Overall Opinion: 4 stars

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is a standalone in the Tear Asunder Series. Killian “Kite” and Savvy’s story. These two met briefly in high school but made a quick and lasting impression on each other. Fast forward 11 years and Savvy has come back into Killian’s life, asking for a favor.

POV: Dual POV

Overall Pace of Story: Very quick, almost too much so. I almost felt that more detail could’ve been given.

Instalove: Yes

H rating: I loved his possessiveness with Savvy. The issue with Savvy dancing was a little confusing. He didn’t want her to, obviously because he was being Alpha, but then he did let her do it in the end. I guess this was his way to compromise. The idea of the fake relationship was a little disappointing to me.
h rating: I liked Savvy and felt bad for her. She had a hard life and you could feel her struggle. Again, parts of her story I felt were skipped over and could’ve added more to the overall story.

Push/Pull: Yes, especially over the fake relationship/dancing issue.

Heat level: Hot!

Descriptive sex: There was a bit of BDSM involved here, but again the reasons, etc. weren’t really addressed. They described it as “kink”. I thought it added another layer to story and it fit in well.

Satisfying ending? YES!! My favorite part was the epilogue. Definitely what I was hoping for!

How I got it: ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley. Thank you!

This time it’s Kite’s story from the band Tear Asunder and it left me emotionally exhausted. Killian was the school’s bad boy but was always there trying to help the underdog. He also had his eyes on a pretty red headed dancer who kept to herself quite a bit. They would share looks but neither approached the other; Savvy because she was afraid of this tough guy and Killian because he figured he was bad news for her. They shared one kiss before Savvy was off to various foster homes which was one kiss she never forgot. As they lost touch and the years went on Savvy became a dance instructor and Kite made it big time as the drummer for the band Tear Asunder.

Savvy was getting desperate; she needed a job and bad. She had just left her cheating boyfriend who happened to be her boss as well. So there went her job and her home which gave her no choice but to try to get back stage at a Tear Asunder concert to see if Kite would even remember her and if he did would he put a good word in for her to land a good paying job as a dancer at one of his friend’s dance clubs. Just like old times their eyes found each other after 11 years and that spark was still there. Imagine Savvy’s surprise when Kite told Savvy that there wasn’t any way he would help her land this job. He didn’t tell her but no way had he wanted her dancing in some cage at a club with men learning at her.

Their journey was one of finding a way back to each other and this time acting on the feelings they each had. This couple had a lot of obstacles in their way and you were kept wondering just what would it take for them to have their HEA. The heartache they both had from the families which they came from tainted them and the possibility of true love finding a way to the forefront.

I have become a huge fan of Nashoda Rose and this series and I haven’t been let down yet. She takes you to some dark places but there is always that hope that keeps you locked in the world she created with the guys from Tear Asunder.

I received this book as an ARC for a freely give honest review.

Savvy and Kite! Been waiting for his story for what seems like forever and it didn't disappoint. This can be read as a stand alone but you'd be missing out on an awesome series so I recommend reading them all to get a feel for even the secondary characters. I enjoyed Savvy and Kite. They had an awesome chemistry that I felt all the way down to my bones. Literally gave me all sorts of feels. I can't wait for what's next!

4 emotionally intense, super-hot stars!

The fourth book in the Tear Assunder series brings us the story of drummer Killian ‘Kite’ Kane. As I have come to expect from this author’s writing, this is a deeply emotional book featuring two characters who have been through so much but who completely fall for each other despite their heartache. The love story is gorgeous, an almost-second-chance romance that was both beautifully sweet and sinfully sexy, and perfect for the characters. I was hooked from start to finish, and I absolutely loved it!

Note : Of course there are ties to the other books in the series, however you could read this one as a standalone – know that there will be backstory that you are missing out on, but it’s backstory relating to other characters, not Kite or Savvy.

Killian and Savannah ‘Savvy’ met in high school - she as the sweet-hearted good girl, and he as the broody bad boy. Though their actual encounters were brief, they were profound and they each left a mark on the other that would prove impossible to shift, even after Savvy is forced to leave town.

“I’m glad you’re leaving town.”
I stiffened raising my chin. “Why?”
“Because if you come near me again, next time I won’t let you go.”

