A timely book to remind us that looking, or being, busy all the time is not always beneficial. Tinker looks at how stepping back could allow us to "move forward" by "unfocusing"; our brains can then start to do things more creatively.
I love the little bulletins with their anecdotes and tips to break the monotony of jargon, as well as to motivate readers to do something.
I found the book easy to read, though, as I mentioned earlier, it can be monotonous in places. Perhaps that's because I have been applying these skills sub-consciously, such as doodling when I find it hard to focus in classes. Readers will do well to come to this book repeatedly, like the author says: "Tinker, dabble, doodle, try." Again and again.
