We really wanted to read and review this title but it would not download. This is a favorite series of my kids and we own all of them!

I thought I would really love this, I love the smurf movies. But sadly I did not. It's a short comic but this took me forever to read. It was so borning and forgetable.

Unfortunately I didn't have the chance (time) to read this

This graphic novel have given me so many feels. Aaaah, I'm so in love with smurfs. When I was kid I knew all the episodes of the tv serie! So, like I have loved the tv serie, I loved this graphic novel.
I reccomend you it!

This book reminded me of my childhood when I watched the cartoon on TV. A cute, fun, book I would highly recommend for The Smurfs fans, whether they are children or adults.

'The Smurfs: The Village Behind the Wall' by Peyo tells some new stories about a new group of Smurfs.
Most of the original Smurfs are male Smurfs. This book introduces a whole village of female Smurfs. After getting some bios of the new Smurfs (Smurfstorm, Smurfblossom, etc.), we get a series of short stories, including how Brainy Smurf finds this new village. These Smurfs camouflage themselves with leaves and seem to be threatened by the things in the forest around them. Giant (to Smurfs) carnivorous plants, etc.
The original creator of The Smurfs, Peyo, is no longer with us, but I appreciate that he is still honored here. Also included is an excerpt from the original story that introduced the Smurfs back in 1958. That was a fun thing to have here. I'm not the biggest Smurf fan on the planet, but I enjoyed reading these stories.
I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Papercutz and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

This is a fun graphic novel. The stories that are featured in this novel had adventure, action, intrigue, bravery all taken place in a new world. I thought this novel was a nice introduction to the new girl smurfs and the new movie. After reading this novel, I am looking forward to watching the movie. I love the smurfs. The new girls are like Amazons. They are strong and not really afraid of anything. I did feel bad for Brainy in the first story. He really had quite the adventure. My only issue was that as much as it might have been cute that the girl smurfs kept using the words "smurf", "smurfing" or any other form of the word "smurf" was ok the first couple of times but it grew a little annoying after a dozen + times. Although, as I stated, this novel is a read that children and adults alike will enjoy.

A collection of shorts stories featuring the usual guys and one gal finding a new group of blue girls, apparently as an introduction to the new movie coming out soon! (said in announcer voice).
All the new Smurfs get a full page intro—awesome.
The new gals are terrific dancers, and good at curing the aches and pains afterward. “Hanging out with girls looks smurfly exhausting.” If you only knew, bro. . . so much for being the smart one.
Hefty is, as always, easily manipulated. “Why do I have the impression that’s exactly what she wanted?” Because you’ve never talked to a girl before, dude?
A kissing flower gets slapped for being forward. Almost feel sorry for it, considering how sad it’s drawn.
I hate it when the character is narrating what’s obviously happening, as occurred in one of the last stories. At least make it an inner monologue.
A few pages at the end tell how the Smurfs first appeared, with the humans in the story pretty much asking the same questions I did.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

A classic Smurfs tale with a little twist of new characters. Funny and the new characters are likeable. I'd like to hear from them.

I'm in nostalgia heaven! I grew up with the Smurfs. With the new movies, and now graphic novels, I can share my childhood passion with my cubs. Some of them get it. Others think ma is a little off her rocker, but that's okay, cause Smurfs! I was beyond delighted to get the original cartoons on Amazon Instant View. Smurfs: The Village Behind the Wall is a collection of shorts, much like the show itself was. There are five altogether, along with a neat history lesson on the Smurfs. I had no idea they were originally support characters in a story focused on Johan and Peewit. My, my, how the tables turned!
The Smurfs have met their match in the residents of Smurfy Grove. This little village seems to be where all the female Smurfs live, lead by Willow, a wise, older smurf like Papa Smurf. These girls are full of energy!
Brainy’s Bad Day- the girls take Brainy for a walk he will never forget
Challenges for Hefty- Hefty gets competitive with Smurfstorm, and they face a terrifying rafflesia.
Clumsy Smurf’s Dragonfly- a rescue adventure earns Clumsy Smurf a new best friend.
The Squash Smurfs- a thief in the night keeps wrecking the squash garden. A trap is set to catch the culprit red-handed. Fun with bees ensues.
A Smurflily Strange World- Smurflily's story about how she first came to cross the wall.
I just love that Smurfy Grove is all female, and led by an elder female. The 80s teased with the notion of female Smurfs. There was Sassette, and Grandma Smurf. One must wonder. There had to be more than just Papa’s group out there.
🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻 Highly recommended to introduce Smurfs to a younger generation, or if you grew up a fan of the original comics/animated show.

I really like what Papercutz has done with the Peyo Smurf books. These books remind me of childhood and the Smurfs I grew up with. The modern smurfs just look too funny and have too much adult humor. In the newest graphic novel we meet the villagers over the wall. A land of female Smurfs with Blue Hair. We grew up with only one female smurf: Smurfette, but now there is an entire land of them. They have ways that are different and live in a much more magical land where plants try to eat you, and they can ride dragonflies. I like this series and am glad it has had a strong long run.

fantastic book. brought back so many childhood memories for me. and my girls loved me showing them this book

Finally Smurfette is not the only girl Smurf in the world! These comics are a great addition to the Smurf world we all know and love not to mention will make a great addition to the upcoming movie.
The first thing that obviously grabs your attention is the graphics which are vibrant, beautiful and eye catching. The pictures accurately depict not only the storyline but the essence of who the Smurfs are as characters that have been enjoyed for decades.
The story line makes sense and it’s fun to see the new adventures the Smurfs find themselves involved in now that their world has gotten a little bigger. Even though they have found new Smurfs who lead a little bit different life than the ‘originals’ the essence of what was created all those years ago hasn’t changed making this still a fun, family friendly way to pass the time.
The only irritating thing in the story was the constant use of the word ‘smurf’ as a verb, noun, adjective, whatever but that kind of goes with the characters. Aside from the overabundance of the word ‘smurf’ used, the dialogue thankfully makes sense overall, reads very conversationalist, and seems true to the characters.
Have to admit as a woman I’m really happy to FINALLY see some more female characters and these women are badass. No more female stereotypes, instead we get some powerful girls who show they are equal to the task of being SMURFTASTIC! (come on, you didn’t see that coming? Lol)

I love the Smurfs! This was a really cute comic of the Smurfs finding another village of all girl Smurfs and some of the adventures they go on. Cute and short read. Definitely recommend for kids and adults alike, especially if you like the Smurfs. I received an advance copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