Eleven years later and Savvy is about to hit rock bottom. She turns to Killian for help, and though he is initially brush and standoffish, you can see the protectiveness that drives his actions. He has always been a protector, and he wants to protect Savvy more than most, and when her determination to defy him has them butting heads, the sizzling chemistry between them only intensities and Killian sees his opportunity for the second-chance he never got, and he is determined to take it.

Cupping my chin, he tilted my head so our eyes met. “You were always meant to be mine, Savvy.”

I loved this story! Kite has always been a bit of a mysterious character. It’s been hinted that he’s a fan of kink and a bit of a manwhore, so seeing him open up to Savvy and devote himself to her from the very beginning was so gorgeous! I could feel the connection between them and the progression of everything between them was easy and natural, and I loved watching them give in to the inevitable and follow their hearts.

“I don’t want to define this, Savvy. I just want you.”

Killian stole my heart. There’s just something about a broken, brooding bad boy that gets to me (especially when there’s a heartwrenching backstory that made him that way), and the vulnerability and sweetness that he showed to Savvy was gorgeous. And then there’s the fact that he’s a filthy bastard with a dirty, dirty mouth who is hot as all hell in the bedroom, dauym! Savvy is just as fantastic - smart and determined with a huge heart, she is the kind of person who sees the good in everybody, and the way she allowed Killian into her life and accepted him so unreservedly was beautiful to see. And together they are magic. There is no game playing or stupid behaviour – they are honest, open and affectionate, and the blend of sweet, hot and swoony is gorgeous!

“Never wanted anyone else. Never … You’re all I ever needed.”

But Killian is still battling with the very real demons of his past. He has been hurt and broken, and he would do anything to protect Savvy from the evil that has plagued him. There are hurdles that they need to overcome – both real and emotional – and their journey to do just that is heartbreaking yet beautiful.

“Never a day will go by that I won’t love you. And never will there be a hint of uncertainty that you belong anywhere else but right here.”

*dreamy sigh*

All of the boys from the band are a part of the story, of course, and I loved catching up with them and their girls, and I loved the introduction of Savvy’s friend, Trevor, who will be the hero of the next book.

I loved this book. It’s emotional, sweet and sexy and the romance is intense, and I was completely captivated by Killian and Savvy’s story.

4 stars.

Killian Kane aka “Kite” is finally here and he’s more than ready to use his Irish brogue to charm readers into submission.

I knew Kite’s story would pull on my heartstrings but I still wasn’t prepared for the emotional turbulence that came with Kept From You. We know Kite as the mysterious drummer from Tear Asunder and as you read this book you, quickly come to realise that his life is a lot more troubled than we could ever have expected.

Kite’s story starts at school and with a girl who makes him question who he is. Savvy is the type of girl who sees only the good in everyone, especially the angry teenager, Kite. After Sculpt asks her to help at an underground fight, Savvy finds herself drawn to Kite and his brooding ways. Despite Kite’s initial resistance, he too is finding it difficult to keep away from Savvy but despite his attraction to her, he can only allow himself to watch her from a distance.

Years later and Savvy scams her way into a Tear Asunder gig with a forged backstage pass. With her life in tatters thanks to her ex, she needs Kite’s help in order to secure a job as a dancer at Brett’s club, Compass. When Kite realizes who she is, though, and more importantly what she wants from him, he quickly stops her in her tracks. Knowing that he couldn't bear to witness other men watching her dance, he thinks that will be the last time he sees her but with her unrivaled determination, Savvy s won’t be stopped from getting what she wants. After hijacking a dance cage at Compass, she finally manages to get a job but it comes at a price, and that’s the wrath of Kite.

Despite trying his damnedest to distance himself from Savvy, everyone close to Kite quickly comes to realise that Savvy may just be the girl to save him from himself, and more importantly, his tragic past. He soon finds, however, that Savvy may be the most infuriating woman he has ever met and despite trying to improve her life, Savvy is keen to keep her independence.

I loved the interaction between Savvy and Kite. Savvy is quiet yet fierce in her single-mindedness when it comes to her dancing and her feelings for Kite, and yet Kite, despite having been in love with her his whole life, still feels that he is not good enough for her. As is always the case with this series, when Kite and Savvy do start spending time together, and Kite’s wounds start healing, there is always someone ready to break the lovers apart.

