I love books that jump between different characters and this is another classic from the fab Lisa Jewell! Great suspense - you want to keep reading yet on the other - u don't want to finish!

This is the first Lisa Jewell I have read but it certainly won't be the last.. It had me gripped from the start. I thought some of the characters were perhaps a little improbable - thinking about the Ross family in particular- but this didn't detract from it being a really good story. I liked the fact that the strands were all kept separate until near the end and that there were twists that I didn't predict. The final chapters were particularly gripping and I was unable to put it down. So glad that Alice and Frank will be free to get together properly eventually. An excellent read that I shall recommend widely.

Another solid reliable read from Lisa Jewell, again I really enjoyed the mystery aspect but would have maybe liked to know a little more of the characters back stories (especially Alice). I read this and "Then she was gone" back to back and shall be watching out for more.

I couldn't put down this exciting, believable and intriguing mystery from Lisa Jewell. The relationship between Alice, lonely single mother and Frank who has lost his memory is well drawn. Three story lines twist and turn in parallel and kept me guessing right to the end. I'm recommending that my Book Club read 'I Found You'. Thank you, NetGalley for introducing me to Lisa Jewell - I'll definitely be reading more of her work.

Yet another triumph for Lisa Jewellery. I have yet to read one of her books that I did not like. I can never put them down.!

I Found You is a highly addictive read. I had the whole book read in one day as I had to find out what was going on. While I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, I found that I had guessed a lot of the bigger stuff early on. This niggling feeling in my head continued as I was reading until it was proved to be true. I think that Lisa Jewell has a great writing style though. Short chapters, great descriptions and interesting characters are what made this book for me. I definitely liked it, and I would read more from this author, but overall I think I've read so many similar themed books lately, that the twists just didn't wow me. I would still happily recommend I Found You!

I found you has reminded me why I limit my reading of psychological thrillers....they are no good for my blood pressure and this book has had my heart pounding and given me hypoxia from holding my breath so often with the suspense and shocks that are slowly revealed in this cracker of a story.
It's hard to give a full synopsis as I feel I'd be in danger of giving away spoilers and I hate that, so very briefly Alice finds a man on the beach in front of her house who has no idea who he is or how he arrived there. Lily a newly married bride from Eastern Europe is anxiously waiting for her husband Carl to return home from work, he's never been late and she is unable to contact him. The next part of the story goes back 20 years and involves brother and sister Kirsty and Gray.
How these people interlink becomes clear as the story progresses, I thought I had it all worked out then all kinds of revelations kept popping up.
So well written, suspenseful and thrilling...a thoroughly wonderful read.

This is a book about people desperate to be loved. Alice single mother of three finds a man sitting on the beach in the rain. He doesn't wear a jacket and he doesn't know what his name is. Alice invites him into her life despite her better judgement.
While Alice and her children try and help "Frank" as they have named him. They encounter a story from 23 years ago of three teenagers that walked out into the ocean and were never seen again.
Lily newly married, finds herself alone when her husband of only two weeks doesn't come home. He's not answering his phone and after a visit to the police to report him missing she is told that he never existed.
The story alternates between the three sets of charachters, Alice, Lily and Grey one of the lost teenagers.
This story twists and turns eventually merging together beautifully for a fantastic ending.
There are parts of the story that are overall quite dark but the style of writing keeps the feeling of the book quite light, even in the dark parts. The characters were well thought out and engaging.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Another five star book for Lisa Jewell.

As a long time Lisa Jewell fan I would recommend any of her books and this one is no exception. As usual the author has produced a lovely set of very believable characters and has twisted them into a set of intriguing story lines. A gripping mystery story which was hard to put down. A book to lose yourself in and enjoy.

On a dark night,Alice finds a man outside her house who doesn't remember even his name. The slow burning story moves from there hooking the reader deeper and deeper in the story as it goes.The story line was puzzling, intriguing and captivating all at the same time with a masterfully structured and strongly built plot and character driven theme with a vivid, imaginative description and a gripping prose equipped with a dry humor that prevents the book from becoming entirely dark in nature. I loved it. A definite 5 stars read.

Alice Lake is an artist and single mother living a quiet and largely uneventful life when she discovers a man on a local beach. 'Frank' appears to have lost his memory and Alice takes him in and attempts to help. Meanwhile, Lily's husband has gone missing. She's a newlywed who has just arrived in the country but is determined to find out what's happened to him.

It's been a while since I've read a Lisa Jewell novel but I have always enjoyed them. This is written with the same engaging tone as Ralph's Party, Vince and Joy,and the like, but the subject matter is slightly darker. As I was expecting, I really enjoyed this book and spending time with fully rounded and recognisable characters. Recommended.

