4.5 stars — I woke up in the middle of the night and could NOT get back to sleep, and so I started this book. And wow. It pulled me right in from the beginning. I feel like this is my most successful book by Ms. Sunday yet. I had so many feelings in my guts throughout this reading — I was kind of an emotional basketcase. I think maybe that’s partly me, but I really did feel for all that Marco and Oskar were going through.

I didn’t even mind that we only got Marco’s POV — it fit the story somehow. I could see enough of what was going on with Oskar through Marco’s eyes that I wasn’t left feeling bereft.

The beginning was really affecting. Something about the way Marco tried to start the story…then tried again…then tried again…I don’t know, it just really got me connected to the story immediately and feeling things.

I ached for Marco and all that he was dealing with. It’s hard to see the way an incident can change a person’s viewpoint (or solidify a possibility) so that it follows them unchanging. I could see in his flashback that he interpreted things wrong (well, the one bit), but I got how he would have seen it that way. But it broke my heart.

I was worried about what Oskar had done to break them apart. And with these kinds of friends to enemies to lovers stories, I’m always a bit worried that I won’t buy the transition back. But I did. I truly felt Oskar’s remorse. I appreciated that there was something internal going on with him that helped explain it to a point.

I will admit I’m not sure how happy I was with the whole Jessie thing. I kind of wanted that wrapped up earlier than it was. But it didn’t detract that much.

I don’t know if this story will work for everyone, but damn did it work for me. I felt for them every step of the journey, and I devoured it from start to finish. It left me feeling happy and satisfied.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I enjoyed this slow-burn romance novel with excellent well thought out characters and a good storyline.

This story was okay (though I should note that I did like it better than some of her other works). It was a bit corny in parts (esp. regarding the plays) but I liked the story between M & O a bit, even if they did seem a bit immature. The story lacked the depth I like in my stories but it held my interest enough.

It was an ok book for me. I,ve read this author. Efore and have totally loved her work. Maybe it was me that couldn’t quite get into the book. I really not know. Rock was my favorite book by her.. I like to read characters in the closet and cannot wait for them to realize what am I waiting for but I found it annoying in this book. It was a slow pace and I just lost interest. But it won’t stop me from reading this author again. I hope it was a one off.

This was amazing! I'm not usually a fan of the Hate to Love or Enemies to Lovers trope...it tends to drag on a bit too long for me...BUT...this one hit all my buttons. I think it's because I fell in love with Marco almost immediately. I wanted everything for him. This was a well thought out, well developed story with characters that I couldn't help but like and root for. A terrific romance book all around.

Once childhood best friends Marco and Oscar are now back in the same town after Oscar fled years ago. Not knowing exactly why they had a falling out, it seems friends and families of both men are determined to get them to reconcile. But Marco's emotional and physical scars run deep and his broken heart will not allow him forgiveness so easily.

The good: This book is a HOT second chance romance with great characters. I was on board the whole time; hoping Marco and Oscar would hash everything out and get their happy ending. I smiled, I blushed, I cheered for them.

The bad: I didn't like how Marco was almost presented as the villain for being pissed off. Spoiler-ish talk here but Marco was horribly burned and scarred as a child in the same car accident that killed his mother and the same best friend who stood by his side through that mocked his scars and didn't help when bullies held Marco down, forced his shirt off to expose those scars, then mocked him further. I mean, I get that they were kids when that happened and it is likely nobody else knows all those details now that Marco is an adult; but Oscar really hurt him and Marco is entitled to that pain. He shouldn't be made to feel guilty for it; especially since he never got any closure for many years. That bugged me enough to feel the need to mention it.

This didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story otherwise so this book gets a satisfied 3.7 out of 5 out of me.

Unfortunately, I never got to actually read this book, I would have loved too but was too late in downloading it.

Very well written, interesting book. The colors weave into the story seamlessly, enhancing the progression. It's a long road when a few stray words destroy a friendship if you ever want to repair it. But sometimes, it's worth the effort, and something new can blossom from the ashes.

This is such a wonderful book to read. I was very impressing when I read the very first page. :)

After much thought I've decided to rate True Colors 3 stars. I'll also mention that 3 stars doesn't mean I didn't like the book. It's a good rating for me and I really liked True Colors. I just disliked some aspects of the book that prevented me from loving it.

What I liked.

I'll start with the writing because I'm telling you it was really addictive. I stayed up until 3am reading this book because I just couldn't stop. I honestly cannot remember the last time a book has made me stay up past 10 o'clock never mind 3 in the morning. It is Anyta Sunday so I should have expected it. I love her books.

Due to the fact that this was told in the first persons POV of Marco all character growth goes to him. I loved how confident in himself Marco becomes by the end of this book. He fights for what he wants. I also really loved how genuinely good of a person he was. He cares for all his friends and loves his family so much.

I really liked the relationship between Marco & Oskar. At first I was skeptical. Oskar hurt Marco and he hurt him badly. I didn't want their relationship to be rushed with Marco just falling for Oskar straight asway. Thank god that didn't happen. Oskar actually had a lot of grovelling to do and as much as I ended up really liking Oskar I was happy to see.

Of course the romance was slow-burn. Which as I have said is the best romance. I always love the build up in slow burn romances and this one was no exception.

