I have to say that there were parts I loved about this story especially the last 3/4 of the book. The first 25% though I found inconsistent to the point where I almost stopped reading it. I am glad though I stuck it out because in the end what I found that drove me crazy changed and it is a fun rom-com.

Austin Rogers didn't want to fall in love or even a relationship especially after seeing what her parents go through. When her best friend falls for the biggest cheat in Seattle Austin is drawn to his best friend Thatcher a player in his own right. A player who a month into their relationship Austin found kissing another girl and then dumped her with no explanation. Now Austin wants to get even and will use every means possible to do so - even Thatchers best friend and every secret she can find.

Thatcher a renowned plastic surgeon has trust issues - stemming back to his own upbringing. So when the sexy Austin enters his life he wasnt expecting her and what he feels for her. But when Thatcher finds out the worse possible secret that will devastate Austin he does the only thing he thinks he can - sets her up for the biggest heartbreak. Now Austin needs him to help her graduate can he keep this secret and his true feelings at bay or will he have to break her heart all over again.

The beginning of the story and the steps that Austin takes to get her revenge on Thatcher was a little much to take. What I appreciated though is that Ms. Van Dyken doesn't play the whole book down that path (which I was worried about) and shifted gears and really started to play both Thatcher and Austin together and trying to not succumb to their feelings. Thatcher because he has a secret and Austin because she is hurt. Then the story starts to get interesting and the characters started to grow on me - especially Austin. When Austin does the unexpected I knew I loved her and the story. I am really glad I stuck the book out. As per usual Ms. Van Dyken's writing is fantastic especially the scenes of Thatcher as a plastic surgeon. We also get to see Avery and Lucas since the play such a big part of Thatcher and Austin's story again which I loved. The dialog was charming and well done between all the characters which I also love.

All in all, I do recommend this book.

How do I love Rachel Van Dyken, let me count the ways. Sorry, but none of us have time for me to sit and list all the reasons that I love this author. She is an automatic one-click for me and has been for awhile.

One thing I have always loved about this author’s books is that they’re fast-paced and funny. Even when something sad is happening, there are moments of humor. This story is no different.

Austin and Thatch were hooking up before she caught him kissing someone else. (If you read “Cheater”, then you’ll have caught that scene in Avery and Lucas’ story; also, you don’t need to read “Cheater” to enjoy “Cheater’s Regret”). Austin is wallowing in her sorrow, and also her absolute heartbreak. If I thought Austin was real, I was ready to run and comfort her. My heart broke for her.

Thatch is a really complex character. One minute, I loved him. The next, I wanted to get revenge on him. Then I loved him. And back and forth. It was just crazy how yanked all over the place I felt. I personally loved that feeling because, as a reader, it helped me relate to Austin on a much deeper level. You could understand why she needed to let Thatch go, but yet, couldn’t.

Another factor that I really loved was seeing how others treated Austin. I know this might seem minor to other readers, but when I read “Cheater” and this book, I pictured Austin as this stunning beauty. And I think she is. But when we see her deal with insecurities and others putting her down, or only being interested in her due to who her father is (the mayor), you really start to see why Thatch is so special in how he treats Austin.

I really loved this book. It took me high and low and I’d do it all over again.

Haha! I really enjoyed Thatch and Austin's story! These two were something else. They had me laughing out loud one moment and fanning myself the next. Between their silly revenge antics and the angst between them, I was all over the place with my emotions. Rachel Van Dyken is brilliant at writing romantic comedies and this one delivered exactly what I needed. Cheater's Regret is a light and funny, slightly emotional story. The quintessential summer read!

Rachel Van Dyken has done it again; Cheater’s Regret is non-stop laughs and brings on the feels. We first met Thatch and Austin in the first book of the series Cheater and I was so happy when I found out that Thatch and Austin would get their own story, let me tell you Cheater’s Regret did not disappoint. Rachel Van Dyken has created two power house characters in Austin and Thatch, Austin has such spunk and determination and I mean you can’t help but fall in love with Thatch. Cheater’s Regret has such a great storyline that will keep you hooked from the very first words; I could not put it down. I’m a huge fan of Rachel’s work and you will love this fun and witty romantic comedy.

