Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I really liked the story-line and found it to be unique. I liked the characters and thought that their romance was sweet. However, I had a pretty big issue with the pacing of the story. This story started off really slow for me, so I had a hard time really getting into Landon and Zara's story. Sometimes, I don't mind a slower paced story, but for me, the slower pace just didn't work for this story. I kept waiting for it to grip me, and it just never did.

Vanishing Act is my first read by this author and while it wasn't a 100% hit for me, I'd still be open to reading more from this author in the future. I think the idea of this story was great and that it had a ton of potential, I just wished the pacing had been better.

This was a quick light read. The premise was good but the book sort of just fell flat. It started off really slow and within the first couple of chapters of meeting the heroine the hero is talking about love. I usually don’t mind insta-love but it took me a while to get into the book and I couldn’t connect with the characters either. Overall, I would recommend this book if you’re looking for a light read that is low on drama and angst.

What a love story! This story was written so beautifully written by A.M. Madden. A couple who met under false pretenses, but came to love each other even through everything that was thrown at them.

The characters were so believable they came to life in this story. Their story was breathtaking. This book will make you smile and tear up. Another wonderful book by this author. Definitely needs to be on your list to read, for anyone who believes love always come through.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Net Galley

This was a great book from the first page until the last page. I was hooked from the begginning and I could not put the book down until I finished it. I loved the story of Landon/Lance and Zara. But let's face it the star of the book was Marshmellow/Spike, the little Maltese. The book was full of love, romance and family drama leading to some hard decisions, which made for a very interesting story.
I have always enjoyed any book that I have read by A. M. Madden

I'm relatively new to A.M. Madden's books but I can tell you with all certainty that she has become one of my go-to authors and I'm an automatic 1-click on new releases!

This is one of those stories just grabbed me from the first page. Landon is this big time, sexy and handsome movie star that just wants to get away from it all and "re-find" himself away from all the paparazzi that comes with being in Hollywood.

Zara on the other hand lives on this tiny island that Landon has come to so he can "vanish" from the public eye. Neither one of them were looking for or expecting to find love. And isn't that when it's supposed to happen? When you least expect it?

Watching these two fall in love was beautiful. The way Ms. Madden developed the characters and setting the scenes up with such amazing descriptions, I really felt like I was on an island in Hawaii...I could feel the cool ocean breeze and the sun beating it's rays on my back. This are two of the things that have drawn me to her books. She has the uncanny ability to make the reader actually feel like they're right there smack dab in the middle of it all.

I digress Landon and Zara have one of those sweet love stories, that I love reading about. Throw in Marshmallow and you're sure to have some laughs too. I could say more, but then I'd give something away and I NEVER do that.

This book is a definite must read and I'm so honored that I was given the opportunity to read this book prior to publication.

Ok story of a movie star (Landon Price) hiding out on a secluded Hawiaan island where he meets a young woman (Zara Jobert) and he falls in love with her. Her family has been there for many years since escaping South Africa after a horrible tragedy. Landon has also lost a twin brother. The story moves pretty slowly, too many plots that don't ever really happen and seem unnecessary. I do like the dual POV and of course the HEA. If the first 75% of the book could be reduced, the story may have been more enjoyable.

I was given a copy of this book through NetGalley, in exchange for a review.

I've read most of this authors' books and this was not one of my favorites. I had a hard time getting into it, once I did, it was OK. It's unfortunate, because I really wanted to like this one as much as all of her other books.

This book has great potential. I love reading about the famous hero and the girl from next door types. It's one of my favorite kinds of reads. This one just didn't blow me away.

I couldn't get into this book, a shame as I love the author but I'm sure others will enjoy.

A unique story about a Hollywood Star who takes a much needed break from the lime light and falls in love. And all the hoopla that comes after. Will they survive the media and stories, living in two different places? Being a romance, I imagine that they will get their happily ever after, but I wouldn't know because I lost interest around 60%. I really enjoye Marshmallow though. He was my favorite character lol Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I really wanted to like this book, but I feel A.M just made Landon/Lance to be to perfect of a guy (book boyfriend). Not only that but the infatuation of Zara's beauty was just too much. We get it she's gorgeous, but if that is all he really sees in her... Yes later she becomes the total package to him, but he still focuses on her looks. Then add in ALL the sex. It just seems physically impossible to have that much sex in such a short amount of time.

I think my favorite thing about this story was the dog Spike/Marshmallow. I have to agree with Landon/Lance on this Spike should be his name.

