Cheater's Regret follows Austin Rogers revenge plans against her ex, Thatch Holloway. Her plans of revenge are devious and hilarious. Thatch is a plastic surgeon who has his reasons for cheating on Austin. However, they both have the same problem - neither one is over the other. As the plot unfolds, they can't resist each other but what will happen when Thatch reveals his reasons for letting her go in the first place.
So, to begin with let me just say that I am a HUGE fan of all of Rachel Van Dyken's books. Her writing is always on point, her characters fully developed and her plots are always easy to follow. This book is no different. From the secrets to the feeling within the book, I just couldn't put it down. The issues dealt with in this book are issues that women deal with daily. She did a wonderful job bringing those issues to light and I couldn't love this book any more than I do. Such a great job!!!

We first meet Thatch and Austin in Cheater and I was excited to hear that they were getting their own book. I loved the first book and with this being Rachel Van Dyken, I just knew I’d fall in love with Thatch and Austin’s story just as much as I did Lucas and Avery’s!!
Again, the whole “cheater” concept is very subjective just like it was in Cheater, but this is a story about what happens after. If you read book one, IF YOU HAVEN’T I BEG YOU TO TURN BACK NOW…….then you know that Thatch cheated on Austin by kissing Avery’s older sister. He was caught red handed and then proceeds to dump her when she decided to forgive him! Cheater’s Regret picks up with the aftermath that was their breakup. Austin is still reeling from the fact that Thatch betrayed her; Thatch is still trying to convince himself that what he did was necessary. *don’t worry..you’ll get it once you start reading* Let’s just say..these characters were in a big hot mess.
“My biggest mistake in our relationship wasn’t falling for Thatch; it was thinking that he needed me as much as I needed him.”
I connected with Austin in this book better than when I was introduced to her in Cheater. Here we see the reality of a breakup for most girls/women. It’s hard and Austin portrays this amazingly. I cried with her…I wanted to get revenge right along with her…and damn it! I spit water everywhere when she quite literally tried to kill poor Thatch!
She is defnitely the kind of girl I’d like to be besties with. *I mean…hey…we can emotional eat together*
“So, like an idiot, I kissed him again—and sealed my fate against his mouth, knowing that his track record proved he was a cheater and that I didn’t have any part of him—even though he still held every part of me.”
Thatch is whirlwind of emotion. He wants Austen, that was never in question, but his motives??? Yeah, those are quite questionable at times. I love how he took Austin in stride…his personality really fits well with hers. He’s a good guy deep down but shows his need to protect Austin in some really idiotic ways *like cheating on her and then dumping her.* Even though he was the one who broke it off, he still cares about her and eventually gets really fed up and paranoid with her trying to extract her revenge on him.
Overall, the entire story was executed flawlessly. It had the perfect amount of humor to steaminess ratio. RVD completely outdid herself with this series. I’ve loved every minute of it.

This is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series. The first book was awesome, and so is this one.
I was so excited to see this on my kindle (well, email from Netgalley first). I have loved every Rachel Van Dyken book I have read. She is a must read author for me.
At the end of Cheater, I was really hoping Austin got revenge. And boy did she. I was laughing so hard about the Dora the Explorer bike, what she made him wear. Austin got Thatch so good. I wanna be her when I grow up!
Thatch isn’t a bad guy. He did the wrong thing for a good reason. He’s a great plastic surgeon.
I can understand why he thinks the way he does. Especially after his past came out.
But Austin was so heartbroken. I love these characters so much.

