Cloe and Gideon grew up as foster brother and sister but something happened that always brought them back and the last time Gideon took her away to protect her but never telling her the reason till one day she forced it out of him.

I am usually a fan of Jackie but this one fell flat for me. Which really makes me sad because I liked the first two books in this series. The thing I wasn’t feeling with this book was the couple…I liked Gideon and Zoe separate but didn’t love them together at all. Also I wasn’t a fan of the way Gideon treated Zoe, it was almost like he owned her and she didn’t get a say…..and ask my husband that doesn’t fly in my house haha.
This little speed bump isn’t something that would make me stop reading Jackie, I feel in series some books just can’t be for everyone! I will her all the luck with released and to help with that I will only post the amazon live link on release day and not my review!

Another fantastic story by Ms. Ashenden. She keeps me interesting with every book. Enjoyed a lot.

Gideon and Zoe have known each other for years, in fact they were once foster siblings. Zoe has always had a thing for Gideon and she is determined to make Gideon see her for the woman she is not the girl she was. Gideon can't quite reconcile the feelings he has for Zoe, the little girl he bonded with once upon a time. Sparks fly and boundaries are tested in the latest for Jackie Ashenden.

Going into the Motor City Royals series, I was the most excited about Gideon and Zoe's story and it turns out I was most disappointed by them. I love a good unrequited crush story, especially when the crushee suddenly wakes up to how desirable the crusher is. But when the crushee has basically been your foster brother/guardian/jailer since you were 13 years old? Ew.
Jackie Ashenden usually creates strong, smart heroines who fully challenge their tough guys. Not so much Zoe. The "taboo" aspect of Gideon and Zoe being briefly foster siblings wasn't troublesome for me, even if their friends (Zee and Tamara from Dirty For Me and Levi and Rachel from Wrong for Me) are bothered by it. What did bother me was that Gideon made himself Zoe's guardian and proceeded to treat her like a precocious delicate child for over a decade. He wouldn't let her go to Princeton (!) because he was worried about the campus' security so he made her stay in Detroit and work in his auto shop (how is that safer?). Gideon won't let her date or go out, so Zoe is now a 25-year-old virgin lusting after him because he is the only man she is ever around. Oh, and then there's the fact that Gideon never told her about her biological father, a dangerous and shady politician, so Zoe is completely blindsided when Gideon announces that she can't leave their apartment because her father may find her.
SPOILER and RANT: So when Zoe throws tantrum after tantrum and threatens to leave, Gideon does what every responsible guardian/caretaker/friend does - he spanks her, mocks her for liking it, and then roughly takes her virginity on the hood of a car in his auto shop. Gideon justifies this to himself by saying he is doing this to frighten his "little one" from his dark desires. Oh, and his calling this 25-year-old woman "little one" is just creepy, both in and out of bed. Protector of the Year, this guy.
I still look forward to this author's books, but as a personal preference, I think I will stay away from any of them with such a power imbalance like Gideon and Zoe's.

3.5 Stars I liked Sin for Me but the internal dialogue was too much at times. The story did develop as it progressed and overall I did enjoy this story. I will continue to read more by this author

I'd been looking forward to Gideon's story since the series began, and I'm sorry to say I'm disappointed. The detached, emotionally muddled hatefuck thing that he starts their relationship on is disappointing. And so cold and sudden that even though written in a sexy manner, it was almost clinical and offputting. His possessive hovering wasn't hot, it was sort of overwhelming and borderline creepy. Zoe was written at 25, but was maddeningly immature and flaky - I almost felt like she was delayed in some way, and his taking advantage of that was skeevy, not sexy. A definite miss, this might be the only Ms Ashenden book I've ever NOT loved to pieces :(

I've read all three books in this series. There's normally one book better than the others, but not this time. They were all just mediocre.
I was about to smack Zoe and Gideon both. There was so much internal dialogue that was the same stuff over and over and over...and over. Gideon was just a plain old jerk when he finally said yes to Zoe. There's plenty of the previous couples included in this book. Nice little epilogue.

A must read series.. Loved Gideon's alpha made attitude. He didn't want to get involved with Zoe. Zoe has a mind of her own and wants Gideon, so she goes after what she wants...

In the beginning everyone is hung up on the idea that a life time ago, Gideon and Zoe were foster siblings. It might be brought up a little too much for my taste.
Gideon is a total jerk to Zoe, she does everything including begging, to get him to take her virginity. Even after it takes him awhile to figure out that Zoe can handle what ever he can dish out. Don't worry he redeems himself though. Zoe is so hung up on Gideon, that she doesn't see any of the bad things that he's done. It's almost like she has Stockholm Syndrome. Gideon rescued her from a bad life and it is said that she never got a chance to choose her own life. All decisions were made for her.
It might sound like I'm only writing about the negatives of this, but truly these are the only things I didn't care for. And then only because they were mentioned repeatedly in the beginning.
The sex scenes were off the charts hot. The friendships that the group have is solid. And the way they work together is admirable.

I have been waiting for this story and was happy for the opportunity to read it. I like how all of the characters are woven and maintained throughout the story. The relationship between Gideon and Zoe was already established but their back story was revealed here. My only criticism is that, in my view, Gideon's treatment of Zoe hinged on abusive at times.

Who could resist that hunk on the front cover. That bod is enough to have any woman drooling. This book ticks all the boxes for me in terms of the erotic genre. It has the sexy erotic storyline and a man who brings a whole new level of handsome to the table. One look at the man on the cover and you can imagine him as the key character throughout the length of the novel which makes it all the more exciting. I won't reveal the content or give away any spoilers however I would highly recommend this novel to those people who enjoy erotic based novels.