Austin and Thatch... What can I say I loved the book. Austin decides to get even with Thatch for how he treated her and I love her revenge schemes they are pretty funny. Of course Thatch has his own revenge for what Austin does to him. I have to say I loved Austin through out the whole book. Thatch on the other hand frustrated me for a good portion of the book because I just couldn't understand why he was acting the way he was. Once we finally find out why I understand his reasoning more but I wish he would have gone about handling the situation another way. Of course then there would have been no book so it's probably best this way. Rachel is a great writer and just sucks you in. This is a great book that I will recommend to friends.

I loved the first book in this series but with this one I FLOVED it. It's kinda 2nd chance romance meets lovers to haters. I couldn't get enough.

I was hooked on Thatch's antics and how he was torturing himself by trying to push her away. I think Austin and him were great together and had off the charts chemistry. The story was addicting and I can't wait till the next in the series....well I hope there is another.

I am not one of those that puts "cheating" in the no go pile. I'll read any story and trust the journey the author is taking me on. As far as "cheating" goes in this series, it's like a very very light version of that for me. So if you want to dip your toes in that pool then start with this series. I love these books.

Since getting a small dosage of Austin and Thatch’s relationship in Cheater’s, I’ve been waiting to finally have the entire story of this couple. Despite the name, I found Cheater’s Regret to be a lighthearted, entertaining read. There’s a mixture of humor, emotion, and romance. I easily devoured it in one evening and felt it was the trademark RVD RomCom.

“You’re beautiful because you’re you. Don’t let a size define perfection. It’s your heart that I love the most.”

I was not a fan of Thatch for a significant portion of the book. I wanted to punch him and his absurd reasoning for hurting Austin. Despite my dislike for Thatch, I felt the complete opposite about Austin. My adoration for her made the first half of the book worthwhile. RVD always does a fantastic job writing dual POVs and allowing readers to the insights in her characters’ thought processes. I couldn’t get enough of the tension between these two.

As with all books from RVD, there is a stellar supporting cast. I enjoyed seeing Lucas and Avery again. Some of the best comedic moments from the book are the banter with Lucas and Thatch. Their over the top conversations had me grinning constantly.

“I would never Happy Potter you,”….We both took Harry Potter very seriously.

My only complaint is I wish it were longer. The ending is too fast paced, and I would have liked more details and insight into Thatch’s behavior. Overall, this is another solid book from one of my favorite authors. I’m not sure if there will be more in the books in the series but hope this isn’t the end of the Curios Liaisons world.

Austin Rogers’s dreams of domestic bliss involved watching Netflix and eating hot dogs with the love of her life. But then he cheated on her. And dumped her—as if the whole thing was her fault. To maintain her pride and restore her sanity, she decides to get revenge. It feels immensely satisfying to plot her ex’s downfall—but so does kissing him.
Thatch Holloway, a plastic surgeon straight out of residency, knows he ruined the best thing that ever happened to him. But not all cheaters are created equal. He got himself into this messed-up situation—true—but he has his reasons for what happened, and he’d do it all again to protect Austin.
He’s not over her. And she’s not over him.
Austin wants closure, but since Thatch refuses to give it to her, she takes matters into her own hands. She needs to write a human-interest piece for her MBA, so she demands the full plastic-surgery experience. Sparks fly as they’re forced to work together. But Thatch isn’t afraid to play dirty in return. And he’s still hiding something—something that has the power to destroy not only Austin but their second chance at finding forever…

This book had me from the very first page and I kept reading through the night. I loved Austin. She was a pip. How many of us have wanted to slash our exes tires? I know I have! Thatch...That man just left me shaking my head. I mean, I don't know if I would have done what he did for the reasons he did them, but in the end, it worked out. There were many moments in this book that had me laughing out loud...like hiding moon pies and Mountain Dews! There were places that broke my heart, spots that made me feel sorry for both Austin and Thatch and had me cracking up at their antics. The spider incident would have been my breaking point....I will not reveal who instigates it or who does it - but if it were me...someone wouldn't have any eyebrows after it was all said and done. I will NEVER look at the song "Hero" in quite the same way ever again. I heard it on the radio the day after reading this book and I had to pull off the road because I was laughing so hard. Some books you just have to love and read again for the fun of it...this is one of them. Some authors, you can just always count on to have that book that book to make you go...Gotta have all her books!! Rachel is one of them. My mother loves her, I love her and seriously, if mom approves - then really, all is right in the world. Buy it, read it and then write a review because authors need to hear sometimes that their work is touching others!!