★★★★
I’m going to kick this off by saying that even though Cheater’s Regret is the second book in the Curious Liaisons series it can totally be read as a standalone so don’t let that put you off!!
Cheater’s Regret is Thatch and Austin’s story and if you’ve read Cheater then you’ll know their backstory already but if you haven’t then don’t worry because it’s all covered in the first few chapters. I started Cheater’s Regret in a pretty neutral place, I didn’t really have an opinion on Thatch and Austin’s situation, mainly because when I read Cheater I was so wrapped up in Lucas and Avery that I wasn’t really paying much attention to Thatch and Austin, it didn’t take long to get on Austin’s side though and I couldn’t help but mentally high five her every step of her revenge plan ;). Cheater’s Regret is in both Thatch and Austin’s POV so you get a real good idea of what is going on from both of them, which I have to say is highly amusing sometimes because as we all know payback works both ways! I think what I like most about Thatch and Austin is that they have flaws that are very apparent, they’re relatable and in my opinion there’s nothing better than reading a book and thinking that these characters could easily be walking around in the real world.
I wasn’t for a second expecting their story to take the turn it did and I loved seeing how it all unfolded, there were plenty of moments where I hated Thatch but by the end the times I loved him outweighed the times I hated him luckily enough. I am seriously against all forms of cheating so if even I can say give Cheater’s Regret a chance then you know it must be a pretty spectacular book. Thank you for another fantastic book Rachel!

Cheater's Regret (Curious Liaisons #2) by Rachel Van Dyken. Thatch Holloway and Austin Rogers' story actually starts off in Cheater (Book 1) and continues with flair in Cheater's Regret after he dumps her in the most horrific way. He can't let her go. He can't keep her. He can't tell her why. By doing this, Thatch ruins the best relationship he's got going by overthinking the situation and the players involved. All Austin wants by this time is some relationship closure that Thatch is unwilling to provide but she ends up needing his help to finish her MBA by doing a social interest blog on plastic surgery. This is where Austin humorously plots her revenge. Cheater's Regret is a contemporary romantic comedy that can be read as a stand alone. It shines a light on just how devastating bad relationship choices can be on others. Through humor, tears, perseverance and a little revenge. Love for the win! I recommend the Seaside Series by this author for contemporary romance or The Darkness Series if you want a little light paranormal with your romance.

So we met Austin and Thatch in book one. They start of as a fun fling and end up slightly more serious towards the end. This book starts pretty much where we left off.
So Austin plans revenge after what Thatch did to her in book 1! Go girl, who hasn't dreamed of doing something like that. This moves on to Austin using Thatch to help with her college classes, something she depends on to escape her home life.
This book had me hanging on every word, dying to know why Thatch did what he did! Well he had a reason, was it a good one, yes, maybe i'm not sure lol.
This series is one of the reasons I love RVD she makes a story that i wouldn't usually read, likeable.

Austin Rogers thought she had the perfect relationship... everything was going great until she caught him kissing someone else. Now to pull herself out of her misery, she and her friend decide a little revenge would serve him right...
Thatch Holloway has his reasons for breaking up with Austin. Sure, he could have done it a little nicer, but he was just doing what was best for her... even if he can't tell her why. Unfortunately for him, she wants to make him hurt as much as he made her hurt... and his best friend might have given her some perfect ammunition...
This book was a fun, heartfelt, and just plain enjoyable read. What starts as a way for Austin to get over Thatch turns into them spending time together and eventually the truth and their feelings for each other start to come out. While more serious than the first in the series, this book is still laugh out loud funny, but with deeper and more nuanced relationships.
The storyline was well developed and moved at a steady pace... and the characters grew and developed right along with it. Fantastic writing with interesting and quirky characters. As usual, a must read from Rachel Van Dyken.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

So, I started reading Cheater’s Regret without reading Cheaters first. I had no problem following along and went back and purchased Cheaters. This series is amazing!!!
Thatch and Austin are the best friends of Avery and Lucas. Towards the end of the first book, Thatch is caught kissing Avery’s older sister Brooke, ending the relationship between him and Austin. Austin decides that she can move past the kiss, however, Thatch doesn’t want to move on with Austin any longer.
In the midst of her pity party, Avery comes to the rescue to save Austin, coming up with a plan to get revenge on Thatch. Avery’s boyfriend Lucas, who is Thatch’s best friend and knows all his dirty secrets, spills the beans and it’s game on. However, Avery didn’t expect Thatch to play the game just as good as she does.
In the middle of all the craziness, Austin decides to create a blog about a woman scorned (herself) for her final project in her social media class in college. The blog goes way out of bounds and her professor tells her it’s a no go, come up with something else. Plan B is to follow around the city’s top plastic surgeon and document everything. That surgeon? Yeah, it just so happens to be Thatch.
Thatch decides to help Austin because as much as he hates her right now, deep down he still loves her. Thatch’s kissing someone else was done with the best intentions to protect Austin, even though she may never know the exact reason why. Not if he can help it. Even though it means losing possibly the love of his life.
“Why the hell did it bother me so much that I’d successfully pushed her into another fucker’s waiting arms? OH, right. Because I loved her. Life was cruel.”
This book was excellent. Just the right amount of angst, love and it was absolutely hysterical. They way Thatch and Austin went at each other? Priceless!! At first, I was a little PO’d about the cheating but then when all the dirty laundry was aired, it all came together perfectly. I love the relationship between Thatch and Austin and how no matter what they tried to do, their feelings for each other were always front and center even when their mouths were getting the best of them. I love the relationship both of them had with Avery and Lucas and how it all flowed together so seamlessly.

