Didn't make much of a impression. I don;t believe are that dumb or unadventurous...Illustrations were cute.

The publisher says about this book:
It's perfect for fans of Ursula LeGuin's Catwings or Ruth Stiles Gannett's My Father's Dragon.
I disagree. This book is nothing like Catwings, and I never liked My Father's Dragon as a child, and it is certainly not like that either.

This is the story of a sheep, asking questions. I think the point is that we have to sometimes do things on our own. I like the answers that the horse gives, which is that sometimes you have to listen to your own drummer, so to speak. And that talking about things outside our kin will make no sense to us, until we see it.

But other than that nice speech of the horse the rest is back and forth with dim sheep. Allen B is one of those dim sheep.

I suppose this would appeal to someone out there, some kid who likes sheep, and for that, and that speech of the horse, I give it three stars. I can't really recommend it however.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
