Oh, if only more of us women could hope to acquire "super powers" along with the hot flushes/flashes that come with menopause. It would definitely balance out the bad (night sweats, bright red flushes, erratic hormones...) with the good (super hearing, sight, strength...) . One can only dream but live vicariously through this book.

This was a fun, comical, fast paced read. I truly enjoyed the main character's journey into discovering her super powers. This is one of those stories that leaves you wondering if the super hero should even bother rescuing her friend, but then when her dog is kidnapped, the situation becomes more urgent. The little dog was a real charmer in this story.

I love the idea of menopause bringing about something positive, or at least something more that hot flashes.! Hot Flush by Rosy Fenwicke explores the idea that Euphemia has inherited a biological switch that turns on at menopause and leads to super powers. Euphemia was left with her aunt when she was only 6 years old. The aunt has since passed away and left Euphemia a locked trunk and letters mailed on her birthdays. Euphemia has had a good, if dull, life, but all that changes with "the change". This was a fun book that I read in exchange for a review. I would definitely look for more from Rosy Fenwicke.