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on NetGalley for an honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

This is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series and its Austin and Thatch's story. I was hooked from beginning to end. Rachel Van Dyken always knows how to tell a brilliant tale that will have you laughing out loud with some brilliantly clever twists and emotions.

Austin is Avery's best friend and Thatch is Lucas's, they are thrown together during the rollarcoaster ride of Lucas and Avery's romance. What was supposed to be a one night stand quickly evolved into so much more then either of them was expecting. Thatch has never been able to commit to any woman before he met Austin. This scares him and he makes a stupid idiotic mistake and kisses another woman in front of Austin at Avery and Lucas's fake engagement party.

Never underestimate a woman scorned! Austin embarks on a brilliant plan of revenge. With Avery's help to get Thatch's weakness out of Lucas this is simply brilliantly funny. Poor Thatch never knew what hit him.

I really loved the banter between them, the emotions coming from both of them was so real and raw. Their feelings for each other are so strong but they are both fighting them for different reasons.

I know I should hate Thatch being an idiot but I cant help but love him. He is totally Swoon-worthy.

I HIGHLY recommend this book if you are looking for a hilarious romance. Rachel is one of my favourite one-click authors.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author and Social Butterfly PR

Cheater's Regret is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series. Rachel Van Dyken never disappoints. I always know I'm going to be highly entertained to the point of crying from laughing, swooning over the sexiness and pretty much smiling the entire time. Yes, it's Cheater's Regret and yes, we know what Thatch did, but he had his reasons. And they are good. He just never knew real love and he freaked out. I forgave him for being a little stupid and not just because he's ridiculously hot! He's sincere and sweet. And, in true Rachel fashion, I laughed so hard with this couple. Thatch didn't want to end things, but he thought he was doing the right thing. Austin is trying to get over him but it's proving to be very difficult. When she needs to ask him to help her pass her class, they have to spend a lot of time together. Can you do it? Can he? Thatch is going to go crazy if he has to see her every day in her sexy, short skirts. He can't keep his thoughts off her and his hands just want to touch every inch of her. Can he convince Austin to take him back? Will they get their happily ever after? I loved this story! Thatch and Austin are so funny and sexy! I was sucked in from the very start and didn't want it to end!

"Come on, if you can rock a man bun, you can rock a Dora bike! Just find your inner explorer!"

He set down his wine, and a piece of hair fell out of his sexy-as-hell man bun, kissing his cheek. I was jealous of that strand, actually wanted to rip it from his head and stash it under my pillow and have a good cry.

Cheater's Regret is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series. It can however be read as a standalone. Now...I said this about the first book, Cheaters. Please don't judge it before you read it. You really need to know the full story before doing that. Just because the word cheater is in the title it doesn't mean one of the characters is out cheating left and right on the other. The series is truly awesome. You will laugh, feel hot and bothered, and might even cry! I know I did.

Austin just wanted to know why? Why Thatch would kiss another woman. Why the man that claim to want to be her Hero would do this to her. She gave him his chance to explain and he refused. So after eating enough moon pies to fed an Army she wanted revenge. To torture it out of him. But in the process she found that it was torturing herself as well. Still cared about him. She still wanted to kiss him. She hated that she couldn't hate him. She should, right? She should want to see the man burn for what he did. But instead she goes even deeper...shadows him for her final project to get her MBA. Who wouldn't want to follow the hottest plastic surgeon on her blog? To see what's its really like to work close to him. Will this project and time with him finally give her the closure she needs? Will she get that answer she has been seeking all along? Why?!?

