Beautiful illustrations help tell the story so that kids will understand bedtime. Kids are going to love reading this before they go to bed. Great family book.

I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review.
This is the perfect bedtime story about all the animals in the forest who are also preparing for bed. Each animal does things differently but they are all headed to bed, except for the owl family, who are watching over everyone.

A comforting bedtime story, full of beautiful illustrations.

The Forest Sleeps will help your child fall asleep by saying "sleep tight" to a wide range of forest animals. Children who love animals will love seeing where each animal sleeps. A great bedtime read!

The illustrations and repetition make this an excellent choice for storytime. Little ones can have fun saying goodnight to all the critters of the forest.

This charming, gentle, bedtime story allows the tiny reader a peek as to how a variety of forest animals go to sleep at night. After each detailed picture of the animals snuggling into their beds the words, "sleep tight" is whispered to each.
The illustrations are sweet and detailed drawing your wee one into the story. The vocabulary is simple and has some repetitive words making the story very interactive and enabling word recognition.
The book contains true facts delivered both by words and by adorable imagery. The mood of the book is tranquil and calming making it a perfect choice for a bedtime read.

I am very fortunate to have a very close family. Between my husband and I we have 4 grown children and they have blessed us with 11 Grand children, 6 of which are under 6. The kids spend a lot of time here with us. We love to snuggle in a chair and read books and when they sleep over they always get bedtime stories..
This book is perfect for those nights. Each set of pages feature a single type of animal. It tells the animals name, where they live and tells them goodnight. The book has just one sentence on each page, so it is a very short book. I like books with an educational aspect to them. I feel like I am not just reading a mindless story to the kids. And usually the kids do remember at least part of the lessons in the book. The pictures in the book are very engaging with the kids as well. You have Momma or Daddy critter tucking the baby in, so it gives it a sweet and loving aspect as well. What more could you ask for in a book.
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

This is a sweet, gentle, bedtime story that shows the reader various animals going to sleep in their natural habitats. The story uses repetitive words with the words "sleep tight" after each animal. From squirrels to bears, beavers to badgers each animal is going to sleep at night except for the fireflies who shine and the owls who keep watch. The illustrations are sweet, detailed and colourful drawings that take up the full page and will pull the little ones into the story. The mood of the book is tranquil and calming making it a perfect choice for a bedtime read. When you are trying to get your little one to go to sleep, this book is the perfect story to unwind and feel sleepy, in fact after reading Sleep tight over and over, you might be sleepy yourself.

This is a perfect story for bed time. Read along as all the animals of the forest get laid down and ready to sleep tight.

A comforting bedtime read.
A beautifully illustrated book for very young children that helps them to unwind at bedtime. The repetition of the phrase 'sleep tight' is perfect for young audiences. The animals are a mixture of the familiar (snakes, rabbits, birds) and the less familiar (deer, beavers, fireflies) which helps children add to their knowledge of the wild.
I read this to my 20 month granddaughter and she loved it. She also loves that it's on my Kindle Fire (and therefore in colour) and that she can share something on this device that she knows I value. She enjoyed turning the pages for herself and exclaiming at each animal, often with their young.
Now that I have grandchildren I can discover a whole world of new children's books :)

I loved the images in this book and can see them becoming a firm favourite with young children. The story is ideal for bedtime and I had added it to my wish list to get a hard copy of the book in the future as I think it will be one to treasure.

It's bedtime and your child wants a story goodnight you pick up "The Forest Sleeps." The first line you read is 'The forest is a busy place at bedtime.' you begin to worry have I chosen the right book.....but then it goes on to say 'The deer amble into the thicket. Sleep tight, deer.' and so the story continues as the forest animals go to bed and yes you have chosen the right book.
This book is similar to Mem Fox's "Time for Bed" as it takes you through the different forest animals going to bed, foxes curling up in dens, squirrels in trees and birds perched in their nests sleeping tight. It is a lovely gentle story that will become a favourite at bed time.
The illustration on the last page or the moon, an owl, the trees and the sky is my favourite illustration. The illustration is calming and depicts a sleepy forest full of animals.
'Sleep tight, forest' and sleep tight readers.

Cute story! Uncomplicated, cute illustrations. Good bedtime book very very little ones.

This one is for all the young babies and children, a gorgeous new picture book for bedtime!
Simply gorgeous and detailed drawings drew my attentions to the book after I studied media and graphics previously. The illustrations make the book come to life and more imaginable to the children looking.
The vocabulary is simple and is basic, with many repeated words especially considering some children may try and attempt to read the book aloud like their parent and could possibly be doing so for the first time.
The imagery and words are true and informative whilst being fun and light hearted, plus the animals and habitats mentioned provide a good base knowledge on that front and for early learning.
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them, I'm sure many children will love this book and I know I will buy it for my young relatives once it comes out!
