Unfortunately, I'm among those that didn't finish the book. I couldn't get into the story, and the characters were grating.

A pretty good coming of age story, the pacing is a bit all over the place but if you can stick with it, the story is well worth it.

Afraid to say I DNF'd this book. Unfortunately just ended up not being the book for me but I can see others liking it.

I loved the synopsis of this book, but not just the book its self. It was just kinda long winded in my opinion.

Starting as Tara leaves her family, and her abusive stepfather, the novel does not get better from there. While it started a little entertaining at first (though this might just be my own personal interest in touring) as Tara tours with her boyfriend's band, I soon lost interest. Too much time before the synopsis, which I've always disliked. Absolutely all the characters are the epitome of annoyance, especially Tara. The writing style is a bit awkward and choppy. Tara writes in a journal for her sister and after the first three I started to skip them cause they seemed irrelevant. I honestly cannot remember much else from this book and I read it yesterday.

Started off super slow. It has a likable main character.

I got to 15% but this book just isn't holding my attention. I'm struggling to connect with the characters, there seems to be too many info dumps or the characters recounting past events rather than experiencing them, and the writing style feels jumpy. Unfortunately, it's not what I was expecting and since it's lost me so early on I'm going to mark it as DNF rather than force myself to get to the end because after skimming ahead I can't see it winning me back.

Actual ranting: 3.5☆
I really liked this book! It was very different from what I thought it'd be, so it took me by surprise. It's a coming of age and self discovery story, and you get to see the development of the main character.
It is quite slow sometimes and there are parts where I felt nothing was really happening and I struggled with some characters, and that's why I lowered my ranting.

I have conflicted feelings about this book. From page one I was instantly sucked in and to me, it felt like there was this feeling like something absolutely horrendous was going to happen. Granted, bad things do indeed happen, but not of the sort it feels like the story is directing things toward. It goes back and forth between being very slow and spending way too much time on things that I found to be boring and moving almost too fast, not allowing for the bigger events and the consequences of them to fully develop. The way the lead character reacts to these events and the people she meets feels a bit unrealistic. Several tropes that have become common in YA find themselves at home in this New Adult story. However, I did find myself enjoying this book. When I picked it up, I did not want to put it back down. When I did put it down, though, I did not find myself missing it.