Thatch hates himself for what he did to Austin. He truly cared for her. He still does and that is why he refuses to tell her the truth. It's too protect her. He had to push her away. But she came back. She is out to get me. And it just makes me want her even more. He has to stay strong. But when she is with him every day how can he think straight? Damn her and her feisty mouth and kissable lips. He needs to stay in control. But his body and heart have other plans. Will his brain get on board or will it break her heart all over again?

Wow! I loved Cheater but completely fell in love with Cheater's Regret. The angst. The humor. The heat. The emotion. The twists. Everything. It was the perfect blend of it all. The revenge had me cracking up. The heat had me all hot and bothered. And the twists surprised the fuck out of me. The emotional aspect had me wanting to hug both Thatch and Austin. I felt like I was right there with them. Watching it all go down in front of my eyes.

Overall...It kicked ass. Yes. It's about revenge. It's also about love, family, friendship, respect, trust, and moon pies. It's full of heart, laughter, heat, and finding your version of what love really means. Love isn't perfect. But, really it would be boring if it was. And Thatch and Austin are definitely not boring.

Quotes:

Trust me, he’s going to lose sleep at night and give someone a third tit.

“Come on, if you can rock a man bun, you can rock a Dora bike! Just find your inner explorer!” She just had to honk the horn.

“I’m going to rock this.” I nodded.

I was so excited for Austin and Thatch's story after Cheater and I have to say I was not disappointed and Cheater's Regret is another enjoyable read from Rachel Van Dyken.

As with Cheater, this is a book where I hope that the title does not put you off from reading. RVD doers a wonderful job of taking a character that you potentially think so unfavourable of and completely flips all your thoughts and feelings on their head so that you end up falling in love with that character.

Cheater's Regret was wonderfully humorous and often made me chuckle aloud but more than that it also had a real emotional edge to it that had me pulling for both Thatch and Austin. With great characters all round, this was a lovely fast paced romance and I would be happy to recommend it.

I adore Rachel Van Dyken and her stories. But the over the top immaturity of these characters in Cheater's Regret was just too much for me to put aside and continue to read. I found myself skimming early in the book to try to get to the "meat" of the story, but after about 25% of the way through, I gave up.

Cheater’s Regret by Rachel Van Dyken is a sexy, fast-paced romance that weaves humor, second chances, and friendship. If you have read the first book, then you are all aware that Thatch and Austin share a history. A history that is mixed with love and hurt. Hurt especially when Austin catches Thatch kissing her best friend’s older sister. So what happens when Thatch and Austin are reunited? Will these two be able to forgive and love again?

"My biggest mistake in our relationship wasn’t falling for Thatch; it was thinking that he needed me as much as I needed him.Because when I touched him—my world felt full.So how could it not feel that way for him?How could he not feel the same? So, like an idiot, I kissed him again—and sealed my fate against his mouth, knowing that his track record proved he was a cheater and that I didn’t have any part of him—even though he still held every part of me. ”

This is one of those RVD books that beautifully explores the concept of friendship and second chances. I adored the story of Thatch and Austin because RVD didn’t forget to integrate and sprinkle elements of humor and hijinks. Readers were also able to discover the reasoning for why Thatch did what he did. As much as I enjoyed Austin, I did find some of her doing was a little over the top for my taste. But overall, I loved the feel of this book. It was sweet, sexy, funny, and adorable. So if you are looking for a fast paced romance that will have you rooting for Thatch and Austin then this book is for you.

Cheater's Regret follows Austin Rogers revenge plans against her ex, Thatch Holloway. Her plans of revenge are devious and hilarious. Thatch is a plastic surgeon who has his reasons for cheating on Austin. However, they both have the same problem - neither one is over the other. As the plot unfolds, they can't resist each other but what will happen when Thatch reveals his reasons for letting her go in the first place.

So, to begin with let me just say that I am a HUGE fan of all of Rachel Van Dyken's books. Her writing is always on point, her characters fully developed and her plots are always easy to follow. This book is no different. From the secrets to the feeling within the book, I just couldn't put it down. The issues dealt with in this book are issues that women deal with daily. She did a wonderful job bringing those issues to light and I couldn't love this book any more than I do. Such a great job!!!