Cheater’s Regret is a cheeky and lighthearted romantic comedy about a man who goofs up - big time – when he kisses another woman. Rest assured this isn’t an angst-filled love triangle, and Rachel Van Dyken redeems the cheater and delivers a believable and satisfying happy-ever-after. It’s an irreverent and decadent book that gave me a stomach ache from laughing, and I also made a new friend, Austin Rogers. She and Thatch Holloway start off as a one-night stand, but their fling quickly turns into a committed relationship until kissing-gate happens, which seems to be a deliberate effort by Thatch to push Austin away. He breaks her heart, but she fearlessly confronts him to demand answers, because she’s sure there’s more to his actions than a compulsion to cheat. He stays tightlipped, and Austin is furious and calculates a plan for a little friendly revenge.
She identifies Thatch’s weaknesses, such as his fear of frogs, and plots to use them against him, and these lovers-to-enemies are innovative and hilarious in their pranks and continual attempts to one-up each other. Their war doesn’t dampen their sizzling sexual chemistry, and their inability to resist each other makes it obvious that they’re far from over. There’s love underneath their antics, and they’re electrifying to watch. I became enamored with Austin, watching her deal with her rollercoaster emotions using self-deprecating humor and the occasional emotional eating of Moon Pies. She’s not afraid to be vulnerable and wear her heart on her sleeve, and she is always entertaining. She and I would get along beautifully. Cheater’s Regret is pure unadulterated fun with tons of charm, endearing characters, and unforgettable moments. - Mary Dubé, USA Today's Happy Ever After

First off I want to say please don't judge this book by its title because once again one of the best writers of Rom -Com has pulled off another fantastic read.
Austin Rogers perfect life falls apart when she catches her boyfriend Thatch Holloway kissing another woman, once she has time to think she knows what she needs to do to make herself feel better and that's revenge...
Thatch Holloway looks like he has it all, good looks, a great job but he also has some hidden family secrets and those secrets stop him giving himself completely to the woman he loves , so he thinks cheating on her just once will make her walk away to a better life without him.
Revenge can be sweet but in this book revenge is down right hilarious, the antics that these two get up to had me laughing out loud and I think at times I even snorted, they are a couple with sizzling chemistry and they can't keep away from each other, I loved every part of this book. It's about love and strong friendships and I love how this author brings its altogether in a fantastic read that left me wanting more from this adorable couple and their friends.

I couldn't put this novel down. I loved every page of this story. I was intrigued from the start and loved the many twists and turns that sneak up when I was least expecting them.
Holy sh*t was this an emotional ride.
Cheater's Regret is the second book in the curious liaisons series. This is Austen and Thatch's story. I may be going against the popular vote here when I say that Cheater's Regret is my favorite book in this series. There was something about Thatch and Austen's situation that felt real. I connected with the characters more in this novel than the last.
We were first introduced to Austen and Thatch in the first book of this series 'Cheater'. Austen is Avery's best friend and Thatch is Lucas's main bro.
It was only supposed to be a one night stand between the two, however, it quickly started to evolve into a relationship that neither one was expecting. Thatch has never been able to commit to a woman given his home life wasn't always so loving while growing up, when he starts to connect on a deeper level with Austen it scares him and he decides to cut the strings and let her loose by doing the one thing that he knew would change her views on the type of man he is. He cheated.
Austen has dealt with cheater's in the past. So with the help of her best friend Avery the two devise a plan of payback or as some may ball it revenge. But that plan quickly comes to a halt when Austen is failing a class and needs the help of a certain plastic surgeon to boost her score back up.
I loved the back and forth banter Thatch and Austen had going on, I was cringing at one moment and then laughing so hard the next moment. Austen's one line moments were hilarious. She is such a random person and I related to her character the most.
Not going to lie Thatch was a douche canoe in the beginning but don't give up on him. He's a sweetie!
Overall, Cheater's Regret was amazing and I highly HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a hilarious romance novel with a touch of angst. I hope you love it as much as I did, I hope you feel the emotions as I felt them and I hope Thatch and Austen touch the soft spot in your heart as they did mine.

