A collection of essays that document security in Canada from the beginning of our nationhood to the end of the Cold War. I think I expected too much from this text. I thought it was going to be explosive and salacious and it just seemed like none of the researchers wanted to say a negative thing regarding any of the policies. Nor how the RCMP does its day-to-day business.

I originally requested this title on NetGalley from the University of Toronto Press But it was archived before I could download it. So I am reviewing a finished copy today.

Book received from NetGalley.

This was an interesting book on the history of RCMP spies from the late 19th century until it was disbanded after the Cold War. I enjoyed reading about it and the lengths the government went to, to keep the general public from knowing they were doing this. My only issue is that it was cut up in sections of essays that the author submitted and there were almost more notes than information on the subject. I believe that this is more of a good research book rather than a general history of the subject.