Kite’s story is told over three timeframes. Starting from the time Kite and Savvy spend together at school up to the present day, we also get to witness Kite as a young lad living in Ireland with his family. It was the story portrayed whilst in Ireland which packed the most emotion as we get to see who has caused Kite to become the broken man that he is today. At first, I wondered in the necessity to add this additional timeframe to the story but as you read on, it all becomes painfully clear.

It looks like the next story is going to focus on the loveable rogue, Trevor. Trevor is Savvy’s neighbour and a total man whore but when it comes to Savvy, he clearly demonstrates in this book that he will go to the ends of the earth to protect her. I can’t wait!

AMAZING! THIS SERIES JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER!

So, I think I found my new book boyfriend, Killian Kane (Kite, drummer of Tear Asunder)......wow, just wow....so broken and guilt stricken, but also badass and sexy, strong and intimidating. His protectiveness of Savvy (Savannah) was fierce and electric!

They're story actually began in high school, where Killian was feared and known to protect the kids picked on by bullies. Besides that, he pretty much kept to himself. He was fighting the monsters inside him, while at the same time taking part in underground fights to release his pent up anger. This is also where he met Logan and they became best friends and obviously, they eventually became a part of Tear Asunder. Killian and Savvy didn't interact much but the few times they did, there were sparks and Killian totally had me, hook, line and sinker! They are separated by unforeseen circumstances.....

For eleven years!!!!l Yep too long. Tear Asunder is famous and Savvy needs a favor. She sneaks backstage into one of his concerts hoping to find Killian.......and, I'll stop there. You have to read it.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! It is the perfect mix of everything, everything for me! This series has and will remain an absolute favorite of mine!

Looking forward to Trevor's story!

P.S. I need to mention the hot sex scenes, and I mean smoking hot, smoking HOT!

Kept From You is the fourth book in the Tear Asunder series, but it can be read as a standalone. Although it’s part of the Tear Asunder series, it’s less dark and angsty than some of the other books in the series. I love Nashoda Rose’s books, really I do, but sometimes I can do without the dark, angsty stuff. That’s not to say that Kept From You is all roses and butterflies. It’s not. Not at all. It’s most definitely a suspense story with scary stuff happening, but it’s not the deep dark stuff that makes you wonder what’s happened to humanity in general.

I loved Savvy and Killian. Savvy hasn’t had it easy, but she’s still an absolutely lovely person with a backbone, although her backbone needs a bit of extra reinforcement from time to time. I did think that her backstory was overshadowed by Killian’s horrendous childhood. Granted, his youth was way worse, but Savvy’s wasn’t exactly a bed or roses either. And what’s not to like about Killian? Okay, he’s a man and suffers from that infamous disease known by all readers as she-would-be-better-off-without-me-itis. *Sigh* But this is where you really fall in love with Savvy, because that girl is not giving up. She’s going for what she wants and not taking no for an answer. You go girl!

Kept from You is a great addition to the Tear Asunder series. We get to see the characters from the earlier books as well as the spin-off Unyielding series. Even if you haven’t read any of the earlier books, if you love a good romance with deep characters and suspense, pick this one up. You won’t be disappointed.

I cannot believe I have never read this author before. Nashoda Rose has a talent I don't see very often in romance novels these days - she creates heroes that are real, that are gripping and tortured, yet gentle and protective. She could easily have made this into an erotic novel. In fact, that's what I was expecting, frankly, given other books I have read that run with a similar theme. But she did something quite extraordinary. She created a story that was steamy in its passion and also deeply engaging in its portrayal of a love that surpasses all obstacles.

Killian Kane is dangerous. Everyone knows it, including Savannah Grady. After she gains his attention in school, he becomes her protector, trying to keep her safe in a world he knows is anything but. When tragedy strikes, Savvy is sent away, and Killian doesn't see her again for eleven years, until she comes to him asking for a favor. That favor leads to more than either could have dreamed possible, including a love neither believed could happen between them.