Thatch is the sexy plastic surgeon who has just completed his residency and he has been involved in a relationship with Austin for one month so things should be perfect. Why is then caught with his tongue down the throat of Austin’s best friend’s sister at a party?
Austin is devastated when she sees him but when she decides that she will forgive him and they can move forward he dumps her! After an orgy of Mountain Dew and Moon Pies she decides the best way to get over him is revenge. Her first attempt was to write a blog and use it towards her social media class until she goes too far and her Professor tells her to choose another project. She then decides that blogging about his professional skills is the answer and she convinces Thatch that he owes her and he agrees to help. As they work together their chemistry explodes again but when Austin doesn’t understand what went wrong the first time how can they possible make it work this time?
Austin is hilarious, takes no crap and while vulnerable about her feelings doesn’t hold them back while Thatch is sexy and although his actions were misguided he only had her best interests in mind from the beginning. Rachel Van Dyken and this series are amazing and this story is no different. This is an amazing romantic comedy that you don’t want to miss. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The title explains this perfectly. He regrets cheating. But there's a story behind it, if you just give the guy a chance to explain. There's way more to Thatch if you look close enough. This I'm-in-control facade only masks what's going on inside him and his family.
This rom-com was filled quite a bit of heart actually. In fact, I did get choked up a few times. One scene hit close to home and I had this pain in my chest that required me to sit a take a deep breath.
If you're looking for a nice escape from all the angsty books, this one is right up your alley. The characters were insane and kooky but you can't help but love them.

If you were around yesterday you are aware that I was suffering quite the ol’ book hangover after wrapping up Boy’s Life. When downloading all the free pornies from Amazon during my lunch break failed to get me refocused on my library book options I remembered my bestest bookpusher had given me the head’s up about this one and I had multitasked with the clicking of the GIMMEGIMME button so fast I managed to immediately forget all about having it. As soon as I got home from work I put on my Thanksgiving Pants and settled in for a cheating good time. Even though the first book in this series didn’t work out so great for me it could be blamed on the bizarro convoluted his/her backstory so my hopes remained high for #2 and also because Rachel Van Dyken????? I LUUUUUUUUUURV HER. (And to those who may be thinking I’m a shill – YOU’RE WRONG. I’m not friends or acquaintances or anything else with this author . . . . I just quietly stalk her on the interwebs like a normal person.)
I do have to admit that looking back at my rating for Cheater I was shocked to see I gave it 3. I could have sworn I gave it only 2, but obviously my gut reaction was a little higher – or I was still under the voodoo spell Rachel Van Dyken’s sexytimes scenes had over my punany. Whatever the reason, I’m glad I stuck around with this series because A MUCH better time was had with this one.
If you read #1, you’ll know that Thatch and Austin were ancillary characters who started as a one-off that ended up getting a little more serious . . . . and then ended up with Thatch getting caught with his tongue down Austin’s skank beloved sister’s throat. I know I know I know – she should never forgive him and that’s so stupid and yada yada yada. It’s fiction and it’s got CHEATER in the fucking title. Don’t get your panties in a twist. His reasons get explained and it gets confirmed that men are big fat morons.
My only gripe about this was that it started out as a revenge story (which is what hooked me to begin with) featuring an embarrassingly drunken serenade going viral but quickly morphed into Austin blogging about Thatch’s plastic surgery practice for one of her classes instead. Either storyline would have probably been a winner for me, but the abrupt bait and switch seemed a little off.
All was quickly forgiven, however, when plotline #2 took root and the romance (with a side of humor and just a smidge of drama for yo momma) took hold. I’m telling you this thing was sweeter than a Moon Pie washed down with a 20 ouncer of Mountain Dew. It most definitely served its purpose of providing me a quality filler of fluffy goodness and, despite the good doctor sporting a manbun, I still wanted to make all the sexuals with him. No disrespect to the manbun – it is one of the reasons I tune into the Housewhores of New York weekly in hopes of sneaking a peak of Carole's boyfriend Adam and his delicious manbun - I just didn’t like a doctor having one. (But I totally went and requested one of Alice Clayton’s farmhand books because yep, that’d work out just fine there.) And yes I realize he was probably supposed to look like Thor and not like a hipster, but Liam is the only Hemsworth brother for me so it still was a no-go. Lucky for me I have a bigly working brain and was able to simply ignore the hair references and focused on the DOCTOR part instead, which meant . . . . . McSteamy. Yep. That'll work!
This one gets 4 Stars and I’m pretty positive I won’t have a change of heart down the road. It was just what the doctor ordered. I mean, a tummytuck would have been nice, but this was good too.
ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, NetGalley!

