, not a good guy. Yes, he has some goodness, but he's not really a good person. The way he treats his and Zoe's new relationship is mostly without tenderness, without love, and certainly without much explanation for his dominating, cruel ways. I kind of understood where he was coming from, but I feel he could have done a lot more to give Zoe some tenderness and love that she so craved. Of course, he didn't realize he was in love with her until he had lost her, but at that point in the story, I felt it was far too late.

And then we have Zoe, ugh, Zoe. I don't like her character at all. She's whiny, naive beyond compare, selfish, and the brat Gideon constantly accuses her of being. Of course, she didn't really have much of a choice but to be that way, as Gideon kept her in a figurative cage for most of her life, and she had no other good role models upon which to model herself. Her mother viewed her as a major inconvenience, she had no father figure, so I suppose it's natural that she grew up to be whiny and naive. It isn't until the very end that she looks outside herself and finally does something for someone other than herself. That was the point where her character finally redeemed herself, but like Gideon, I felt it was too little too late.

There are two points that I like about Sin for Me, though: 1) their chemistry is hot, and 2) the epilogue is sweet. Other than that, I'm afraid that nothing about Sin for Me makes me want to read the rest of this series, unfortunately.

3.5stars
Sin for Me is another book in the series Motor City Royals novel. It is a bit darker story with Zoe and Gideon finally comes together. But everything is not as easy as it seem there are a lot of secrets a lot of emotions that are hidden, especially of Gideon’s side because Zoe is open book. Zoe is young and was hidden from outside world for so long and of course she want break free. Gideon has his one reason why she treats Zoe the way he does and after all it all comes out. Of course no one is satisfied. Relationship between Gideon and Zoe is complicated from the start it starts from the wrong reason. Their passion is explosive hot and insatiable. The end is unexpected and is great that story is not predictable.

Great ending to a series...4.5stars!!

I’ve become attached to all the wonderful characters in the Motor City Royals series. Sin For Me is the third and final book, it is Gideon Black and Zoe James’ story.

Since the age of six, Zoe has always seen Gideon as her foster big brother, protective, caring and a nurturing. Both Zoe and Gideon were fosters for a brief time, growing up with rough childhoods. Gideon took Zoe when she was 12 away from a drug addicted mother, and away from Chicago for a fresh start in Detroit. Leaving behind bad memories and a past full of violence.

Now 25, Zoe wants more than being friends with Gideon. She is so ready for Gideon to make her a woman. And even though Gideon fights his attraction to Zoe, the underlying feelings each share is undeniable. But there’s a reason why Gideon is overprotective of Zoe, and he’ll soon have to reveal his secrets he’s kept from her and their small family. Because there’s real danger that followed them, and it promises to threaten Zoe’s safety.

Rachel, Levi, Zee and Tamara, members of their self-made family, are equally stunned of the life Gideon left behind and the truth about Zoe’s heritage. Gideon wants to claim Zoe for himself, but he’s not a gentle man. For Zoe, it’s always been Gideon. It doesn’t matter he has a sordid past, she wants Gideon to see her as a woman and not the little foster sister. And Gideon is about to show her what loving a rough man like him is all about. Wow, the sexy scenes are way hot!

Sin For Me is a great story. All the characters have all been well defined, and very real. I just love Gideon, though a tough guy, he’s always been there for Zoe, a friend, family and loving partner. I’ll miss this series but so glad how things turned out.

Oopsie daisy! I did not see that one coming i.e. Gideon's past. And oh yay! for Zoe for finally get Gideon to open his eyes and realize the woman she'd become. What I didn't like was the flack the others gave him. She's his "FOSTER" sister. No blood connection at all. And hey if Zoe chose him that's all the permission they needed.

As usually the story is raw and Gideon show his not so nice side. But broken people getting a do-over and finding true love is Ms. Ashenden's specialty. All in all a great ending to this gritty but romantic series.