Alice is a single mother of three, living in a small cottage overlooking the beach at Ridinghouse Bay. She ekes out a living making pictures from old maps and by renting out the summerhouse at the end of her garden. She is working on a picture when she looks out of her window and sees a man sitting on the beach in the pouring rain; she realises that she saw him earlier and he has been there all day.

Alice may be disorganised, but she has a big heart, and gathering up her motley selection of dogs, and an old coat left by a previous lodger she heads outside and to the rescue.

After arriving late at school to pick up her youngest, Romaine, she returns home to find that the man is still there. Having seen to the children and the dogs she heads out to him with a flask, rather annoyed that he hasn't had the sense to get inside. It seems he has nowhere to go having lost his memory and has no idea who he is, or how he got to Ridinghouse. Being Alice, she can't leave him there and so takes him back to the cottage.

At the same time a newly married young girl, Lily, in London is fretting over her husband who has gone missing.

Meanwhile, back in 1993 a family holidaying in the bay have a series of worrying events around a young man called Mark.

So, all the pieces are in place for a gripping thriller with several interwoven plots and masses of suspense and misdirection. Trust me, any assumptions you make early on will fall by the wayside later as this dark mystery progresses.

Lisa Jewell has a gift for making her characters real and for situating them in the most ordinary surroundings. This makes her eminently readable and the pages fly by at breakneck speed as the reader seeks answers but is only served more questions.

This is a really engrossing and enjoyable read which manages to be dark and sinister yet with an underlying warmth. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is my second book written by Lisa Jewell. I liked “The Girls in the Garden” very much and I was very keen to read another book from her. I like her writing style. Her books are easy to read and well-constructed.

“I Found You” is a character driven book. The story is broken up into three different POV and the story begins to unfold slowly. There are some twists and you can see that the stories are overlapping and connected. The story is really complex but the excellent written characters give life to the whole thing.

This book is not really a thriller. There is suspense, a lot. I really wanted to know what happened and how it was all connected. There is a lot of background to the characters, a lot of talking and it took some time until you can see where all this is heading to. The pace was a bit slow but it was far from boring. It was quite the contrary.

Lisa Jewell managed somehow to make this tragic story an easy and enjoyable read. It is almost a “Cosy Crime”. I you don’t like very drastic thrillers and are in no need for a lot of cliffhangers you will find this to be the right book for you. I enjoyed reading it and finished it in only 2 sittings.

With reading this book I just found that the writing just didn't capture my attention and that isbobe of my key focuses when I read a book.

The characters I didn't really relate to and found myself rereading pages because I glanced over something that could be important.

All together it was an okay book for me.

A great read. Interesting characters with different stories which all come together at the end. I loved it.

I Found You by Lisa Jewell was one of the most originally written novels I have read this year; a slow burning mystery and then a fast race to the finish, Jewell had me captivated with her complex characters and her smart prose.
The novel surrounds three seemingly disconnected storylines. One following a man with amnesia who stumbles upon a family in a beach house; the woman of the house feels bad and takes him in as a houseguest. The second story follows a newlywed who is devastated when her husband goes missing. The third is set in 1993 and follows the relationship between two siblings and their childhood friend. Not knowing if these stories would begin to intersect, I hungrily devoured each page.
This one was not hard to get through in a single afternoon. As mentioned, Jewell’s prose is completely captivating. This will not be a roller-coaster ride thriller, instead, this one is a slow burn of a story and, as the story unravels and secrets begin to be stated, the pace quickens to an unbelievable finish!
My favourite storyline followed the newlywed, Lily, and her desperation to find her husband Carl. I found her character extremely likeable and her naivety endearing. I also found her character development the most complex.
Overall, if you want a thriller that will keep you guessing without causing you to race through your reading, this one will be your winner! Slow and steady wins the race and Jewell proves that with I Found You.

This was my first book by British author Lisa Jewell. I enjoyed it so much, I've decided I need to check out her previous ones that I've missed.
I Found You gradually converges three intriguing and puzzling storylines:
Single Mum, Alice, finds a man in a fugue state on the beach near her house in East Yorkshire and decides to offer him a place to stay until they can figure out who he is.
Meanwhile, in London, newly-wed Lily, who is originally from the Ukraine, reports her husband, Carl, missing. He disappeared on his way home from work.
The third storyline goes back twenty odd years to 1993 when the Ross family spent their annual holiday at Ridinghouse Bay where teenagers Kristy and Graham meet 19-year-old Mark who is spending the summer with his Aunt, Kitty.
I was fully engaged in this from start to finish. The style was to the point, the dialogue realistic and most of the characters were likable. Alice, in particular, with her rather unconventional household and her plain-speaking ways, was an appealing character. I had different theories how the puzzle would slot together as the story progressed and was still proved wrong in the end. While there were certainly moments where I couldn't help wondering whether people would really act in the way these characters did, it didn't stop me from enjoying this story. It was a nice combination of family drama, mystery, suspense and romance.