Each book just gets better and better that Rachel writes and I LOVED Austin and Thatch.
Austin thought that Thatch had changed. Everything was going so well for the two. I mean he even asked her to move in with him and then BAM - she walks in on Thatch kissing another girl and her world crumbles. Now she's out for revenge. And Thatch isn't going to know what hit him.
But as Austin enacts her revenge, her heart is still full fledged #TeamThatch. She's more confused than ever since Thatch seems to be running the hot and cold game with her. She still sees glimpses of the man she was falling in love with.
Thatch is going crazy. All he was trying to do was protect Austin in the long run. I mean a son of two cheaters is bound to do the same to the woman he loves right. But he's finding it harder each day to resist Austin - but will she run the other way when all of his secrets are revealed. Will she leave just like everyone else he's loved in his life?
I absolutely could not put this book down. I was sneaking reads at the stoplights, in the car rider line at school - while cooking (and subsequently burning) dinner. Austin is a spit fire and Thatch will make you melt.
If the title throws you off because it has the word "Cheater" in it - don't let it keep you from a great read. If you have read Rachel in the past, just know that this is her "steamiest" read yet!

Thatch is my hero! Swoonworthy right to the end, I so think this book is worth so many more stars than 5! It had me hooked from start to finish and I really wondered how it would end!
The characters are just fun, hilarious and the close friendships between them was just heartwarming and I just wanted to jump in and be among them.
This would have to be one of my absolute favourite books for 2017!
I truly believe the author could write anything and knock it out of the park!
Thatch and Austin just made the story! Their friends Lucas and Avery added their own charm and I really just didn't want it to end!!
There were some really beautiful moments, some rather sad drama but also the banter was brilliant
Loved, loved loved it!!
Read it!!

I have no idea what I just read!!
I'm going to be in the minority here and thats' ok.
I also would like to say that I love RVD's books. I enjoyed so many great hours reading her novels and falling in love with her witty, sassy and charming characters, that she will always be a go-to writer. Unfortunately Cheater's Regret didn't turn out the way I hoped.
I loved the plot. A cheater's regret - hello, sign me up for that!!!
The writing was as always superb. RVD is a seasoned writer, and her experience shone through with every word. Her dialogues were witty, funny and her characters as usual complex with a hidden heart.
I think the biggest issue I had with this book was that both Austin and Thatch felt immature and childish at times. They apparently were in a relationship - a happy one until it all broke apart. It never made sense to me why Thatch broke up with her - but the way he did it was shocking. The antics that happened afterwards made me shake my head and doubt my eyes.
I had a hard time believing any of the reasoning behind the decisions made by either character. Much of the drama could have been prevented by just talking - as always.
Even so Cheater's Regret was a disappointment it won't keep me from reading any of her other books. For me, this book was a fluke - not one I think will repeat itself.
this review will go online on May 30th 2017