We first meet Thatch and Austin in Cheater and I was excited to hear that they were getting their own book. I loved the first book and with this being Rachel Van Dyken, I just knew I’d fall in love with Thatch and Austin’s story just as much as I did Lucas and Avery’s!!

Again, the whole “cheater” concept is very subjective just like it was in Cheater, but this is a story about what happens after. If you read book one, IF YOU HAVEN’T I BEG YOU TO TURN BACK NOW…….then you know that Thatch cheated on Austin by kissing Avery’s older sister. He was caught red handed and then proceeds to dump her when she decided to forgive him! Cheater’s Regret picks up with the aftermath that was their breakup. Austin is still reeling from the fact that Thatch betrayed her; Thatch is still trying to convince himself that what he did was necessary. *don’t worry..you’ll get it once you start reading* Let’s just say..these characters were in a big hot mess.

“My biggest mistake in our relationship wasn’t falling for Thatch; it was thinking that he needed me as much as I needed him.”

I connected with Austin in this book better than when I was introduced to her in Cheater. Here we see the reality of a breakup for most girls/women. It’s hard and Austin portrays this amazingly. I cried with her…I wanted to get revenge right along with her…and damn it! I spit water everywhere when she quite literally tried to kill poor Thatch!
She is defnitely the kind of girl I’d like to be besties with. *I mean…hey…we can emotional eat together*

“So, like an idiot, I kissed him again—and sealed my fate against his mouth, knowing that his track record proved he was a cheater and that I didn’t have any part of him—even though he still held every part of me.”

Thatch is whirlwind of emotion. He wants Austen, that was never in question, but his motives??? Yeah, those are quite questionable at times. I love how he took Austin in stride…his personality really fits well with hers. He’s a good guy deep down but shows his need to protect Austin in some really idiotic ways *like cheating on her and then dumping her.* Even though he was the one who broke it off, he still cares about her and eventually gets really fed up and paranoid with her trying to extract her revenge on him.

Overall, the entire story was executed flawlessly. It had the perfect amount of humor to steaminess ratio. RVD completely outdid herself with this series. I’ve loved every minute of it.

This is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series. The first book was awesome, and so is this one.

I was so excited to see this on my kindle (well, email from Netgalley first). I have loved every Rachel Van Dyken book I have read. She is a must read author for me.

At the end of Cheater, I was really hoping Austin got revenge. And boy did she. I was laughing so hard about the Dora the Explorer bike, what she made him wear. Austin got Thatch so good. I wanna be her when I grow up!

Thatch isn’t a bad guy. He did the wrong thing for a good reason. He’s a great plastic surgeon.

I can understand why he thinks the way he does. Especially after his past came out.

But Austin was so heartbroken. I love these characters so much.

★★★★
I’m going to kick this off by saying that even though Cheater’s Regret is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series it can totally be read as a standalone so don’t let that put you off!!

Cheater’s Regret is Thatch and Austin’s story and if you’ve read Cheater then you’ll know their backstory already but if you haven’t then don’t worry because it’s all covered in the first few chapters. I started Cheater’s Regret in a pretty neutral place, I didn’t really have an opinion on Thatch and Austin’s situation, mainly because when I read Cheater I was so wrapped up in Lucas and Avery that I wasn’t really paying much attention to Thatch and Austin, it didn’t take long to get on Austin’s side though and I couldn’t help but mentally high five her every step of her revenge plan ;). Cheater’s Regret is in both Thatch and Austin’s POV so you get a real good idea of what is going on from both of them, which I have to say is highly amusing sometimes because as we all know payback works both ways! I think what I like most about Thatch and Austin is that they have flaws that are very apparent, they’re relatable and in my opinion there’s nothing better than reading a book and thinking that these characters could easily be walking around in the real world.

I wasn’t for a second expecting their story to take the turn it did and I loved seeing how it all unfolded, there were plenty of moments where I hated Thatch but by the end the times I loved him outweighed the times I hated him luckily enough. I am seriously against all forms of cheating so if even I can say give Cheater’s Regret a chance then you know it must be a pretty spectacular book. Thank you for another fantastic book Rachel!