Slow build up to a slow burn. Movie star tries to hide out for a few falls in love with Island girl. The best part of the whole book is Spike aka Marshmallow you will fall in love with him more than the main characters. Landon while in hiding in Hawaii . Now going by Lance is found by a puffy white dog who shows up at his bungalow. On an outing to find the owner he bonds with the dog he calls spike. A woman yelling marshmallow sends spike into a yipping fit and Landon cant believe the woman before him simply beautiful and far from Hollywood. When she doesn't recognize who he is. He makes it his mission to make her see him before he tells her who he really is.. The story turns when people find out who he is and Zara finds her life will never be the same. Can she handle the fame , the rumors being in the lime light all the time. Sheltered Island and Movie Star world wind romance

I feel awful about this one. I liked the storyline but unfortunately, I didn't like either of the characters. Having failed to make a connection with them I struggled to just finish the book.

**I received a copy of Vanishing Act from Random House- Loveswept and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Vanishing Act by A. M. Madden is a wonderful book that shows you the reader that she has a gift of writing that grabs you from the very first word to the very last.

What if you were famous, known around the world for your successes and your entire life is an open book? Wouldn't you want to disappear for awhile where no one knew you? Landon Price has everything he needs except his twin who passes away suddenly. So he tells his agent to clear his schedule and leaves on a well deserved vacation. But when a little dog suddenly arrives on his porch the next morning little does he know that "Spike" the dog belongs to the most beautiful girl in the Hawaiian islands. To have a dog play matchmaker give Vanishing Act some of its best story lines and the side story of her Zara's parents will give you the insight of what it took for them to become the couple they are today.

Zara Jobert wants more out of life than what she has on Lanai but when she meets handsome "Lance" while searching for her dog Marshmallow who has disappeared. She is surprised to find out that he wants to discover everything about her and her goals of being a photographer someday. But his secret real life is exposed on a visit to her sister's, will she accept his explanation or will it take everything they have so far and end it right now? Can she embrace the life he has as an actor or will it be more than she can handle?

I swear the dog makes the whole book but I also know that both Landon and Zara's parents share a loss of a child and will show them that they can heal their broken hearts with a little bit of love.

This is a new author for me and while it was a sweet love story- it was a bit slow. I am not sure if all of her books are like this and I would be willing to give her another chance.
Unfortunately this one didn't work for me.

A burnt out actor, Landon, escapes Hollywood and finds himself while hiding out in paradise. Zara leads a quiet life on a beautiful Hawaiian island under the watchful eye of her overprotective father. When Zara's matchmaking dog stumbles across Landon, sparks begin to fly. Can a relationship started with lies survive once the house of cards start falling? Readers will be eager to find out! Definitely recommend.

I've said before I think I could enjoy reading this author's grocery list, and this book was yet another in her string of delightful books. Of course she easily hits the prerequisites for any truly enjoyable book: a good story, well crafted characters, believable dialogue, and pacing that keeps the reader turning the pages and wondering what's around the next corner.
And this book showcases the thing I appreciate most about her books - a male primary character who is interesting while being a nice, normal guy. No demons (could we please never use that word again), no bad behavior that needs to be forgiven. Just a well reared (and we meet his mother so we know why), normal, guy dealing with the problems fame brings in the best way he can. Throughout the book Landon reliably considers the impact of his actions on those he cares about. There were many points in the book when the opportunity for him to screw up presented itself, and he chose the more honorable path. Awesome!
Unfortunately, for about the first third of the book I just couldn't get what there was about Zara, our heroine, that captivated him. Its a romance novel, so I'll buy the insta-love. But all I could figure was she was beautiful, had dimples and a killer South African accent, and was young and sheltered so she didn't know who he was. She seemed sort of - uninteresting, With all the women the book suggests he had been exposed to, it was hard to understand why he almost immediately decided she was the one. But she grew throughout the last half of the book, and she became more like the characters I've come to expect from this author.
Tahe thing I liked the best about this book, I think, was that they didn't create unnecessary problems by doing the usual stupid stuff you generally find in romance novels. There were no traumas based on miscommunication. When Zara saw things online about his past relationships she, amazingly, asked him about them. And believed him when he explained them. He understood her family situation, and didn't selfishly press her to accommodate him when she needed time to work things out.
When I reached the end of this book I smiled. It was an interesting tale about two people working their way through a relationship, and doing it in a mature and uncrazy way. It was refreshingly low on unnecessary angst. Hallelujah!