What I didn't like so much

Straight away why did Oskar have a boyfriend? It was very clear Oskar was going to end up with Marco. I felt like Jessie was just there for the fun of it. I don't like that he was clearly used as a plot piont. No. I hate that. There was no cheating thank god but Oskar gets very jealous infront of Jessie twice when Marco is with other guys. It also made Oskars declaration near the end unbelievable.
He tells Marco he came back home for him. While sure that's fantastic, why did you have a boyfriend then? I know this could mean just his friendship he came back for but come on, it clearly wasn't. He's loved Marco since they were children!

I was pissed at Marco & Oskars parents reactions to their sons being gay. While Marcos father told him he wants him to be happy he did say it would take some getting use to. He also made comments throughout the novel how Oskars parents were practically shunned when the neighbors found out, how he felt sorry for them etc etc. Okay then. Oskars parents were worse. It wasn't even that they blew up about it but they say little comments throughout the book that pissed me the hell off. They were as bad as the neighbors at times.

What Oskar did to Marco was bad. I couldn't believe it to be honest. Especially since he apparently loved him at the time. Now it does take four years for Marco to forgive him but that's not the point.

From this I feel like it suffered not having dual POVs between Marco and Oskar. I would have loved to know what went on in Oskars head. Also why the hell he had a boyfriend if he still loved Marco so much.

Overall I had problems with this novel. However the writing was very addictive and I liked the characters. I was glad for their happy ending and I wouldn't say no to another novel in this series. Especially Ben & Sebastian.

This is the third Anyta Sunday book that I've read and I've got to say I really like her books. They may not be the best written thing ever but they are really fun!
My opinion on this one is very similar to Scorpio Hates Virgo, it was a fun, cute romance. Basically, it follows Marco and Oskar who used to be best friends, but for reasons (which I won't spoil) their friendship was torn apart. Now Oskar has returned home, determined to rekindle their friendship , but Marco’s afraid getting hurt again.
Something I didn't expect at all was that the book is set in Berlin, which explains some of the weird names that appear in the story. I've read very few books that are set in Berlin, especially one that is set in modern times. Overall, it was a very fun and quick read.

I love how Marco assigns colors to everything and everyone. When he does that, it reveals something about him without it being clear on the page. Not once did I feel like he was unfairly angry or insecure. Oskar didn't push Marco too far, he patiently showed Marco his remorse and love, which is what Marco needed, I think, to really forgive and forget. This is a friends-to-haters-to-lovers story, and it is a good one. This is my first Anyta Sunday book, but after this one, I will definitely be browsing Sunday's catalogue for more stories.

A beautiful slow burn story of healing and finding your way. I really enjoyed this story. I'm not a huge fan of slow burn but it worked for this story and was necessary given the MC's situations. In the end they got their well deserved, hard won HEA. Recommended.

True Colors was a good read but I thought the story moved at a very slow pace. I really liked Zoe and Oskar characters but I thought Mason's character was okay. I hated how Mason ran from everything and wanted him to stand up a be a man; no matter how damaged he thought he was. Everyone has scars and I wanted him to accept his. I felt bad for Jessie but at the same time I wanted things to work out with Oskar and Mason, simply because I wanted Oskar to have his happy ever after. I really would have enjoyed this book much better if it flowed a little faster, but it was still worth reading.

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

True colours is the second book in the True Love series by Anyta Sunday and is an enemies to lovers style story.

From they were young boys, Oskar and Marco were the best friends who lived next door to one another. That was until a tragic incident and some cruel words changed everything and suddenly they weren't. Fast forward 7 years and Marco's life is turned upside down once again when he finds out Oskar is coming back back home. Despite Oskar's wish to rekindle the friendship that they once had, Marco finds it difficult and no longer wants anything to do with him. However the one question remaining is can Marco learn to live with the emotional and physical scars of the past in order to get back his Sunglow Yellow?

First off I always eagerly anticipate the release of Anyta Sunday's next book and this one was just fantastic as her previous works. I have to say as much as I love her earlier work, I am really enjoying the new series' (Leo love Aries, Scorpio hates Virgo and the previous book True Luck etc) because they all have a theme like horoscopes or in the case of this series colours. Another thing thing which stood out to me was the fact that it was set in Berlin as opposed to some American town/city as many other M/M romance stories are. It was refreshing to read something different and that little bit more unique.

I actually really like the fact that although it was an enemies to lovers story it was done slightly differently to the rest with the two MC'S being friends as young boys. I found both Marco and Oskar in the end to be likeable characters. It did take me a while to warm to Oskar and convince me that Marco should give him a second chance but I am glad that their complicated but beautiful story ended the way it did. Moreover I enjoyed the fact that the story at times jumped between the past and present as I believe that it gave us a deeper insight into the personalities of the characters and also helped us understand why they felt the way that they did (e.g. why Marco was so hard on Oskar at times).

I honestly couldn't put this book down and had to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. I was left constantly wondering what was going to happen but as it was a slow burner I was forced to wait to find out how it was going to end. But it was totally worth it and the epilogue left me with all the feels :'). I can't wait to read the next book in the series as the first two have definitely not disappointed.

From the first chapter I was hooked and couldn't put the book down. Anyta Sunday has become one of my favorite go-to authors.