I liked that it wasn't all about the sex. I was worried that it would be, given the many mentions of Killian's kink, but the author really allowed me to experience his relationship with Savvy that went beyond the sex. We got to see the raw emotion and amazing love they had for each other, which was more powerful for me than any sex scene. Was it a clean romance? No way. But it slowly built into one of the best love stories I have read in a long time. This was pure genius. I feel like I should go buy a bunch of copies and then throw them at people on the street. This book represents the type of survival, renewal, and love that will resonate with everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from.

Absolutely floored by this book. Five beautiful stars.

I am seriously in love with this series and I have been waiting (not so patiently) for Kite's story.

This is the fourth book in the series and I think it could be read as a stand alone. Why anyone would actually want to do that, is beyond me though, because all the books in this series are awesome. So my advice...start at the beginning ;)

Kite (Killian) is the the drummer for the famous band "Tear Asunder". In the previous books, he always came across as kind of a badass, who was into kinky sex like BDSM. Things aren't always as they seem though....

This book starts with Kite and Savvy still in high school getting to know each other. They both have a hard time growing up. Kite especially is very angry and he has a right to be. He might be a bad boy with a bad boy attitude, but he tries to use his anger for good. That means fighting bullies and drug suppliers. Still...everyone knows not to mess with Kite. Savvy (15) is the kind of person that sees the good inside everyone, expecially in bad boy Kite. She might be a bit scared, but she can't help but feel drawn to him.

These two form a strong bond, however short their the time they spend together is. A bond that is sealed with a kiss, when circumstances force them to say goodbye

Fast forward 11 years and they come face to face once again, this time because Savvy has run out of options and she needs a favor....

They never got over that magical kiss and this time, Kite won't let her go...

I don't want to go into the plot any deeper than this. Ofcourse there is much much more, but that would spoiler the story and like all the books in this series....this one should be read without spoilers. I will tell you however, that Kite is quite the dirty talker. I had to fan myself more than once ;)

I really enjoyed Kite and Savvy's story. She was so sweet and forgiving, while he was also so sweet, yet still angry. I think they were the perfect ying and yang. I am not gonna lie though. Haven and Crisis (book 3) are still my absolute favorite couple in this series. I would also suggest everyone to read the "Unyielding" series, which is a spinn off of this series !! Can't wait for the next book in this series....which will be Trevor's !!!

Kept from You is Killian Kane's, aka Kite's, story and follows him as a girl from his past comes back into his life. He and Savvy went to High School together for a very short time before she left, and in that time he watched her, wanted her, and warned her to stay away from him right after kissing her. But now it's eleven years later and she's desperate enough for a job to not heed his warning.

Nashoda Rose's writing continues to blow me away and I don't think I will ever get enough of her stories. This is just yet another book from her that I went into expecting something great and that's exactly what I got. Killian was an amazing character and I really enjoyed getting a small part of his past in the beginning and getting to see how different he was then. When he was younger he had a lot of anger and it's not something we've seen from in in this series so it was really intriguing to experience that side of him.

In the present he still thinks Savvy needs to stay away from him, but he's also unable to get her out of his mind after she shows up in his life again. I loved his possessiveness and how he never faltered in his need for her. It may have been eleven years since he last saw her but he never forgot the girl he wanted more than any other. His character was very enjoyable to read about and I though he was sexy as hell. It was amazing to see him caring for more than one night stands and claiming Savvy as his.

Savvy was perfect for the tough and quiet Killian, in my opinion. Where he was hardened to life and always saw the worst in people, she was bright and always thought people had at least some good in them. Together they were a great mix of personalities and also had amazing sexual chemistry. I loved the scenes with them together and I will be re-reading this book many times for that alone.

Bottom line, please please please read this book. Even if you haven't read the rest of the books I still beg you to pick this one up since it can be read as a standalone. Though, I love the other characters just as much as I loved Killian and Savvy so I hope you'll read those books too.

Finally! Killian Kane's (Kite) story. I've been wanting this Kite's story since he was first introduced. And it did not disappoint. Kept from You is an emotional, heartbreaking and read

Killian has always been a mystery. One look at him, he's intimidating and just down right scary looking. He lets go his anger by fighting--fighting the bullies. And intimidating is exactly what Savvy thought of him when they were in high school. Savvy has always been the quiet girl in school. She's had a tough home life and dancing is her passion to escape it all. But she never did escape notice when it came to Killian. He noticed the sweet, innocent and trusting girl from afar. Their short connection in high school proved to be deep and meaningful and they both won't realize that they never would forgot about each other over the years.