Cheater's Regret is the second book in the Curious Liasons series by Rachel Van Dyken. Fans of the first book in the series will recognize Austin and Thatch, but if you haven't read the first book this one can easily be read as a standalone. I am a huge fan of RVD's, but I am always a bit skeptical when it comes to cheaters. If anyone could pull it off though, I knew it was RVD and I ended up really liking this one.
Austin Rogers thought that she had found the one that she could spend her life with, but then he cheated on her and dumped her as though she was the one in the wrong. Her new mission becomes revenge on Thatch Holloway for how he broke her heart. But when she needs help with a school project for her MBA, she knows that she needs help from Thatch as he is a plastic surgeon and will draw the interest she needs. As much as Austin is hurting, she also can't help but still want Thatch even though she knows that he will just break her heart again. Thatch had his reasons for doing what he did, knowing that it was hurt Austin and push her away from him forever. As much as he wishes things were different, he knows that he made the right choice when he still has a secret that would destroy not only Austin, but any chance they might have at a future together.
I really liked these two, even though I was worried about whether or not I would like Thatch at first. Once we got to know him more though, it was clear that there was so much more to the story. Thatch and Austin were really good together, and I really felt their connection and chemistry. My heart broke for Austin and how hurt she was by everything, especially since she had no clue what was really going on. I just wanted everything to come out and for her to finally get some answers, but I knew that Thatch was really trying to protect her in his own way. I was just hoping that everything would work out in the end and that whatever was going on wouldn't destroy their chance at something together in the future.
Overall, this was one I couldn't put down and I read it in pretty much one sitting. I felt really connected to these characters and Rachel Van Dyken has a way of telling a story that is unlike anyone else. She always has me laughing out loud and is great at delivering all the feels as well. I know that some might be scared off my the title and the fact that there was cheating involved, but turst me when I say that this is so much more than that and worth taking the chance on.

Cheaters Regret by Rachel Van Dyken
This is book two in Van Dyken's Curious Liaisons series and is about a couple we met previously: Austin and Thatch. Austin catches Thatch with his tongue down another woman's throat and then *he* has the nerve to break up with *her*. I don't think so. Once her pity party is over, she comes up with a plan that had me in fits of laughter as she administered her sweet revenge. As Thatch is a highly successful plastic surgeon - and thanks to his charming good looks, is the face of the hospital - Austin shadows him for her final assignment and hopes to get answers from him... and that's where it all begins. Again ;).
I'll be brutally honest here; I really wanted to give Austin a roundhouse kick just to wake her up! She wish she hadn't just accepted whatever it was that Thatch kept dishing out. She deserved so much better than what he was putting her through. While I loved Thatch and thought his intentions were somewhat noble (though his execution was sadly lacking) I wish he'd also just come clean dammit and 'get the girl'.
Overall, this book had me in tears: first it was from laughing, and then it was from heartache for these two. I enjoyed both books in this series although they can be read as standalones. As I said in my review for Cheater, just go in and read the book for what it is and don't look too much into it.

Thatch!
Oh, Thatch!
You're my hero!!
I'm so in love with Thatch I want to steal him for myself!
Now onto the important stuff!
This is probably my favorite RVD book after the Eagle Elite series. And I don't say this lightly. I've loved Lucas Thorn, and Bentley and so many more of her characters. But there is something so epic about Thatcher Holloway.
"The kiss of death." He shuddered. "Kind of has a whole new meaning now, yeah?" <--- I snorted laughing at this scene. It was so d@mn funny! And it's so much a part of Thatch. He's so great. He can laugh in the face of adversity. He loves with his whole heart and he sacrifices for those he loves.
Avery is me, you, my friends and almost every female I've known. We work so hard to take care of others and to accomplish our goals, we end up here:
'My chest was sore. Like an idiot, I rubbed it, but nothing made the heartache dissipate. Add school stress to the mis and I was an exhausted hot mess, barely able to function without sobbing my eyes out and drinking lots of coffee so I wouldn't fail at life... or my classes' <---- I live on coffee so I don't fail at life. Though I add chocolate to mix. Because I run of faith, chocolate and coffee. It's the perfect trifecta for me.
The authors words hit home in this book on so many levels. In love there are laughter and tears, there are the moments that we connect and realize this is our person. Thatch, you are my person. Even in the bicycling pants. You are my person!