Jump ahead eleven years, Killian and Savvy meet again. Their lives have changed dramatically. Killian is a rock star in a very successful band, Tears Asunder. And Savvy is trying to stay afloat in life being a struggling dancer instructor. And she decides to seek out the help of her old high school friend, Killian--hoping he still remembers her.

And don't doubt that Killian forgotten his orchid, Savvy. The firey red-head still leaves him breathless. And there's nothing that will stop Killian from protecting Savvy now that she has walked back into his life.

Killian and Savvy both have dark secrets that haunts them and stops them from completely moving forward with each other. Kept from You is a fantastic read that wants you too root for these two to find their HEA. Yes, the eventually do get there, but it's not without drama, heartbreaks and learning to forgive and move on from the past. I'm excited for the next story in this series!

Four and a half
Anyone who knows me will note that I'm not a huge fan of contemporary or even rock god type books but this series is without a doubt a must read. Call it a palate cleanser , call it a walk on the dark side but whatever it is its intense, complicated , dark at times and will have you trying to work out if the author has penned a hero or an antihero?
Kept from You starts with the background of just how Kite aka Killian and Savvy became so entwined with each other. As two teenagers they both had different lives. Killian lost to an anger that consumed him and Savvy sweetly seeing the best in people. There's all the surliness you expect from a teenage boy but there's mystery and something deeper too. Oh yes Savvy is more than a little obsessed too but the author keeps you waiting for that one pivatol moment when everything changes.
Fast forward eleven years and Killian is a successful drummer but still a man who shies away from commitment . Savvy does something crazy, she seeks him out hoping that his connections will help her get out of the hole her ex dug her into! I won't lie things don't quite go according to plan but that vital thing that linked them before pulsates as the the man who is used to controlling his emotions starts to unravel . Savvy has always known there's a dangerous side to Killian but his secrets, his loss and pain are about to bring danger into her life!
Ok that was intense but actually does work as a standalone but it's such a twisting series that I'd honestly recommend reading them all. I loved the way the author made them feel real and didn't mind the profanity as the dialogue flowed so well. Savvy hasn't had the best start in life but even she had no idea what was actually going on around her and just how connected she was to the world that Killian has left behind. Then of course there's Killian, overprotective , kinky and carrying an absolutely huge secret that will knock your socks off ! Yes this bad boy rocker always knew that Savvy was it for him and emotions long buried feel raw but isn't that how you know you are alive?
These Tear Assunder guys are dynamic with a capital D! The author loves twisting her readers hearts but when she delivers romance it's time to turn off the tv, lock the door and just prepare to be swept away.
This voluntary opinion is of an advance copy I requested from Netgalley and these honest thoughts are entirely my own

Well, Kite/Killian wasn't as kinky as I wanted him to be. His dad was nasty, but not as bad as Sculpt's. Then there's that revelation...and boy does it mess Crisis up. Savvy was perfect for Killian. Loved seeing all of the band again. I hope Matt hooks up with her BFF, and that they get their own book.

Ms. Rose quit teasing me with only mentioning my book boyfriend's name (Deck) and then nothing else. Trevor's book is up next here's hoping for an actually sighting or two.

What a great read! I loved the entire series and this one is another Nashoda hit out of the park. I thought she couldn't write another I'd like better than Perfect Rage, but I believe this surpassed even that book. It has all the feels you want and more. Loved Killian and Savvy....this book was definitely worth waiting for!

I should preface this by saying I did NOT do a reread of this series before picking this book up. I was pressed for time and quite frankly just too excited...and it didn't matter that time had passed since I'd last fallen into a Tear Asunder book, I was sucked in within those first pages.

Now, Kite....y'all will love him. He's kinky, he's sweet, protective, and caring, and he's haunted, all things we love in our main men. His relationship with Savvy didn't start conventionally but rarely do they. I don't want to ruin the story for you, just pick it up. You won't be disappointed. I hope you adore Savvy and Killian as much as I did.

PS- I'm so excited to know there's more to come....squeee!
